- 10 Most Dangerous Cities in Canada 2024.
Canada, nicknamed The Great White North, is a major tourist destination for many people, especially Americans. It’s convenient, full of great activities, charming towns, polite people, and an endless number of lakes and mountains.
With a population of 40.10 million people, our Canadian friends produce 80% of the world’s maple syrup and hockey is their national sport. While Canada is considered one of the safest countries in the world overall (ranked the 4th safest by US News), it’s not without some areas where crime rates are high. The most dangerous places are not the big cities you may think of either.
We’ve complied with data from various sites like Numero, US News and World Report, and Statistica to bring you a list of the top 10 most dangerous cities in Canada.
Kindly make sure to hit the subscribe button and press the bell icon before we start this video about the 10 most dangerous cities in Canada in 2024.

Not True, I think everywhere now is dangerous..😅😅😅
In the world, you are right but Canada still is the safest place on the planet.
Once we cross the border we are in danger.
Yes, crime is everywhere but there's worse and worst.
@@elrubeno2000 Stop living under a rock! Lol
@@elrubeno2000 We are not a safe country anymore and you can thank a Liberal for that
Not surprised Brampton Trudeau brought India to town
Yes too much
how did he do that Sherlock
@@tony66088 elementary my dear Watson he let them in over one million
@eugeniopannozzo4217 I guess you have a link, or is it a number you made up
@tony66088 look it up funny 😁 man
Canada should build new modern cities in open spaces/in infertile areas instead of creating modern slums/ adding new housing to bigger cities. They are destroying good farm land areas close to bigger cities at current and making hard for people to travel around on time.
This list is completely misleading. You should be looking at the violent crime index, not overall crime, to determine what cities are the most dangerous. If I had to guess Edmonton, AB and Saskatoon, SK would be on there.
I agree with you, a lot of commenters are saying the same thing. The AI voice gives it away, someone who’s never been to Canada and lives far away. They do minimal research and create lies for click bait. Lazy, brainless good for nothings that just want to make easy money producing junk RUclips channels. Hamilton ON, Montreal PQ, Halifax NS, Toronto ON Jane/ Finch. But these cities have had rough areas for many years. The key factor is they’re all port of entry by marine cities which have always been centres for organized crime, drug smuggling, stolen vehicle smuggling, and sex trafficking.
JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PORT CITY IN THE WORLD!
Kamloops bc😢
I living 12 years in Ontario …never back in Ontario … so most dangerous poor people …expensive rent …food and gas …dangerous people ask money all time service public so bad and not to much open mind and about language nothing there …is best is Quebec and Yellowknife 👍
Much love from Sudbury Ontario Canada
No matter what, there's still less crime in Canada than US.
That’s true!
Currently, crime rates are surging, exacerbated by unchecked immigration. However, our cultural diversity is Canada's strength...
@@ericpinard total lies immigrants commit less crimes than people born here and are under represented in the criminal justice system, most of us are educated and have good jobs bozo

Watching from Brampton, Ontario, Canada ❤❤❤❤❤
Also investigate the amount of murdered missing indigenous women and men in Canada. You could do a whole idea on that topic alone.
As a native Winnipeger now living in New Brunswick (east coast of Canada), I found your content very interesting and informative. Can never be too careful in some places. Just a little friendly help on pronunciation…..
Oshawa is pronounced OSH-a-waw and Sault St. Marie is pronounced SOO St. Marie…..if I remember right from my childhood travels I believe it’s sometimes referred to “the SOO”. That’s a few decades ago, so my apologies if that’s changed.😊
thanks saved me from sending that friendly reminder.
Hockey is not the Canadian national sport. Lacrosse is. Just FYI.
@@JoshKennedy-wu7ye Uhh, I knew that, but, it wasn’t me that made the comment about our national sport, although I do remember your fact from a while ago.
The reason it wasn't pronounced correctly is because of the useless "AI" voice. It's not a real person speaking.
I liked the way he pronounced Oshawa
Thompson, Manitoba should be on that list.
Don’t know who made this list but it’s totally misleading lot of lies
What exactly are lies? Just some examples, We live in Winnipeg and I can tell you stuff that's happened to us and our neighbors lol
@@charlesb7831 I never felt Winnipeg unsafe when I studied at U of Manitoba. However, there was a bus driver who got murdered by a random person at the bus terminal on campus. It was scary.
@lighthouse3731 I've had 8 bikes stolen, stabbed 1 and mugged 3 times. My son just 2 years ago, a guy walked off the sidewalk when he was riding his bike , walked in front of him, grabbed his front brake, told him to get off the bike or he'll stab him. That was on Scotia st. I've lived here all my life. I have 2 friends that are Police officers and belive me, you clearly don't know what's going on in the city. The news absolutely doesn't report everything that goes on. My wife now is a manager at a grocery store, evey day people walking out of the store with carts full of items, when there approached they threatened violence or flat out beat the shit outa security. Couple months ago in her store security was asking 5 kids to leave because they were steeling, 4 of them beat the shit outa him while the 5th recorded it. My son gets threatened all the time on the bus, it's a joke. If you never leve the house or venture out around the city, your not experiencing anything. Sorry but Winnipeg is not what it once was by any stretch of the imagination. Not as bad as some cities, but still bad on its own. Hence why it's been the murder capital of Canada several times.
its about as accurate as hockey is our national sport. i knew right away this video was bogus.
Was Waiting 4 You To Mention Toronto
I am waiting for Montréal Québec 😂😂😂
Are you talking about Oshawa pronounced osh a waw
and "Sawlt" St Marie
It's a text speech app It's very not smart when trying to pronouncing unusual words

Ottawa should be #1

Every where is dangerous for living if you don't have any good behaviors with your environment. 😮
@@aurorarodriguez7072 I don't think that's what Commenter meant about Ottawa being #1 lol
Great video and channel -- liked and subscribed!
Surrey is not Canada
I'm surprised that Grande Prairie, AB didn't make this list. I thought it was going to be #1. Has GP calmed down in the 11 years since I moved here from Windsor?
Not even close,,, Try Regina Saskatoon, North battleford Prince Albert....
Years ago Brampton was a great place to live, I lived at my aunt's house and went to Sheridan college.Geez, I wonder what happened 🤔
I assume it's the Davis campus you're referring to, right?
@@TheGore1021 ,Yes,the Davis campus
@@Orionisme123 Makes sense.
Prime Minister immigration policy allowing millions of indian student to come, study and work . When there are not many jobs then crime rate is increased.
Now Even Toronto, Northyork and Mississauga are not a safe place .Autotheft and stabbing are very high.
Watching from Fort Severn, Ontario
Yeah just TO superb
I am not surprised that Lethbridge, aka Methbridge, was added to the list. The crime rate is off the charts
In the case of Winnipeg, exercise care if you're:
1) West of the Red River and
2) North of the Assinaboine River
There's a reason we say, "Better safe than Surrey" in BC.
I believe that Surrey should take the number one spot as it is scary! There have been so many shootings and stabbings in my area(between around Newton Exchange to Scottsdale Exchange), it's crazy! I've heard things that sound like fire crackers but may actually be guns going off!
Crime has no boundaries. Pointless to say this is the top 10 most dangerous.
How can Hamilton be on the unsafe list and also on the safest list??
AI robot voice. That should be added to the crime index.
The most dangerous city is Ottawa, by far. That's where the House Of Commons is.
Where’s Toronto. Where did you get your info from. Mis-information
Yes where is Toronto and Montreal?
Omg lol where are you from

I live in Edmonton and Edmonton has always been nicknamed "Deadmonton" for its many homicides we get each year. In 2011 Edmonton had 55 homicides
Just like Lethbridge, where I live, has been nicknamed Methbridge with all of the meth addicts smoking the shit
@@annetteslife I lived in Oakville for college and there’s a reason why it was called Cokeville. Very safe there though.
@@BruceOp 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@BruceOp It's nicknamed "Cokeville" and you say it's safe there lol 🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣. So does that mean Coke is safe? 🤣🤣😂😂🤭🤭
It is nicknamed deadmonton not for crime rates but for boring bogus atmosphere in there.
Can’t even say the names correctly, false info
Narration is all AI now. Pronunciations are always screwed up!
I live in British Columbia and went to Surrey once and got mugged.
I think Winnipeg is closer to number one for dangerous cities in Canada. It’s run down areas are a lot larger than most Canadian cities run down areas. He also said that you will never run out of things to do in Winnipeg. He is completely wrong. I live in Winnipeg and let me tell you. I’m simply dying of boredom. It is an extremely monotonous lifestyle to live in Winnipeg because of the lack of high key attractions and it’s severe isolation from other major cities. I’m surprised Saskatoon, Regina, and Thompson are not on the list because I know those cities have a higher crime rate with Thompson being the worst in Canada. I doubt that Surrey, Kelowna or Brampton has that much crime. He didn’t even explain what kind of crime happens in Brampton. Also Brampton does not have over 800,000 residents. It’s around 700,000.
I live in Edmonton and I call Edmonton Winnipegs twin brother
Surrey has loads of drug addicted people wondering around and south Asian gang violence daily
How would us news know anything about Canada .
Thought it said Not the big cities? These are big cities
Im suprised moncton new brunswick is not in this list
I lived and seen vehicles. Heard siren going to Surrey and Port Moody
Okay! Now I know why Surrey BC needs two police forces 😂
Ahshaw-Wah 🤣🤣🤣 (Osh-A-Wah)
Salt-Saint-Marie 🤣🤣 (Sue-Saint-Marie)
Sault Saint Marie is French bud so it's not pronounced Sue at least for French speaker.
Very nice content, thank you!
Hamilton should be closer to top of the list. It is still controlled by organized criminal elements. Developers calculate fines into bidding process as cost of getting approval.
The #1 most violent in my opinion is Winnipeg, MB I grew up there it’s bad, I was jumped several times, attacked, robbed, assaulted just by being in the wrong place & wrong time. When I moved to Scarborough, ON a supposed bad area nothing bad ever happened to me there.
It would be better for your site to be able to say the names of the towns properly. 😢
It’s pronounced “Sue” Saint Marie, not Salt. It’s still sh*thole.
Born and raised in the Soo, and yes, I agree. It's a sh*thole.
Its basically just a list of drug crime in Toronto lol guy doesn't realize half that list is just an extension of Toronto they all used to be there own cities
Gee whiz. After watching this video, I'm making plans to move out and move to America. 😉
What about Windsor Ontario
Oshawa native here and unfortunately it does belong on this list , but the crime rate it's not spread out evenly of the entire city there are really bad areas and very nice good areas , you just need to know to stay away from areas with low income high rise apartments and downtown, stick to suburbs and out lying shopping plazas
I dont now were, they getthis i live very happy and secure in the Beatifull Vancouver and iam a senior, and i think is the whole whole world insecure, and dengarours?...😢😮Really?💙💙💙💙
I've lived in every place mentioned in video except Oshawa and grew up in between 2 of them Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury. I can mention a few more that are worse.
(ONTARIO)
Kitchener
London
Windsor
(BRITISH COLUMBIA)
Port Coquitlam
Langley
Victoria
Pretty much on the outskirts of any major city you'll find the highest crime rates.
Did not do his reach. Edmonton is by far the most dangerous city in Canada.
In 2007, Edmonton had over 47 murders. Mostly stabbings
🎉✔️🙈🙊🙉👈🤔💯 Even right now still happening that why it's not new.

I live in Lethbridge. It has way too much violent crime. There are more gangs setting up, and because of our proximity to the border and rural areas, drug trade and manufacturing is rising fast. You should expect to have your vehicle and house broken into. It's not a safe city. I plan on moving this year.
Where are you going to move to? Edmonton? Stop complaining
@makealbertaamerican4889 I plan on leaving Canada permanently, just like 11% of Canadians are planning this year. Not going to the US, it's worse then here. Your screen name pretty much says everything about you and it's nothing good.
@@austingrrr5191 If you are Canadian you would understand why I have that screen name. You are just too damn ignorant. I would rather stay in Canada and fight for Alberta but you are too weak of an individual to do that. Alberta needs strong people
I live in Lethbridge as well, and over the last 20 years, the crime rate shot to hell
@@annetteslife To what? From 6 homicides a year to 6.5 a year lol? Edmonton gets over 60 a year
I’m from Hamilton, now in Vancouver. There’s no way “the Hammer “ is any less than the top 3 of violent cities in Canada!!
Sounds alot like a truddy hit song
Surry isn't too bad I went there an most were nice an most from the church I went to were ok? Kinda mayb sum what but most just in the area were nice an it was a ok place an they had pizza an Mcronalds close by too...

Lacrosse is Canada's National sport, not Hockey like most think.
Not even close
Of course, the ten most "dangerous" cities in Canada are all safer than the safest city in the USA.
Originally Lacrosse is Canada’s national sport back a few years ago and hockey was the beloved game to watch.now Canada 🇨🇦 has two national sports, Lacrosse and Hockey.Lax for summer and hockey for winter. Just to correct informed people
Hockey has never been the official national sport of Canada. It is the most popular but still not in any way the official sport of Canada
Lacrosse has ALWAYS been Canada’s national sport.
Moncton nb
Isnt lacrosse our national sport? Kelowna should be on here. Oh well next time!

There is inaccuracy here: the population of Canada is about 35million not 40 and Brampton has a population of about 550 thousand. It's not pronounced not Salt St. Marie but Soo St. Marie. i will stop here but note, this video should have been edited by someone living in Canada.
