- Jordi Savall and his two children playing (with a very gentle touch)
Diego Ortiz's Recercada primera sobre el "passamezzo antico"
Jordi Savall - Viola da gamba
Arianna Savall - Harp
Ferran Savall - Theorbo
You can hear everything with beautiful phrasing and tone quality, and it isn't just because its well miked. Savall is a master musician.
What a masterpiece I’ve been listening to this for years and this is still one of the best things I’ve ever heard I can’t get tired of this
Jordi Savall is lucky to have such talented children. Thanks so much for sharing.
DIEGO ORTIZ
( Toledo 1510-1570 Napoli )

Wunderschöne Musik! Wohlklingende Instrumente, besonders die Theorbe!
Jordi Savall is absolutely the God of Early Western European Music. Period.

Amazing musicality!Amazing music!
i LOVE HIM!
Este hombre hace un muy buen trabajo, es seco. Creo que vino a Chile en los 90. Que venga de nuevo!!
that's wonderful! what a great example, it's only a pity it ends so abrupt.
Thank you for posting this.
Je ne m'en lasse pas!
They're wonderful musicians. Thanks for posting this.

Savall living the dream... Good music, musician children to share it with :)
It's so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
just lovely!!
tiene magia y mucho "duende" Jordi Savall....un músico GRANDE
Sublime. Thank you.
Si si si .. realmente bello, como dice Maria de Bsas..que talento!
Beautiful !! Phalaïna
Une musique envoûtante jouée par des grands interprètes.
Love it!
baroque music spans about 150 years (1600-1750). Ortiz only lived from 1510-1570. Renaissance spanned from about 1400 to 1600.
que musica tan hermosa
Scripturus, thanks. I will take a look.
You are both right. Theorbo and Chitarrone are synonyms. I've only heard them called chitarroni in Europe, however. Perhaps it's just a difference in word choice. I played a chitarrone in Leipzig last year, and it looked absolutely nothing like either the guitar or the ukelele.
thanks for the indication, that's the way it ought to be. (but anyhow my interpretations are legally put on RUclips)
familia extraordinária bem aja
Wonderful!
Love it! I think that those three people who disliked it has brain damage!
❤️💕💕💕
And of course in England the 'large lute' was of the Archlute (in my view nearer the Chitarrone than the Theorbo...)
It's over! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :(
Y qué buena está la hija...
It's a beautiful video. Why quibble?
his son is a very good singer but i can't find a vid of him :S
I love this piece! If anyone knows of a cd where this is on (only with the savalls) please let me know?
@violin245 LOL! I wish I were invited to them!
Worst part... Cut off'd ending.... Beautiful playing.
This film has been taken out of our film "Jordi Savall und die Stimme der Gambe" - further informations look at the webside of inpetto-filmproduktion.de
This isn't Baroque, it's Renaissance.
Scripturus, thanks to your help I've been able to look specifically for one CD, namely: Recercadas del Trattado de Glosas
However it seems to be sold out everywhere!!??? ARRGHH x_x I want it!!!!
Can anything be done? Can it be downloaded instead?
isn´t it gaspar sanz´s ricercare
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For an instant I was tempted to press the 'dislike' button, only because this piece is so short. I get lost in this melody in a way that makes me want it never to end.
But the three interpreters are...
ERIC CANTONA? :O
ajajaja
its a chitarrone not a theorbe
Crappy video, good sound: but why go, stupidly, behind the wrought-iron gate and hide the musicians? And we're missing seeing Jordi playing some of the most complex passages while the lens is on the harp and theorbo: and we're not even seeing their fingers at work! And what's with the chop-off? I'm sure all the viewers and listeners would love to hear the proper ending, with concomitant reverb, and a couple of seconds at at the end!
Great Savall!!!!
I have this piece....wonderfull!
