It actually is amazing that Charlie saw Eddie's talent before the world did, I remember on Delerious, when Eddie gave reference to how funny Charlie was, he said his brother was the funniest one in the family next to their DAD!

When he leaves this world he wants people to be sad he's gone, not happy. That's when he changed his way of thinking about life.
