This guy has a good perspective on life. He's only worry about today, not tomorrow, not the future. As an immigrant from Cambodia, living in the US, and has a pretty good job, a house and a family, I'm always stressed out about the future. Am I saving enough money for my kids education? Do I have enough money in my retirement account? Maybe I should move back and live life like him.
Thanks for sharing your experience in the US. I totally see that in Europe as well. I hope people in general “in the west” change that mindset a bit as I believe it makes people more worried in life.
The message here is living within your mean, and don’t splurge beyond your ability and your life will be at peace. Also, pls be happy when you know someone is successful in life.
I love this French man! I am 73, planning on moving permantly to SR this year. I have been to Cambodia but only to Ankor Watt but have researched SR for 2 years and know it's my new home, not California anymore! He just makes all my research on Cambodia true! I have been multiple times for extended stays in VN, Thailand, etc. so know Cambodia is my dream, definitely not retirement in USA
He is a living a poor life I don't think so Chai away from the hectic and city chaos he is living a healthy and tension free life in this beautiful place❤ Chai, it's a dream life for many of us. Nice episode by the way 🌸💕❤💯✌👌👍
A simple life, financially secure . The perfect situation which, in retirement is very tempting. Great interview this one Chai. Loving the variety in the channel content . Well done you two. Have fun. 🤩
I like and respect his perspective in life. Simple life can lead you to more happiness. Once again thank Chai for making the world see life in a different perspective through your lens.
Cambodia seems to have everything you need. I guess at my age I should be concerned that they don't have the best medical there but being simple and carefree is great for your health. (I saw you on Bangkok Pat today)
Ey mate, I can see where your concern is coming from. I believed in the last two decades they have been improving the private healthcare majorly. I think I should make a video about this some day as I think more people are concerned about this 🙂 aha! I’ll have a look at Pats channel today!
He is right I mad 4000 Canadian. Amont. Every month I had nothing left. Pay to much bills. So stressed. If. I make 500$ in Cambodia I would be happy no stress
@@Chai_TravelI believe he meets all the requirements to apply for citizenship by naturalization based on 1) he has been living in Cambodia for more than 7 years, 2) he speaks Khmer and hopefully he reads Khmer and has basic knowledge of Khmer history and culture 3) be able to obtain certificate of good conduct and ethics. Looks like he is a good family man and good neighbor so I won’t see an issue.
When I was young, I always wish to live in City but now life is so boring I just wish to live normal in seashore areas or mountains areas like a villager. I used to be a farmer I know what it is like and I miss it.
yes, instead of showing off wealth maybe take care of other people and or at least stay humble most countries could learn from these sentiments... especially America which regardless of which aisle one is, has become very materialistic.
As a French man, can you teach French in Cambodia a former French protectorate? As a Khmer Canadian, I haven't been back to Cambodia yet. Hopefully one day.
@@Chai_Travel i can really relate to that guy. It's about , ( the only term i could think of to describe this ) , is "soul searching". Choosing a place to live is something else and it's where we feel belong and can be ourselves and do our best to serve whatever purpose we think we have in life. Which is not the same as pure "travelling" - which , of course depends on the purpose of the travel, can be done almost anywhere in the world.
He will have zero pension in France when he gets old. He is not contributing in France, so will not qualify. 😮 His children will carry the burden. Not a forward planner but "up to him".
when people have to spend all their time working and most of their money to pay taxes and then when home drinking, drugging to cope with the stress it may not be ideal though the government claims it is there to help... France was one of the countries that gave Remdesivir (a known deadly agent) to vulnerable patients as a genocide of the elderly... I know this first hand because my uncle was executed at the hospital which waited three days to tell my cousin he was even in the hospital..
@@Chai_Travel +1 I think a lot of people who step out of life in their western country DON'T KNOW that. If you don't pay in, you can't take out. It would be interesting to ask this question in upcoming interviews: "What's going to happen when you get old?"

he lives such a humble lifestyle and he seems very content.😊 i wish he will always stay happy and safe.
Thanks from Cambodia for sharing 🇰🇭🇰🇭❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏
Thank you too!

You can have basic health checkup at the clinics and adopt healthy lifestyle if heath is your priority.

Welcome to you guy ! Your life style is perfect. Of course, even though you have a professional job you can live easily.
Perfectly put.
He seems happy with his life in Cambodia.
Very content 🙂 Thanks for watching again

I am happy for him when. I retired I go back to Cambodia. Live there
Me too -no more Santa Barbara-Cambodia is real & gives me hope!
Bonjour ❤🎉
His advice is like many Cambodians would give .
He's got the right idea.....because, that's what I want to do, also.
Sound good Gerhard :D
Would be interested to know if he gained citizenship, which I understand is quite difficult. If not, what is the visa situation.
Cheers Mark. He actually told me this as well and that’s one thing he doesn’t really like. He has to arrange his visa once a year in Phnom Penh.

300$ a year multi entry poss need business visa to work
Good inside information from barrang man 😂
It is important to live life, rather than live in a rat race.

A simple life is the best way of life. Having less to Western standards is more than enough to live happily.

If you really think deep enough about this guy and compare it, he’s living a rich life, not talking about $$$$

I think he’s very content with what he’s doing right now 🙂 I hopes you’re able to manage to come over 🤗

Depending on family can be a good thing if the parents and kids have a good relationship.

He chooses to live the Khmer way and to my understanding vast majority of them don’t know pensions.
