Me and my brother came up with the phrase "The convictions we hold in our heart are what manifest as our reality". And so in this context; the one who gets the job is the one that is able to access the most conviction in their heart, is on the same wavelength as the interviewer, and transfers the most conviction through the *way* they say their stuff and how they make the interviewer feel. The one who transfers the most conviction is the one who gets the job! And a little tail end modification to the last statement I like is "Do the hard work even when you don't feel like it, *especially when you don't feel like it!*" I know how fantastic I will feel after, if nothing else by the sense of self-integrity :)
I come from a tech background, MSc in Machine Learning and Big Data + Software engineer. I am watching these because I want to do an industrial PhD in AI applied to banking, and I will probably need to go through several interviewing processes. Also your experience facing consulting issues is quite insightful as someone who is (tangentially) into these sort of things out of pure curiosity and enjoyment of the matter. Keep it up ! Seriously .

Do I have your career progression correct? IB -> BCG -> strategy “associate”? That seems like a step down in terms of seniority and pay scale. Are you able to give a little more insight into these positions in terms of compensation and responsibility/hours on the clock? I assume the equity you received in tech possibly brings the tc package level but the title is odd to me. Thanks.
