    I have been using the AVX for a little over a year now. I have tried other premium balls and the AVX just always seems to come out on top for me. I tried the TP5 pix last weekend . I was impressed however I play better with the AVX and I also found it has a softer feel to it than the TP5's. I find the AVX more controllable overall & around the greens and it also went further for me to off the driver.

    TP5 is the better ball, I've tested almost everything. You chose AVX because "I've played Titlelist All My Life", me too, I switch to TP5 last year and have better flight and distance spacing from club to club and prefer the "feel" over the ProV1 or AVX.

    Nice review James. I have been playing the AVX for about a month now. I really like it quite a bit. Soft feel, goes very far as well. I don't mind spending my cash on such a good ball. I also enjoy the Titleist Tour Soft but I think the AVX goes further. I love the control you have with these. Spider Dubiel

    I have been playing the AVX for several months now. I like it a shade better than the ProV1. It seems that for me the AVX flies farther and higher off the irons, maybe 10-15 yards. It spins slightly less than the ProV1 around the greens, so I had to adjust a little for that. The driver distance is very much the same as the ProV1. Yeah, they do cost. I am kind of fortunate in that I can buy new 'finders' at a good price at a store here in Phoenix. I use those for buddy play.

    HIya - I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of dozen AVX balls earlier this year. I can say that your findings totally back up what I found too. I currently game the TP5, but will switch to the AVX when it comes on general release here for two reasons. 1, the soft feel around the greens. The TP5 is good, but the AVX shades it and putts really nicely too. 2, Where I play it's exposed and windy and the higher spinning TP5 can balloon on me sometimes, which I don't seem to get with the AVX. As you say, they're both great and sometimes subjective things can be the only reasons to choose one over the other. Good luck with the channel :)

      I have been using the AVX for over a year now. I love it. Great off the putter and hybrids. Golf Spy only rates them fair but this stuff is very subjective. I think they are a great ball. Spider Dubiel

    @MrLeftyno1 6 лет назад +1

    Good video James, it really does come down to personal preference, the one thing I found with the TP5 is that the wind did not effect it as much, so as my course is windy It got the nod lol.

    • @JamesRobinsonGolf
      @JamesRobinsonGolf  6 лет назад

      It would be a bit of a non-starter Tom, the TP5X is a high trajectory ball so like chalk and cheese really.

    • @tomevans12
      @tomevans12 6 лет назад +1

      Oh ok that is surprising. Without much thinking I assumed AVX was Titleist counter to TP5X - in as much that its something lower spinning and it will likely go longer at the expense of softer feel - but I guess in hindsight thinking of your review - if the AVX is softer than the TP5 then I got it all wrong!!

    • @JamesRobinsonGolf
      @JamesRobinsonGolf  6 лет назад

      Not wrong Tom. Just misinformed maybe. Titleist switched round the ProV and ProVx last time and it confused everyone!

    Hi James, I enjoyed the way you do your videos you make them interesting so having just having stumbled across your channel I’ve just subscribed, I’m a 5 handicap player been playing for 45 years now! Yes getting old, swing speed going down with age( horrible feeling against the younger players) normally use Titleist pro v1x but I tried the new Callaway truvis (Black&white) Newcastle Utd fan! Must say the chrome soft is very impressive off the tee and around the green only just played 18 holes in our midweek comp and not a mark on the ball, not sure how it will react in the wind but time will tell.
    A couple of my pals just switched to the AVX and definitely they have gained off the tee handicap 2&4 so canny players and no difference around the green so I’m thinking of trying the AVX but I’m reluctant at the moment having just bought 2 dozen chrome soft but I found your video very useful from a information point of view. Good work look forward to more of your videos. Well done.

    Fun guy but painfully titleist swayed. The 5 iron shots alone with spin that low would disqualify it if it weren't a titleist for his game. I play avx but it ain't for everyone, especially bc it spins soooooo low

    I really don’t like these type of reviews, unless you are using technology. If you have an Iron Byron we can talk. No human hits exactly the same shot after shot so a comparison is invalid. The human element also invites bias. If you get a machine to hit shot after shot which can also be synchronized with the computer monitoring software, I’ll sit up and listen.

    • @heyladiesisurf27
      @heyladiesisurf27 6 лет назад +1

      Rob D if a pro can’t be relied upon to hit several shots the same and compare findings then what will the vast majority of golfers with higher handicaps achieve. Nobody wants to see what a robot does as nobody swings the same, we rely upon professionals to show unbiased opinions on equipment, if you don’t like this approach keep your negative comments to yourself!

    • @marinegolfer68
      @marinegolfer68 6 лет назад +1

      so you want a machine to make the decision for you the human who is going to be inconsistent according to your assessment. yep i am confused now lol. Great review... I put more stock in the on course review but to each his own

    • @ianbuchanan6444
      @ianbuchanan6444 6 лет назад +2

      Nonsense reply, Rob. The balls are going to be hit by humans, not robots, so the only comparison that matters is one done by a decent, fairly consistent golfer.
