- One year after our initial visit to the East Broad Top Railroad, steam has returned in the form of 1916-built "Mikado" No. 16! Named "Nick" in honor of the railroad's savior - scrap merchant Nick Kovalchick - the locomotive is now the regular motive power on the EBT's excursions!
Join us as we follow No. 16 on a regular run from Orbisonia/Rockhill Furnace to Colgate Grove and return. After a twelve year absence, steam whistles echo off the hills of Huntingdon County, PA and they're here to stay!

Great photography & I really appreciate the captions that tell me were the train is at & where it's headed. It helps me learn the features & landscape of the EBT!
EBT is by far one of the easiest lines to follow. Almost all the locations are easy to get to; however the one outside of Groff’s Grove is a private crossing. I was able to obtain permission to film there by a friend who knows the property owner.
I love the bell sound! Love the train set look too.
The consist was very well put together ☺️ The railroad does add/remove cars based on attendance, but this is pretty much the standard.
Wonderful video, Chris!
And a classic childhood memory
Gotta love it!❤ 🚂Lawrence
Thanks for your support, Lawrence!
Multiple likes! One isn't enough!
Nice whistle on her too!
I wonder how the train's schedule will be affect by the extension to Robertsdale
Trains won’t be running to Robertsdale for a while, but they might run two trains a day with two separate consists.
One to Colgate Grove (like they have been) and another to Robertsdale.
For now I’m wondering what they’ll do for the line to Pogue? Push pull service? I would doubt it. Now thinking it would make sense to use a single unit like the M-1.
@@trainmaster844 Makes sense, It would be better that way that just running one train per day
Is the 16 wearing 14s whistle or is it her own
It sounds like 14’s, but supposedly it’s the one from 18.
@@trainmaster844sounds pretty gnarly.
