@@MrCameron1980 you 100% percent need to be level 24 unlock the engine, you may also might need piloting and ship design but it won't show up until level 24. It'll take you a simple Google search of what level unlocks white dwarf 3015... I'll wait for a sorry or delete your response 👍

yeaaa... the entire 10min start of this could be deleted. This isn't invincible' ship, its 'flee and fight' method.

This is a very old rule, brought up when someone was cleaning up the Mantis for combat. So maybe almost as old as the release date, but maybe it came out within a week of release date.

An addition to that technique is to hold the space bar when you're turning backwards and keep it held down. It causes you to drift. When you do that, you just use thrusters to spin and you keep moving in the same direction at the close top speed of your non boosted velocity. your speed will say "reverse" . So it will take longer for them to catch you and you'll have a bigger window of being able to pummel them.

you can also drift to left/right, i found out enemies likely to miss their shots if you have the momentum while drifting sideways
How do you do that on xbox?
Some weapons use 3 power and some use 4. Since there are 12 power slots per category, you can slot 3x4power or 4x3power. So what I noticed is that if you select 4x 3power guns, even though they have less damage per gun, the TOTAL damage for the array is high. So if it is 18 damage per gun your array of 4 would have total damage of 72, compared to an array of 3 of say 23 damage guns would be total damage of 69...This is obviously not a rule, but something to consider - look at your total damage output per array. You can see these numbers at the bottom of the builder in the first left most block, each number is for W1, W2 and W3 respectively.
Kibbles, you have to press and hold space bar and throttle the ship when you are turning! It's 3x faster!!!
There's one guy that figured ut how to "drift" at nearly full speed while aiming backwards, which would ensure he'd stay out of range from the enemy weapons. He described his technique in his video. We was basicly doing the same as you right here, but with a slightly modified Razorleaf capped at 150 max speed and using nothing more then a set of class A long range plasma weapons to kill that same fleet you fought here.
game mechanics are not exploits. For example, getting your piloting skill up to allow you to use thrusters could greatly help with this- fly away, engage thrusters, go full reverse and fire at the enemies- that's an intended consequent of the game having that featue, not an exploit. you can call a game mechanic broken.

I like A class and think it’s highly underrated. One of my favorite ships at low to mid level is the Spacer Raccoon. With minimal adjustments it rips enemies to shreds. Upgrading the weapons and reactors is really all you need to do. 😃
The racoon is a really fun ship when upgraded.
That's what my current ship is based on
Just get auto electron beams with the highest firerate (5+) and equal damage to hull and shields
Put on as many as you can and just put 3 power in it
The power for auto beam weapons just indicated how fast they reload but do max damage until you finish a full blu bar
Put some other type of auto beam fast fire rate weapon for w1 and you're golden

Yep, Auto cannon, auto beam weapons are overpowered. Took out three pretty high level pirates last night and I was barely level 18. It helped I was in the Razorleaf and they were trying to flee. No one really talks about the benefits of that. Several encounters I’ve had, pirates and spacers either flee or surrender. It’s almost no fun.
With auto beams and auto cannons, you can pretty much just sit there and tank it. The Vanguard auto beams are very OP and low power consumption. You can slap a lot of them on. They are class A and you get them as soon as you join the Vanguard. Absolutely amazing equipment.
Those are my go to ship weapons. Two full arrays of Vanguards and the third one is an EM array (seldom powered up or used).
How do you set up two arrays? That would be insane. Mind blowing even 🤯
If you didn't know, once you have class c piloting you can add the huge reactors from akila city (easiest place to get huge class c reactors). You still want to use class a engines for max speed and mobility. The class c engines are not fast, they just have a ton of power and are good for hauler ships. If you don't want to exploit for ship design parts, to level it just add as many structural parts as you can to a ship temporarily, they count to the unique part total. And to get piloting to level 4 it's super easy. Just do the uc Vanguard first quest and you unlock the flight sim as the mast building, you just have to leave the Sim to add the level and go back in to get more kills. You can actually use this exploit showcased if you want to beat level 6 and get the unique dialog, otherwise just complete up to level 4 and then walk out to reset the Sim. Level 5 isn't super hard with the debug tool, to use that you need to first complete the previous level, then as soon as the next level starts get out of the seat and access the computer in the Sim, enable all the debug tools and reap. It lasts one level only however so save it for level 5.
It lasts for more than one level/tier of the simulator if you hack the Admin thing with the lock symbol and use some of the commands in there. It allows you to make sure the weapon and shield upgrades carry over through the tiers, and can add a second ally.

@@joelbfant There is a key on a table under the other sim station that unlocks the debug tools to allow them to stay on for the entire sim session. No hacking required.
Class C battleship with turrets and skills and you can just fly at them, I found space combat more of a pain than on foot, so I maxed out my ship stuff before I even started on guns, health etc. Cruises at nearly 200, 2500+ shields, 8 turrets with 3500 range and 6 rapid fire guns under direct control for style points and everything you need on 1 level.
Turrets don't fire for me, still have not figured out why =/
@@lohcantfail did you make them face forwards? They have fairly limited firing arcs, a total of about 90 degrees I reckon.
Turrets should be at 180* and if they don’t fire go back to the shop and delete them then put back on. They bug out when you build on your ship after them.
Turrets only fire when I'm locked on the target and in "Target " mode. (I mean press R to bring up the magnified view.) Only then will they auto track and auto fire. Maybe I'm not doing something right???
There is an easier way, for some reason the ai has a hard time with asymmetrical ships in 3d. Just put the cockpit onto one of the wings and make a tower out of vertical engine braces somewhere on the back of the ship, until the game says you hit max height. This will trick the game into thinking you have a really large ship and they will shoot in the center of a virtual cube and miss your ship.

Yeah, I've picked up this snippet in a random comment: this dude just spaced out the ship parts to the extreme corners (max height & width) with structural parts, there's a giant "hole" in the middle. The AI (and your own weapons) always fires into the center of a ship. If there's "nothing" then the AI only can hit "nothing". 😁😁😇😇
Wouldnt it be nice if they had ship blueprints? You can build a special order and pay on it as you get money down the road. Finally getting the ship when its paid off. I have wasted so much money upgrading my ships.
Absolutely best ship build I seen on YT. Few claims they build fastest ship, but only this build is really fast. Only A components and it can do over 1000 on boost.

you should use thrusters while facing away then turn around while holding thrusters to strafe so it allows you to shoot and you don't gave to be as far and keep moving away
Built this ship 2 days ago. Added a little extra cargo, which lowered my mobility, but it's still amazing. I feel like Rocket from Guardians with the maneuverability and straight shrew everything.

If you have done the vanguard quest you can use the vanguard weapons they use two power so you can 6 on it. Nice build :) You can stick the 39 power B reactor in it if you didn't want to just have an A build. It's not an exploit you're just building a faster ship ;)

I build A class ship which kills 4 C class ships in close range with seconds, you just need to face them without fear and destroy two of them directly when they showed up, I boarded around 400 C class ships and no matter if I use A,B or C class ship for that, always in normal difficulty level, its so easy! This technique you showing is only for people that like to run from danger haha, like old AC fan's, I guess people like that.
If you are going to run away for every battle, you should put some auto particle beams facing the rear.
what about building out a hollow center - thats where enemies target -center mass

You made a class b ship using a class b reactor. There is a class A reactor with 33 power. And you should be using 6 Vindicator guns.
B reactor doesn't go on class A ship...

Just use the auto version of the guns, use the ones with only 3 power usage and max out your shields and engine at all times in battle. Weapons only need 1 or 2 for missiles and 3 or 4 for Particle Beams or Autocannons. I have all 3 maxxed out on my ship and run them at the power levels I specified. I never have a problem. My ship is only class A.
I also recommend saving as you go!
if you hold down you can remove all power bars, then hold up to power elsewhere using all bars
Top A class dps is 35meV auto (339.15@max pwr), PBO-50 auto(299.25@max pwr), and the PBO-40 auto (279.3@max pwr), Also two choices, either two pairs of disruptors or one set of disruptors and one set of EM suppressors, (That way once you take down your targets shields, you can disable and capture).
Not the first ship design I've seen that runs on "cheese". ;)
I mainly use 2 sets of 4 turrets and a powerful shield all at 12 power (36 total). I move the remaining power between my 4 plasma guns and engines/grav depending on if I want to attempt participation or flight. I literally can stay immobile while murderhoping the Serpentis system. When I finish leveling my turret skill I'll be even more of a bully. For a challenge, try to level up the targeting systems skill with the 8 turrets build. Locking... too late, lol.

How are you rotating the pieces so they face an different direction?
put a long range turret on - it will always show you the closest enemy (third person view to see it more clearly) - not tried it myself yet.
This ship looks like the Star Trek: DS9 "Jem'Hadar" ships. I made a small ship with 100 mobility/180 speed. It's not tough. Plus, if your playstyle is to pilot ships, then you definitely NEED to dump points into the tech tree, which will make your tiny ship even MORE powerful.
So your invincibility relies on running away

Other solution is 11-12 turrets on a class C reactor, since speed is purely engine class bound. Entire groups of 4 enemies in Serpentis system die before a class A 760 shield can dip under 60%. Often the bigger Va'Ruun ships die 1-2 seconds after appearing. Running a 42x42 100 maneuvering 8 crew 5 passenger pocket warship, over 5,000 cargo, and absolutely nothing can hurt it.
I'm scratching my head wondering why you put so much effort into the build when you're just going to kite them like this. All that matters is low mass, max out engine power, and use long range particle weapons.

I think Class A vs B or C isn't about inferiority, it's a bias towards sleeker and quicker. As opposed to tank ships or big transports. Though I might be wrong as I've not got far yet and use neither exploits or MODs.
So, please correct me if I'm wrong, but this ship is most definitely not invincible; He's merely running away from enemies, then shooting while they are out of range with their weapons. This is more of a combat technique, and very little to do with the ship, with the exception of the speed... Which may not even be all that necessary.
Should learn the flip merge / stack merge techniques to morph everything

tl;dw: invest into speed and max range weapons. When the fight starts boost away, turn 180° and shoot anyone chasing you. Rinse and repeat. You're not invincible, you're just staying outside of enemy's weapon range.
Pro-tip: it's not an exploit if it's an intended use of regular game mechanics with the usual effect. Much more so if it makes the gameplay this boring and tedious.

Is a one flat ship?
It's been proven that more than 7 or 8 pips in PAR weapons is wasted since the power is not determined by the pips, only the refresh speed and above 8 pips is only 1% faster refresh. So you can run them at 8 pips and get 100% of their performance with 99% refresh speed and put those extra 4 points in something else like shields or engines.
Not true. Underpowering your weapons reduces both the damage they do and the rate they refresh as a direct percentage of how much they're underpowered by.
@@Rowgue51 Well, there's a whole group of people on Reddit who studied this, made spread sheets and countless tests and this is what the come up with. More than 7 pips for Beam type weapons is pointless. Like 1% increase in refresh time. Damage is not tied to the number of pips, only refresh time. Argue with them. I'm just passing on what I read and tested.

The ship isn't exactly "INVINCIBLE" if you have to run and stay 4000km away to avoid being blown up. I think what you're demonstrating is an offensive strategy rather than a ship with good defensive capabilities.
Can this be done with the Mantis/Razorleaf?
You can do this with any ship that has decent speed, and long range weapons. Additionally if you have one point into piloting you can hold space bar(if you're on pc) that will enable your thrusters. Allowing you to turn around and keep the same speed giving you a bigger window to destroy their ships.

I think they patched the exploit because whnme iused it to get a better reacter I wsa getting an error saying the modules exceeded the reactor but as soon as iused a different reactor with out the exploit the message was gone

Had the pirate ship but it was a c class and called something else before it changed its own name...
I´ve build a ship smaller than that. Cockpit, 2x1 sleeping thing, ramp, 2 cargo holds, 1 shielded cargo hold, docker, then I put in the thing a C class reactor-shields-hyperdrive-weapons... 4 rail guns, 3 lasers, 2 missile launchers... And man, that ship is cheated, it wipes out everything in seconds.
I agree with the others you're just using hit and runs tactics it's not an invincible ship just a fast one
The ship is not invincible, and this is not exploit.
You simply build fast ship + long range weapon and you always keep the max distance.
If you're trying to go "as low mass as possible" then don't add structural garbage for looks that doesn't also have hull
END GAME SHIP: Class C Reactor with Class A Engines is the way to go. 220+ Top Speed.....900+ Boost Speed...throw on the 2 different Vangard Particle weapons and your golden. If you're lazy, throw on some Particle Auto Turrets...LOL.
"Basic class A ship parts ... ". Some conditions must have to be met You forgot to mention, like a certain level or some skill you have to have. I tried building with a new character without using greyed out parts, but it didn't work at all.

It is not invincible if you have to stay outside of their range. I had a great ship that I stole and upgraded before the patch. I leveled up to NG+7 now I don't have easy money.

The legitimately invincible ship is making your ship a giant vertical hoop with nothing in the middle. All enemy ships will target the center of the hoop and never actually hit your ship. You can literally sit stationary in the middle of the UC/Crimson Fleet battle and never get touched.
Yeah it's retarded and looks stupid, but if you're already going to cheese things anyway and invincibility is what you're going for then that's it.

good guide but too fast. Scrolling, placing modules...in Fallout I´ve never build anything and this ship builder is kinda PITA. I´m level 24 only, but because of this user non-friendly...or maybe for mouse keyboard non-friendly interface I´ve ragequit like 5 times. the thing I miss the most is free floating precise 3D camera with zoom and everything controled by mouse, like directions, angles, zoom simply by rightclick on the part and just moving the mouse around, and not feeling so clumsy like now and keyboard shorcuts served only for category selection...I can even think of dissmissing keyboard entirely in the builder. Probably it´s just me, but spaceship construction was one of the WOW effect of this game I wanna try the most...maybe right after landing on The Moon, but gosh, I hope someone will make some kind of heavily modded better builder.

Ok, I´m fucked up again. I´m trying rotate and flip the second part of Shroud Cap A to place it backwards, (video 2:20) but it rotates or flip just aroud one (longer) axes, not the short one, does not matter if I´m trying to move it with my left mouse and press Z in the precise height, it just does not fit.
EDIT: I hate this builder. Really do...how am I suppose to know that I have to switch by using arrow key on that part to change on the same part but with switched orientation ffs? No explanation in game, in video is used words like "duplicate" that item..etc Just How? There is no visible shortcut, no combination with ctrl, alt, shift or with click or pressing another keys. Nada. Sorry but this video slips to to category "From pros to pros". And yes. I´m enraged. I´m literally hour and half ingame and I have build tiny litttle part of the ship like in 2:30 mins of this video.
Bad design. Really bad. And I love this game and it makes me cry of frustration BECAUSE RIGHT AFTER I FIGURED IT OUT THE GAME CRASHED!!!
