If by "often can't sing" you are talking about lyrical singing then you are right. Almost none pop singer cant sing like that. But Mariah, Celine, Whitney, Kelly Clarkson, Jojo, Brandy, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato can sing as good as her and some even better. You may not like pop, that doesn't mean all popular singers are bad.
