Pros
- 1406 brushless motors.
- Built in GPS with automatic return to home and landing capability on command, loss of signal, and low battery.
- Remote control with built-in LCD screen to display telemetry information from the drone.
- Optical flow sensor for automatic hovering indoors without GPS.
- Gesture photo control, 50x digital zoom, and advanced flight modes of circle position, follow me, and waypoints are all available through the RC GPS app available on Google Play here bit.ly/RC-GPS and Apple app store here bit.ly/RC-GPS-iOS
- Comes with nice carrying case for drone and its accessories.
Cons
- Heavier than 250 grams (341 grams with battery). This drone will require registration in some countries.
- Requires using a phone with 5Ghz 802.11ac WiFi capability. Not all phones have this type of WiFi. Verify that your phone does indeed have 802.11ac WiFi before purchasing, or you may be disappointed. Just Google search your phone's model name, along with the terms 802.11, and specification. See if 802.11ac shows up in the search results.
- Advertised with a 4K camera. However there is no 4K recording capability with this drone. Video is recorded at 720p at 25fps, and still photos at 1080p.
- The camera does not have SD card recording capability. All video is recorded to your phone over WiFi. Also maximum effective WiFi range seems to be only about 150 meters. Thus this also limits the maximum range that you can fly to record video to around 150 meters.
- The WiFi module on mine may have been defective. The WiFi signal would shut off after about 7 minutes of flight time. The only way to restart and reconnect to the drone's WiFi was to allow the drone to cool down for at least thirty minutes.
- Advertised with 90 degree tilt control of the camera lens. In reality, the camera can only tilt down about 20 degrees.

Well the camera certainly looks much better with that nearly invisible film removed. Lol. Thanks so much for pointing that out to me. I wish I had noticed it before I filmed my review. Unfortunately it still has jello but at least it isn't blurry now. Follow me is also poor. It is a real nice flyer though but what irked me the most was all the advertised features it didn't have (4k camera, EIS) and exaggerated features like the flight time. I couldn't see any evidence of EIS in the app. If it uses it then it is really poor. Awesome review!! I'm going to try and film some footage with the film removed and do a follow-up video.
PS. I had a comment basically calling me an idiot for not extending the antennas lol

Not really. Too many cons. And here is my list of Pro (good points) and cons (bad points) for this drone.
Pros

DEAR friend. Just to ask if you know... I realize that when update comes with the last android version , the drone does not responded anymore. Nothing you can do , Only with the previlous version on my old hany is working properly. Any ideas?

@@Quadcopter101 Yes my friend . Xiaomi 10 . 2 months ago everything was fine, but as newer version of android comes some functions related to buttons ie : TAKE OFF became unavaliable

Mine has so many issues. Love some advice. The green lights never stop flashing no matter how many times I turn. Also the FPV camera doesn't work even with 5g. The app doesn't seem to connect to the drone at all.
Turn on the drone, then open your phone's WiFi settings. Look for the drone's WiFi signal, and connect to it the same way as you would connect to your home WiFi (no password needed). Once connected to the signal, then open the app. The FPV video should now be available.
If this was a live stream from a Mars mission this would be considered exceptional.

Good review Q101 .... Why, oh why do they not put onboard microSD slots on these 'modern' craft ? There are better ... and cheaper drones on the market that have a slot. Totally baffling to me. Tc mate :)

Are you sure you have the same drone as the one in the Banggood advert ? The one they describe performs better than any DJI at a tenth of the cost, the picture quality in the advert looks as professional as they describe it will be, of course no less than you would expect from 4k technology, DJI even have the audacity to have a drone looking similar to this Matavish, even calling it a Mavic to trick you . Hang on while I try and get my tongue out of my cheek.

what a nice drone has gimbal and cheap ?
Cheapest decent ones would probably be the Hubsan Zino or Fimi A3. If you *really* care about price though you could probably try to get a JJRC X12, though I don't think you'd get much usable footage out of it
Mjx Rc 4w, best bang for the buck. 1 mile distance and less than 200 dollars.

do you sell these drones after testing ?
I don't keep them (don't have the storage space), nor do I sell them or do giveaways (don't have the time or want the hassle of packaging and mailing). After their reviews are completed, they are piled in the back of my van and donated monthly en masse to local schools and charities (Toys for Tots and local schools Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) clubs).
A question is if the connection between the control unit and the drone is broken, will the drone come off or fly on?
This has GPS. If connection is lost, this drone will automatically return and land at the location where it last took off from.

On the controller the last data height is 10 m , speed 3 m/s and distance 832 m , I haven’t seen any more.

Nope. No matter what it may be advertised as, it is really only 720p video and 1080p still photos.

i guess if you like the See-Saw effect in follow me mode, this is the drone for you 😆 720p video with jello on a brushless drone in 2020 is laughable as well. So many better ones on the market at that price point or even less

That gimbal looks pretty useless. So much jello. I've seen more stable video from fixed cameras on drones that were themselves more stable.
