Is Chris Thile's musical ability, his creative genius, limitless? He does something better than anyone, then he comes around and outdoes himself. One of the greatest musicians alive today. Bravo bravo bravo....
Most likely the greatest to ever pick a mando up.
He has it all technical skills, improv skills, able to play any genres. He was born to play the mandolin.
I was fortunate to see him live twice; Punch Brothers and as a solo act. Each time the call back was just Thile. He Wouk sit on the edge of the stage and play Bach. I was able to sit in the first few rows. All you heard was dead silence and looking around me were I assume musicians. They all had their jaws on the floor. To say it was awe inspiring would do it a disservice. Absolute brilliant performance.
In my estimation he’s the best I have heard and second is a long way back.
You should listen to the man playing Bach! Astounding!
damn he's so good
Oh Boy = you rocked that Baby! :)
This would make Bob
Dylan a proud man. ❤️
Chris "God" Thile 😍😍😍
Whoooooo is Right! WoW you freakin' naiLed it! Sizzling Brother!❤️🔥 Hope to see you live down here in Asheville 😉💜
A unique talent - Mr Chris Thile.
He’s now 40, but he’s been at the mandolin for a long time. At age eight, Thile's family and the Watkins family (Sara and Sean) formed their band Nickel Creek and played at That Pizza Place in Carlsbad, CA. Chris had his first album (Leading Off) under his own name at age 13 with his cute baby fat face on the cover. I still enjoy that CD when I pull it out now and then.
Holy smokes.
So I have really picked the wrong song to learn first on the mandolin but it's too late to give up now, I am all the way through the intro into the first verse after a month. Can anyone point me to the strings being used and confirm the tuning? I am hearing a few notes that are lower than my standard tuning. Appreciate the help if anyone can give it. This will take me a year but I am learning how to play from this amazing song.
On the crappiest 40 dollar Rogue you have ever heard🤣
should be standard tuning (gdae) and strings are probably d'addario. this isn't a bad first song to learn actually. chords are simple and if you focus on those first, it will go much smoother. he just is playing the melody over the chords. he is playing in g, so its g d eminor c g d/ g d em a d/ g g7 c a/ g d em d c g d
Da-Aaaam
I used to take pride in strumming the chords to this tune and Chris has to go and ego smash me with this. 😊
sounds like 421s ..... clearview soundman ?
