I would say that Apple is pretty nefarious. From either working with Foxcon to produce iPhone with slave labour to lower costs or forcing customers to pay full price for old devices. The iPhone SE is a two year device that is still selling for full retail price when it was released. From time to time Apple does that for other products. The Macbook Air M1 stayed at $999 when the M2 was released but the newer M2 increased the price to $1,200 to justifiy keeping the M1 at full price. Not to mention Apple is so stingy on base hardware configurations. The base iPhone barely got a bump in based storage from 64GB to 128GB in 2021. Apple is always late to bumping up specs compared to the rest of the industry. The base RAM on Macbooks have been 8GB since 2012 I believe. Only with rumors of the upcoming M4 mac will we get 16GB for Apple Intelligence. On a side note no other manufactures force their customer to pay $30 more for an unlocked phone.
