As sad as it is, I don't think it would recognize her anymore. According to the lore from Samus Returns, metroids naturally bond to the first living thing(s) they see when they hatch and the Chozo took advantage of this to use them as bodyguards on SR388. As soon as the metroids turned into alphas, they became feral and attacked the Chozo. I wonder, maybe the metamorphosis process distorts their memories?

Game over. The game boy version is hard and pushes to collect everything or you won't win in the end. Those were the days of being careful were you save otherwise you have to play the game all over again.

When that happens, morph into ball form and leap into her mouth. She'll swallow you and then you need to spam as many Bombs as possible. This deals MASSIVE DAMAGE. You don't need to find every power up. Just some Missiles, Bombs and some skill. Or maybe I just spent WAY too much time playing this on gameboy back in the day. 😂

Just shoot when she charges at you with her mouth open, she will be stunned for a bit so you can enter her mouth and stomach in ball form. There plant some bombs. It takes 10 bombs to blow her up from the inside. So you actually don't have to collect missiles at all.
It's easy, the moment you got her patterns. Honestly, I didn't know that she could be killed by letting the queen swallow you until today, like 21 years later. When she's about to attack you with her mouth open, i hit the b button as fast as I can and she freezes like instantly letting you spam more and more missiles. You can kill her in under 10 or 15 secs provided she does that attack earlier and you've collected as many missile as you could get.
Wolfendesign Metroids are harder, the Omega looks less like a cylinder with legs, and the Queen is both bigger and has new attacks. It also takes 3 power bombs instead of just one.
It's not better. Samus is made entirely too glass jawed. I think the dev team were spending too much time playing Dark Souls and not enough time playing Super, Prime, Fusion, and Zero Mission.
holy shit, i'm not kidding i also teabagged, on the same place, after dying 3 times, that Queen Metroid deserved it (though it was very kind of her part to give away so many refills)
Not bragging but i beat the queen metroid on my first try each time i did it, but it was still hard. Luckily she always gives you pickups so it isnt too bad.
As much as I enjoyed Samus Returns, which is essentially the same game, it really is a shame what Nintendo did to this game. This boss fight was really well done.

I'm more surprised you played it through a second time. My own run through it was a nightmare and I was completely stressed by the time I finally beat Ridley. I swore to never play again.

@@SmokingSpoon Fir me it was a nightmare of a fight. It took me multiple tries and having all the pickups didn't make it any easier for me. Things got easier when I noticed that there was a counter able attack in his arsenal but it took me a while to notice it because of how stressful the fight was. That fight and the robot fight really make the game not all that fun for me plus decisions to fill areas that Metroids occupied with normal mobs immeadiatetly after their defeat made back tracking tedious, I also found there to be way too many in certain areas especially near the end which lessened my enjoyment. Plus the Ridley fight feels like it goes on for way too long for me.

I had other problems when I played like my 3ds being old and the grip on the joy stick having been just super worn down over the years and maybe wasn't the most responsive, and even after I figured out the counter I still had trouble since I took all my focus to keep up with Ridley who just felt like he got faster and faster. I found that I couldn't beat him before he killed me or I ran out of ammo without the counter, and even then I struggled. I'm probably reading myself too much but the Ridley fight had me in a constant state of anxiety and stress, more than the robot fight did and that was like an obstacle course.

Yes, you're right. (and with other weapons too, because, for some reason, her protection just......goes off.) But, i used PB for two reasons: 1- Because I saw someone using her on the boss in a livestream last day. 2- This is the same way to kill her in Other M. :P
Ian Shahan yea. i killed it with regular bombs and it just makes a small poof. then i did it with samus in her mouth while shooting super missles. same small poof. the power bomb is the only one that does that
My first save file in AM2R was in Hard Mode like the dummy I am. Oh boy those 6-8 hours were worth it (I died a lot). Then I found beautiful water falls that lead me to the final boss. I found out I only got 95% of items. After beating the Metroid Queen my first attempt with low health (like the scrub I am), I looke around SR#88 for missed items. Nope, no clue. ;-;

I'm having a problem with the queen. I'm using version 1.5.2 on my android and in the queen battle when she grabs me in her mouth and I go to morphball but I can't move or even drop power bombs in her mouth (even though I have 20 power bombs in stock) so she spits me out and then kills me the 2nd time. I can lay regular bombs but my morphball wont go down her throat. Wtf is wrong?

There's only 1 diference about one and another: When she dies. P.S: The wrong way is almost identical to the original death in GB version. In the right way, it's a new one (because of power bombs) for those who have seen the battle against her in Other M. :D (if you shoud check out on YT).

got through it the first time I tried, but considering I grew up on super Metroid, and zero mission, and re-playing super Metroid recently, i was pretty good. my favourite thing to do is wall jump, you can get to some places early if you're good at it.
To be honest bro.........this record is my first attempt to kill the queen. Do not be sad if she is being very difficult for you, because I already know how to deal with metroid games. :V

Link Tahuterasu Spirit (Lixkn number: XLVII) now that I remember, I did get Metroid II Return Of Samus on the eshop about 2 years ago. so I guess I already had the strategy down, lol. I got an emulated version for my computer, (I found one WITH color, imagine that!) downloaded a map of the game from a walkthrough site, then played through it. to me, the queen wasn't as hard as she was in the original. she dealt alot more damage and took around 200 missiles alone to kill her.
Do not get me wrong, but man, is a gameboy game. Despite its idea and concept, it is ugly as hell and just went out for the Gameboy. Sooner or later would have to release this kind of remake.

Nope, this isn't a romhack. The only thing oficial they have used is the Sprites from Zero mission. (and even that, have been reworked). And.....good point.
Remakes like this are necessary. Zero Mission is a good example. The originals may not have had a fluid enough game play or a good ebough set up for a good stroyline. Games like this add to the storyline in an even better way and give new age players a chance to experuence an old game rehashed.
I don't see what there is to protect when no other company has lost its IP to fan games/shirts/art/other stuff. Nintendo has the right to take it down, doesn't mean they have to. For me, I believe it'd be cool if they allowed it to stay up or at least congratulate the creator on all his work, but I can't say they are asses for doing so... they have the right to.
it is their ip. they need to protect that. if anyone else takes that and uses it whether good or bad, nintendo should not allow that. what if at the end of the game it says "fuck all you faggoty pieces of shit" that could affect nintendo badly, seeing as it reflects their owned ip. they need to protect from that. and just because it is a well made game doesn't mean shit. the devs should have known this from the start and just named it something different and change some of the details etc. could have been a good indie title release on a nintendo system
I never played Metroid 2 because I frankly believed the gameboy is horrible for such a game. I am very happy I waited so many years to play the game as AMR2 because the game was amazing! Nintendo sucks and they should have hired DoctorM64 and entire team to make new games for DLC or even better yet another GOOD Metroid Game!
metroid 2 was made specifically for the gameboy. the kind of game that metroid II is is inextricably one for the gameboy and it utilizes and accomplishes things that only the original gameboy could have.

The way Samus moves looks like it's been directly stolen from either Metroid Zero Mission or Fusion. The art style on the backgrounds also looks a LOT like Zero Mission. For these reasons (and a bunch of others) I consider the official Metroid 2 remake better than this fan-made game. It feels like the true evolution of 2d Metroid games. AM2R is just treading the path we've already seen. A tip for the developer: Despite my complaints, you have talent. Next time build something original, will you? You could actually earn money from that as well.
The whole point of AM2R is that it remakes Metroid 2 in a Zero Mission-esque style of art and gameplay, which it did an amazing job at Samus Returns presented a different idea for a remake, where it basically completely overhauled the art stylr, as well as added two important mechanics, for better or worse
Everyone has their own opinions. I haven't played played the 3DS version yet, but considering the fact that this game was made by a team of less than 5 people while Nintendo's was like 30+, this is a godlike game.
@@notcreativename1285 I did. I played all the way to Ridley and fought him several times before giving up since I had seen everything the game had to offer. I obtained 100% of the collectables and got to the last phase of the fight with Ridley. The whole game was a complete waste of time. And there are a ton of reasons for it. It really doesn't rise to the level of quality that the past 2D games have had since Super except in graphics. There are other videos on youtube that explain most of the issues.

Amazing remake of the queen metroid battle however the fight feels really lame and doesn't seem like the right circumstances are given to show off the full capabilities of what the queen metroid should be capable of! Personally I found that the best strategy for defeating the Queen Metroid is shooting it until it dies.

Technically, you could use Morph Ball Bombs throughout the entire fight, if you have no missiles left.

Ian Shahan yea. i killed it with regular bombs and it just makes a small poof. then i did it with samus in her mouth while shooting super missles. same small poof. the power bomb is the only one that does that
My first save file in AM2R was in Hard Mode like the dummy I am. Oh boy those 6-8 hours were worth it (I died a lot). Then I found beautiful water falls that lead me to the final boss. I found out I only got 95% of items. After beating the Metroid Queen my first attempt with low health (like the scrub I am), I looke around SR#88 for missed items. Nope, no clue. ;-;
Also I did the power bomb in the belly because of Other M (rip my childhood for being my first metroid game) and also I though I couldn't kill her when I was trapped in her mouth. *W O R T H I T*
I'm always slow but effective in Metroidvanias. I took 18 hours in my first run but got 93 percent
I'm having a problem with the queen. I'm using version 1.5.2 on my android and in the queen battle when she grabs me in her mouth and I go to morphball but I can't move or even drop power bombs in her mouth (even though I have 20 power bombs in stock) so she spits me out and then kills me the 2nd time. I can lay regular bombs but my morphball wont go down her throat. Wtf is wrong?
That's probably a bug from this build. This video was recorded 1 day after the launch, so this bug doesn't exist.

I used. But the tractor beam has a limited range, so i can't get more closer because of the queen.
Let it take bite at you, morph ball, get into it's belly and blow it up with POWER BOMB
Why "wrong way to kill the Queen"? I know you can finish her with missiles, but... why not with Power Bomb?
You have to set it off inside of her. It makes for a better overall climax.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the difference between the good and the bad way? I mean is it some kind of an bad ending if you just blow her mouth? (I've just done the right way to kill her and had the ending that lead to Super Metroid^^)
There's only 1 diference about one and another: When she dies.
P.S: The wrong way is almost identical to the original death in GB version.
In the right way, it's a new one (because of power bombs) for those who have seen the battle against her in Other M. :D (if you shoud check out on YT).

and yet they are re-releasing all their old games on newer consoles, and just put out samus returns.

got through it the first time I tried, but considering I grew up on super Metroid, and zero mission, and re-playing super Metroid recently, i was pretty good. my favourite thing to do is wall jump, you can get to some places early if you're good at it.

well now i can beat her almost no problem, it just took awhile to get the timings right to doge stuff like the head-bashing attack, and well a lot of the bosses in this game gave me troubles...hu kind of reminds me of when i first got Metroid fusion
Link Tahuterasu Spirit (Lixkn number: XLVII) now that I remember, I did get Metroid II Return Of Samus on the eshop about 2 years ago. so I guess I already had the strategy down, lol. I got an emulated version for my computer, (I found one WITH color, imagine that!) downloaded a map of the game from a walkthrough site, then played through it. to me, the queen wasn't as hard as she was in the original. she dealt alot more damage and took around 200 missiles alone to kill her.

The only thing oficial they have used is the Sprites from Zero mission. (and even that, have been reworked). And.....good point.
Remakes like this are necessary. Zero Mission is a good example. The originals may not have had a fluid enough game play or a good ebough set up for a good stroyline. Games like this add to the storyline in an even better way and give new age players a chance to experuence an old game rehashed.

They're mostly mad at Nintendo taking this down without doing anything for the Metroid franchise themselves. Up until now that is.
I don't see what there is to protect when no other company has lost its IP to fan games/shirts/art/other stuff. Nintendo has the right to take it down, doesn't mean they have to.
For me, I believe it'd be cool if they allowed it to stay up or at least congratulate the creator on all his work, but I can't say they are asses for doing so... they have the right to.

it is their ip. they need to protect that. if anyone else takes that and uses it whether good or bad, nintendo should not allow that. what if at the end of the game it says "fuck all you faggoty pieces of shit" that could affect nintendo badly, seeing as it reflects their owned ip. they need to protect from that. and just because it is a well made game doesn't mean shit. the devs should have known this from the start and just named it something different and change some of the details etc. could have been a good indie title release on a nintendo system
I never played Metroid 2 because I frankly believed the gameboy is horrible for such a game. I am very happy I waited so many years to play the game as AMR2 because the game was amazing! Nintendo sucks and they should have hired DoctorM64 and entire team to make new games for DLC or even better yet another GOOD Metroid Game!
metroid 2 was made specifically for the gameboy. the kind of game that metroid II is is inextricably one for the gameboy and it utilizes and accomplishes things that only the original gameboy could have.

I recently found the and play it on 1.5 and let me tell you....... this fight on fusion difficulty is a bitch.....
The way Samus moves looks like it's been directly stolen from either Metroid Zero Mission or Fusion. The art style on the backgrounds also looks a LOT like Zero Mission. For these reasons (and a bunch of others) I consider the official Metroid 2 remake better than this fan-made game. It feels like the true evolution of 2d Metroid games. AM2R is just treading the path we've already seen.
A tip for the developer: Despite my complaints, you have talent. Next time build something original, will you? You could actually earn money from that as well.

Samus Returns presented a different idea for a remake, where it basically completely overhauled the art stylr, as well as added two important mechanics, for better or worse

Everyone has their own opinions. I haven't played played the 3DS version yet, but considering the fact that this game was made by a team of less than 5 people while Nintendo's was like 30+, this is a godlike game.
Also MSR shit the bed on gameplay and fun. AM2R is by far the superior metroid game. MSR might be better than Other M. I've only dabbled with Other M

@@notcreativename1285 I did. I played all the way to Ridley and fought him several times before giving up since I had seen everything the game had to offer. I obtained 100% of the collectables and got to the last phase of the fight with Ridley. The whole game was a complete waste of time. And there are a ton of reasons for it. It really doesn't rise to the level of quality that the past 2D games have had since Super except in graphics.
There are other videos on youtube that explain most of the issues.

Amazing remake of the queen metroid battle however the fight feels really lame and doesn't seem like the right circumstances are given to show off the full capabilities of what the queen metroid should be capable of! Though I wouldnt want to be forced into such cramped conditions with her either.
