When I was a younger man, I could just put on my Backpack and wander off into the wilderness. I enjoyed just being in this beautiful part of nature. At the same time, I would wish that this friend of lady friend would be with me to enjoy it too. Fast forward to now, I know that if I didn't find the place we now live in,I probably wouldn't enjoy my life as much as I do now. I am surrounded by nature, I get critters coming into my yard that I have never seen before. I now get some of my expat friends want to come for a visit. All of them have been good people. Thats why life for me in the Philippines have been great for us. I hope you find that peace.

A main reason many expats come here is to find a nice Filipina to settle down with. But if you are miserable alone, you will probably only make your potential Filipina miserable with you instead of bringing you happiness. I have been alone most of my life. Being alone here is no different. When you get older, finding friends becomes harder and harder, especially if you are retired. You aren't forced into social interactions through work or through school activities when in college. I think the worst part about being alone when you are older is more of a safety issue than a happiness issue. Do you have someone that is going to check on you regularly to see that you are ok? The question that always goes through my head is, "If I had a heart attack, how long would it be before someone found my body?"

About 10 years ago I had a funny incident when alone that made me think “ what if it was more serious” short story is that I got stuck in my bathroom after a shower and had to break through the door. I thought “ what if I had slipped and broke my hip or hit my head” nobody else was around and I didn’t have a cell phone yet.
I live alone but not lonely I keep myself busy like clean my apt. , cook my meal, wash my clothes, read a book and so on. I don’t ballroom anymore since Covid. Just be happy Alex and make yourself happy 😊. May Gd Bless.
My take is that I do alone very well. I do get bored sometimes, but people got to be in a good place with their self before they can enjoy being alone at times being alone and being lonely is two different things. People need to know the different
Being able to be by yourself is ultimately related to self actualization. Are you comfortable being in your skin without being dependent on others? It’s an interesting idea if you look at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the idea of self transcendence. Change and impermanence are constant. Not being dependent on others reflects maturity, growth, a strong sense of self, the ability to navigate through change more readily. Enlightenment.
Did you notice the Swastika Symbol graffiti on the wall in 6:55? *The swastika is a controversial symbol. While it historically represented peace and auspiciousness in many cultures, its use here could be interpreted as either innocent or an intentional provocation if the negative connotation was intended.*
It’s there. Maybe Kimy painted it. Their name was next to it twice. Wanna be gang bangers. Definitely eye opening and real. Funny the sign earlier asking people not to urinate on the sidewalk 😂 😂

Being alone is a concept that takes some adjustment to embrace. The media, our parents, social circles, all believe that you have to be paired with another. So you try that. It ends in divorce or a split. Or maybe it doesn't, and good for those who can stay paired. But ultimately, being alone is a blessing if you are not happily tied to someone.
