Twice is probably one of the most interesting villains out there in my opinion. I could see most of the villains being heros or regular people if certain things were different in their life but twice is different in that category. He needed something that I don't know off the top off my head but he didn't need much he is more of a chaotic person that does things for friends so it depends on the friends.
I wish Mustard could've survived the Camp Training arc. In the few chapters / episodes we saw of him he seemed to have the potential to be a good foil to UA students. The fact he's a middle school student just makes him stand out so much to me, I'm kind of shocked he was treated as a one shot villain; though having to put gas masks on your characters and sending a ton of them to the hospital everytime he shows up would probably get repetitive, so I can see why he had to be written out quickly; but, still, his anger towards UA and the world and the fact that he used a gun made me want to see him explored more. Be interested to know how juvenile offenders are treated in this universe. I hope he has a better fate than Tartarus cause I'd feel that would be way too inhumane to subject a kid through. From what I read Moonfish and Muscular were taken there but Mustard wasn't specifically stated to be brought there with them, and his fate following his arrest is "unclear". This makes me hope there's possibility we can see him return, but with each passing arc I'm getting less hopeful. Anyway, nice analysis video. It's nice seeing more people talking about this character.
Thank you :D I'm glad this video wasn't a waste of time and effort; your in-depth comment most definitely relieved my concern. He's probably in some juvenile detention center, could be interesting to see how society attempts to help these misguided kids/teens that abuses their quirks.

Mustard brought up interesting topics on hero society (as well as teased us with a potentially interesting villain backstory before any other LOV member) and it felt like he should've been one of the League's members that got away. I thought his Quirk was cool, and he displayed such a mastery over it that I can't help but wonder if he can do even more with it. I was sad that he was arrested, but I figured it was okay since he wasn't the only one who got caught. But now that the other two have been creed it seems like no-one remembers or even cares about him anymore. I want more of the Gun Child! Why is he being forgotten!?

I always like to theorise that possibly his father or other relative was a police officer who instilled both a keen knowledge of firearms and his hatred of hero society (If mey memory isn't failing me, I believe tensions between police and heroes has been hinted at from time to time in the series.), which led to him sharing a similar ideology as Stain, so when he heard about the Hero Killer, he decided to join up. It's a shame that he was never given a chance to shine, but on the upside, he's probably one of the easiest characters to craft fan theories about because there's very little, if any, information given that could contradict the theory.
@@cristianokiki1486 keep in mind Aizawa expelled a group prior to the series beginning though I have read on the wiki of one student from that year and only one from Aizawa’s previous class appearing in the manga we don’t know what happened to the rest but other people think they either A went to other schools to get hero training or other employment options or B they turned to a life of crime and if the latter is right then Mustard is proof of what happens when an elite school with such high standards rejects someone because of their power
Glad to see some people looking into these minor characters. I also can't deny my love of the character myself. But i gotta ask. What is the music that was playing in the background called? It matches Mustard perfect in my opinion
@@Mrcoffeestuff thanks for the music name. I like Mustard for many different reason but I think the main reason why I love him so much is because he was so membrable. Before even knowing about My Hero Academia, I remembered seeing a clip of Mustards fights against Tetsutetsu and and Kendo. It was so cool to me because what is the last thing you'd expect a person oto pull out in a world full of super powers? A gun. So to see him useing a gun against them was just memorable. Even after a year without knowing what My Hero Academia was or even knowing it was a manga, him and his fight stuck with me. It was great because I stared getting into My Hero Academia and when I first saw Mustards introduced I immediately knew exactly who he was. Despite all the other characters in the manga/anime, Mustard stock out as the coolest and most notable.
In a world where you can have engines on your legs…have poison shoot out of your hands…. You would never expect a kid to pull out a gun… Edit: his voice and laugh is kinda cute
ok maybe its me overthinking it. BUT Mustard produces gas that makes people faint or puts them to sleep. AND midnight has the same type of quirk!!! *ARE THEY RELATED!!?!?!?!????!??!?!*
it's more like his appearance and demeanor that makes him look "villainous" and also he is an actual villain. While his quirk can be deemed as a power appropriate for a villain it's ultimately up to the wielder and how they choose to use it.
Maybe he's Midnight's secret love child. XD Todoroki has entered chat. But just imagine it Todo sees his quirk and straight up asks him if he's Midnight's secret love child
@@Asmodeus_682 that makes sense. I really hope they bring him back. He has so much potential to be a good guy and as I always say "a quirk isn't villainous . What a person does with it is" (Kind of like guns don't kill people it's the person behind the trigger)
One of best LoV members. Also wasn't there in some non Canon bnha book where Mirko patroled with midoriya and bakugou and they came across kid with poison (not sleeping) gas quirk he can't control and needs to release it every now and then so they fought him
@@Mrcoffeestuff honestly i dont know why i like him other than the fact that i agree with his morals and he looks pretty fucking cool and it pisses me off that i dont have a solid reason for why i like him because there was just not enough stuff of him for me to see like WHY i like him if that makes sense wish they make more stuff with him in it
i know it would be a little werid to see his personality change if he does comeback i would like him to not underestimate ua students and stay calm and what other things he can do with the gas
I wish he lasted longer in the show or came back during the prison break out or something like that. I understand why not, because Toga would have to be alone at that point (jailbreak), and I don't even really know what else Horikoshi could have done with him. Buut, I would have liked him to have touched on the fact that he has almost the exact same quirk as Midnight, if not the same. It would have been cool to see another parallel like that.
Mrcoffeestuff There’s something about the idea of what Mustard could have been that really makes me love him and wish he still was around. Mustard was around the age of a middle school student but had a gun and was similar to school shooters in the real world (something you don’t see a lot of in anime). There could have been some potential for a really dark, morally complex background. One of those ideas for his backstory is Mustard not having a functional home life and the next idea of the League of Villains being the only thing close to a family that Mustard has is something that I would find interesting. Plus I liked the idea of him, Twice, and Toga working together during certain events in Season 4.
I think mustard is an outstanding villain but would be a spectacular hero with that quirk attacks will be handle swiftly and quickly. He's such an underrated character just like snipe
@@alexanderwiles2003 Thx man, I mean if I'm consistent with my quality then I'll eventually have greater reach. Not many people are really searching for any discussion vids regarding the MHA characters I've done since they're not relevant at this point of time and overall not popular characters.
Is it just me or mustard and yokumiro mera (the blond overworked guy) look really REALLY similar? Or it's just that horikoshi run out of characters ideas...
Does anyone have any ideas of scenarios if mustard managed to escape with the rest of the villains in the training camp arc or escaped in the prison break arc?
Why Tf didn’t twice just clone him? Dabi already surrounded fire and Mustard was already on another part of the camp why wouldn’t they just send a clone on the other side?
I wish Mustard escaped with the rest of the League. He would have played a big role during the Overhaul and Liberation army arcs. And it would have been nice to see his relationship with Toga further develop.
Do you think after his arrest did he go to Tartarus to control his dangerous and powerful quirk, and due to having a fucking gun in Japan, and even is middle schooler with gun , or did he go to normal prison due to being middle schooler?
@@cristianokiki1486 The only thing I can do is surmise, but there could possibly be people that can cancel out Mustard's quirk or the guards could wear gas masks when they're around him. Also, Mustard will be affected by his quirk as well.
@@cristianokiki1486 Mmm, he's probably detained in a high-security prison that's one grade level below Tartarus. He's strong but he's definitely not as dangerous as the current, known prisoners in Tartarus
I don’t think the “Villain Appropriate Quirk” is True, bc midnight has a gas quirk, the only differences are 1. Mustard isn’t immune of his own effects, that’s why he wears a gas Mask 2. Midnight’s quirk works better males.
I agree. Looking back at this I would have focused more on his sense of inferiority with him not being able to effectively make use of his quirk without a piece of external equipment which might explain the reason why he's so good at shooting a gun (This way he could make up for his innate inferiority with his quirk). Of course, that's my theory on his character.
Once I heard some one say that his quirk is just a worse version of midnights. There are so many reasons why that's wrong, 1. Your comparing a 13 year old to fully trained professional so its seasonal to presume midnight has perfected her quirk while mustard isnt even at the stage of a first year. 2. The obvious how is an entire forest worse then the general area around you. 3. Mustard ca sense the movement of any one in the gas which is essentially a second quirk as he can detect people in a large radius and 4. One of the points they used was he cant breath in the gas but there are very few quirks that directly counter this that dont already work on midnight

Maybe Mustard was part of the previous class of first year students Aizawa expelled and developed resentment for U.A.
It's implied that he may have been in middle school/ jr high
He is 13,and midoriya was 15 when he got in UA
@@cristianokiki1486 still it makes you wonder
@@nixxgen9574 eh true
I believe it's the League of villains OST. Nice, what do you love about him?
He is 13-14 years old and he is super strong
That is true, his marksmanship is pretty scary for a 13-14 year old
Average teenager in anime lmao

@@Mrcoffeestuff He is one of the youngest villains, yet he uses intelligence and combines it well with his quirk. By reading air fluctuations.

Mustard is my favourite mha character
Nice! why is her your favorite mha character?
I like him too as an underrated villian
In a world where you can have engines on your legs…have poison shoot out of your hands…. You would never expect a kid to pull out a gun…
Edit: his voice and laugh is kinda cute
He's actually a pretty good shot...which makes it 10x more scarier when you think about it
@@Mrcoffeestuff ya too bad he’s gone…. He wasn’t my favourite but he’s funny- guess the League didn’t think much of him tho :/

Mustards actually one of my favourite characters, i hope he gets brought back soon, i miss him :((
Oh really? Why is he your favorite mha character?
@@Mrcoffeestuff I’m honestly really curious about his backstory, like how did someone as young as him become a villain? His designs very cool too :))
Ahh I see. Yeah like it's crazy how he got so skilled with shooting especially in a setting like Japan with its strict gun control.
Mustard in my mind could have been a great villain
It's still not too late џ(ºДºџ)
ok maybe its me overthinking it. BUT
Mustard produces gas that makes people faint or puts them to sleep.
AND midnight has the same type of quirk!!!
*ARE THEY RELATED!!?!?!?!????!??!?!*
i don't think so. midnight would have had some reaction to mustard's arrest
I just realised, Mustard and Midnight have similar quirks, yet the boy's is deemed villainous
it's more like his appearance and demeanor that makes him look "villainous" and also he is an actual villain. While his quirk can be deemed as a power appropriate for a villain it's ultimately up to the wielder and how they choose to use it.
@@Mrcoffeestuff mhm
Maybe he's Midnight's secret love child.

Mustard has a lot more fans than I expected. Why do you love him so much?
@@zachbetz6326 Interesting, thx for your in-depth thoughts

God I wish this character had stuck around he's so much more interesting than Toga.
I don’t think the “Villain Appropriate Quirk” is True, bc midnight has a gas quirk, the only differences are
1. Mustard isn’t immune of his own effects, that’s why he wears a gas Mask

He does have the aesthetic
Yeah, both gas quirks have many subtle differences to them. Also, for a 13 year old kid he's pretty skilled at shooting which alone is scary.
Imagine being so useless you arent even immune to your own quirk gas.
I wish I had emphasize that. That's most likely the reason why he's so unsecured.
