Chris Thile: Thank you for being one of the absolute classiest musicians of this generation. Bella: Please continue with your outstanding tallent! I am looking forward to hearing your future work.
Y'all, I've heard stories from big concert festival goers who say, Chris Thile is always playing music with fans/giving mandolin lessons to kids wherever he goes. Top tier dude.
I've pickup the guitar at 12 , traded my older brother for his guitar for my BB gun . I'm 63 and just purchased a mandolin . SO much fun !! One of my younger granddaughters 11 yr old just took up violin playing ( fiddle ) now to get her little brother (8 yr old)a banjo he he . Bravo Bella ! You're amazing! Chris what a kind gesture by giving Bella a spot light to play with one of the greats . Thank you for posting this .
I’ve just found this gem on RUclips. Am I right in saying this is Chris’s daughter? Watch out Sierra, B is coming your way and Chris, your also in danger of being overtaken by this little genius. Incredible. I’ve just been watching the dreadful news from Ukraine and this has lifted my spirits.
NOW I'm a Chris Thile Fan. Go get 'em Bella - see you on stage soonest. You can see it in Chris' eyes. "If you wanna play, you're gonna have to play like This." So cool.
I get to spend a few days every summer with Tommy Emmanuel and he's the same way. He has nothing to prove and he will always lay back or lay out for anyone not at his level (which is everyone as far as I can tell) to let them show off their stuff. You go Bella!!! And Chris we all know what kind of musician and man you are. Bravo to you both.
Kudos to Mr. Thile for encouraging young talent -- as he was in his turn. Especially thank you CT, for encouraging the young FEMALE talent -- so often overlooked or minimized. I'm now a bigger fan than before.
The look of pure joy on his face while playing says it all. He was in her shoes a couple decades ago, in the company of greats, and pushed every one of them with his incredible talent. She brought out that extra little bit of effort in him, and I pray she will do the same 20 years from now with some new kid. Remember her name folks, if anyone ever makes mando players in the future say "Chris who??", it will be this young lady.
Chris Thile was the one who really got me playing the Manolin a short time playing for about a year but thank you Chris your awesome the Punch Brothers new Album us incredible
Awesome picking! B plays so well here. I find it funny that Chris reaches for the whiskey at the end of the song then thinks better of it while he’s sharing the stage with her 😆
That was just so cute! This girl has real talent and is very good at connecting with another player. Chris is good with kids, obviously, real nice guy.
The requirements of the recording also should include holding the camera STILL. I'm still glad they posted it.....Two born pickers lucky enough to find their calling early in life.
At first I thought this was going to be Bela Fleck and Thile, and that the video poster had just mispelled his name. Even though it wasn't Bela Fleck, I was not disappointed. Bella kicks butt!
I don't know how anyone can hear music like this and not believe in God. This is a gift. Beautiful moment between Chris and this girl. Made me wanna dance!!
People who don't believe in any god, believe that genetics gave her this natural talent. It's not that difficult of a concept to wrap your mind around. Regardless, she is amazing.
God and genetics had about as little to do with this girl's talent as each other. This is a testament to hundreds of hours of hard work she put into her instrument and it cheapens her efforts if you attribute that to anything other than her (and supportive parents!).
Yeah... I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there. She's not old enough to have put any real work into it. Natural talent = most likely genetics. I'll acknowledge the work she's put in, when it's evident that she has. I was playing stuff about that hard on the cello when I was in the fifth grade without needing to practice all that much. I attribute that to genetics, because there certainly wasn't any other reason for it. I should've probably stuck with cello, though.
As a musician from a young age, the talent is not in music, it is the ability to do things over and over until they are perfected. That is not from any god or goddess. Some of these kids play for hours every day, for several years. it helps to have really patient and supportive parents. I know several of the wunderkinds, and they really worked at it. So did I. It was no gift, I worked for every note.
"Chris Thile: Thank you for being one of the absolute classiest musicians of this generation."
Absolutely.

I just realized that she asked him how fast to play it, and he said, "How fast do *you* want it?" Awesome.
Yo Bella! Having Chris Thile as your backing musician - that's about as coooool as it gets!
Chris is a master at leaning in and laying back, takes nothing for himself and only there to serve the song. Every time he plays
I love the way he plays a classy solos that are exceptionally melodic and not crazy fast and complex. He respects the player and audience. Pure class.

That was satisfying in every way - musically great, great to see a talent like Thile have so much fun, and Bella probably didn't sleep that night!
I remember seeing Chris's play 22 years ago. He was more than awesome. Time flies!

Lucky kid. There are only a few people in the western world that are the musical equal of Chris Thile.
I come back to this video every so often and it still gives me goosebumps!
This is the single best you tube video I've ever seen . This is magic . A kid in dungarees playing with Chris tile
My mouth is gaped open. What amazing talents together. That girl will go on to do great things!!
Everything's going to be just fine...beautiful
BECAUSE of that comment from Chris I have shared this many times. So heartwarming for us old-timers who worry about the future of the music.
Fantastic..... This is the great thing about RUclips.... Watching these types of videos!
Thanks

This just makes me danged happy! (And maybe just a little bit misty-eyed, too.)
Well that was just amazing. I hope to see Bella at Red Wing Roots Fest one day!
Just when I thought I was as in love with him as I could get.
This was an absolute delight to watch.
Chris Thile was the one who really got me playing the Manolin a short time playing for about a year but thank you Chris your awesome the Punch Brothers new Album us incredible
Chris you are brilliant gentleman. I think you are right - everything is going to be just fine. Way to go B!
I am 60 years old and hoping to take up the mandolin. I knew I might be a little too old, but I had no idea I was 50 years too old! Jeez!
I know you're joking, but don't ever feel too old to pick up an instrument :)
Just picked up my mandolin about 2 1/2 years ago. I was born in '61. Never too old!
Dr. Turkey )
Came here expecting Bella Fleck for some reason. Was not sad
regardless.
Brandon McDougalHahaha same here so rad!
And then i watched this abour 712 times.....
Hoooooooly cow!!! That was incredible!! I'm usually not one for standing up in my chair and cheering, but this video made me do it. Kudos Bella!!
IamYou86 the hell
I don't have to look up the word "classy" in the dictionary to find out if there's a picture of Chris Thile on the page. I know it is there.
Wow...beautiful and inspiring. Way to go Bella!
Awesome picking! B plays so well here. I find it funny that Chris reaches for the whiskey at the end of the song then thinks better of it while he’s sharing the stage with her 😆
AMAZING little girl!!!!! So proud to know there are more people jamming out!!

You rock it out little girl! Enjoyed your talent please continue to share!
Let me hear that one more time! No, make it on hundred! Best I've heard. Is "B" short for Bella? Wow!!!!!!!!
The requirements of the recording also should include holding the camera STILL. I'm still glad they posted it.....Two born pickers lucky enough to find their calling early in life.

I love this, Thile is a stand up guy.
At first I thought this was going to be Bela Fleck and Thile, and that the video poster had just mispelled his name. Even though it wasn't Bela Fleck, I was not disappointed. Bella kicks butt!
A true inspiration !!!
Fantastic. I don't know any other words to sum it it.

Similar to how that comment made us realize you weren't as intelligent as the world previously believed.
