Cocoa futures prices for next year have already fallen below the current market prices. When supplies from Ivory Coast and Ghana are back onstream in a couple of years, cocoa prices will see a giant crash.
Cocoa cultivation in the long-term is only recommended for those that run a plant for conversion of cocoa beans into cocoa butter and cocoa solids (powder, chocolate).

What would be the minimum area to be planted ( or no of trees) for having a small scale unit of cocoa powder and cocoa batter manufacturing??
@@sebyjoseph3075 If you run bakery/restaurant or cosmetics manufacturing, or any other business that can utilise cocoa butter and cocoa solids, a minimum of 10 acres of cocoa cultivation is recommended. But if you're selling cocoa solids and cocoa butter through wholesale to other manufacturers, atleast 100 acres is recommended, preferably 200 acres to have pricing power in the market. Alternatively, if you're into high-end boutique processing of cocoa butter and cocoa solids for foreign customers (export), atleast 50 acres is recommended.
, minimum acreage is not a requirement if you're utilising the cocoa by-products in your own bakery/restaurant. But if your selling domestically in the wholesale market, I would recommend atleast 100 acres but ideally 200 acres.

Correct. Only grow cocoa if you're interested in setting up plant for conversion of beans into cocoa butter and cocoa solids. Same logic applies to rubber cultivation as well.
Cocoa cultivation is not successful in rubber plantation.

പല കർഷകരും കൊക്കോ പരാജയമാണെന്ന് പറയുമ്പോഴും കൊക്കോയിലൂടെ മികച്ച വരുമാനം നേടുന്ന കർഷകർ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലുണ്ടെന്നുള്ള കാര്യം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണം. എന്തുകൊണ്ട് പരാജയപ്പെടുന്നു, പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ തരണം ചെയ്യാം തുടങ്ങിയ കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെ മുന്നിൽക്കണ്ടു മാത്രമേ കൃഷി വിജയിക്കൂ. അഭ്യസ്ഥവിദ്യരായ ഒട്ടേറെ യുവാക്കൾ ഇന്ന് കൃഷിയിലൂടെ മികച്ച വരുമാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ബിസിനസ് ആയി കൃഷി ചെയ്താൽ നേട്ടമുണ്ടാക്കാം എന്നതാണ് അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാട്.
