I understand there's a trade-off since longer videos might mean lower completion rates and output, but I think those moments are the most enjoyable. But if I guessed 5% would that be ok if I continued in ur methodical calculation ?

Just watched it The big thing is just habits for me. I do not think even about the whys everytime when i need to do something I dont even rely on this so called motivation or disciplines shinanigans I do not get personal with the goals for in the moment and in the future However there is a time when i can not do something. For example too tired, emergencies, things that are out of our control. The real question behind these procrastinating is just not making the big mistake in career, dating and location I love the gym example that it is too far. I think for me i do not see the gym as something too important. I just want to get the shape done and i am out of the gym. No mirror check, no fitness guru consumption. I am there to get in shape not to be some kind of gym bro. The lifestyle of this billion industry and the contrast bias is huge

So you're representing Google here talking about your role and work and are outlining your interpretation of hiring. But you're a business / management person with supposed business and interpersonal skills and financial / investment analysis experience. Why do you think things you want to hire in or around those fields are what you want to hire for engineers or other technical positions? Other than just saying it's a blanket advice for interviews, doesn't it seem like you're blindly sprinting head first into a way too broad of a market shift to be making statements like this? You're glazing offer all the prequalification and writing that off as a given. Just like every other Googler I've seen talking about the interview process, except perhaps for Neetcode, You have absolutely rocket jump leaped yourself 3/4 of the way up the mountain as your starting point. At this elevation, the ONLY other people who have made it are by definition elite expert people who if anything have likely underrepresented themselves due to stress or have overrepresented themselves by some form of gray ethical method such as memorizing leetcode questions or the patterns (because Google "doesn't use leetcode") to be able to recall a similar problem and use memory lookup to print out a similar pattern. This is separate from true learning and understanding, and is a type of artificial, perhaps, intelligence. So there's some selection bias problems, but anyway you're just blowing past the rest of the process and writing off all the hard work of technical problem solving as the minor details that don't really matter. I've seen several Google recruiters say this now. Maybe you're talking about a later stage in the process. Obviously at some point you prove yourself and you get into the area where it's really just like don't mess up now which is obvious, but still can be hard since it's stressful and anxious especially for a lot of devs. But is this really a useful stage to be so hyper micro focused on? It seems like the glaring iceberg you're missing is the programming trivia questions that aren't really used in reality. They can be good to be aware of and are useful for research roles and such, but generally do you really want someone trying to invent a concept like pi or the Pythagorean theorem themselves instead of just using the already well-defined, documented, understood, and standardized official formulas? Imagine NASA hired somebody and they try to load up a 4D hypersphere simulation that calculates pi from their own formula instead of just using the already existing formula. Nobody knows how to maintain that and trying to audit it for accuracy is going to be impossible. So why are you testing for that in the interview? To find someone who COULD invent a new way to calculate pi, but DOESN'T and is just somehow going to be convinced that the standardized concept is good enough? Do you think someone who invents a 4D pi calculation is going to be happy conforming to that or are they going to be resentful and difficult? But here we are at the top of the mountain now looking at the last few stages. All this pi guy has to do is manage his oxygen and heroically place his flag at the summit to get hired. Oh but don't forget to look good for the photo at the top and you should really not be out of breath when the journalists are asking about the trek. Actually, why aren't you asking the journalists how the VTOL ride up here was and learning more about that. This is the most important part of the mountain climb after all, don't worry about the professional mountain climber at the bottom who didn't make it here because he couldn't accurately give the correct amount of particles in the universe off the top of his head.

Hey there, thanks for this video! It's a fresh take, and I will be implementing this mindset while networking going forward. Would you have the time, interest, and ability to do an (almost exact) video that informs adult professionals, who are also felons, feel comfortable being "someone who won't embarrass them"? As I was hitting the share button, I realized this might make my friend feel less confident. Not because of your video -- because of their own concept not self worth. I also realize these videos take time, research and passion😅 so I completely understand if you can't fit the topic into your feed. Thanks again either way - Random Internet Felons Advocate

Communication doesn't take place with the person sending the message. We have loads of control over what we broadcast. We have no control over the listener actually receiving, hearing, comprehending or understanding what we are saying. No matter how clear and concise what we say, it doesn't matter if the other party isn’t present to it, cannot comprehend it, is distracted, is misinterpreting it, is jumping to conclusions, is planning their response, is triggered and taking it in the worst way possible to reinforce their narrative, etc. Communication is improved by the presence, curiosity, patience, compassion, and goodwill of the listener. If we want to be more effective communicators, learn to listen fully and ask for clarity when we are not certain we are understanding. Be a good listening role model. That said, this is a good video for learning to broadcast a more organized and clear message. That is certainly helpful. Communication is not complete until a message is received and accurately understood.

Thanks man Last week i had a meeting with a team that i will lead to develop a software and almost everyone is unexperienced, so i had to explain a lot of concepts to them. At first, I thought it would be a very difficult task, as it took a lot of studying to get to the point I am at, and I had excellent teachers with incredible methods. It ended up that the meeting was a great success, everyone had a very clear understanding and could apply everything they learned. I was also well praised after that. Now with this video i can clearly see what i did right for this to happen I actually applied a lot of what you said there even before watching the video First thing i done was to test my understanding of the subject and put it in practice in a simple and didactic way. Then i wrote down what were the necessary concepts i needed to explain and tried to simplify them so anyone could understand. At the meeting, first thing i done was to spend some minutes explaing what we were gonna discuss (the reason of that meeting) and why it was important. Then i started by very basic things that they should already know (but some of them didn't) and i followed up into more advanced concepts making a connection between each topic so it could make sense. Ended up by showing everything applied in practice with a very simple example. The whole meeting took like half an hour
