This really helped a lot, I’ve been planning to start a store, but I’m still confused on the shipping. This video helped a bunch tho, and now I’m not so scared to try selling! Thank you!!! 🥰
Aw I'm glad! Starting is always the scariest but I always think it's scarier to not even try and know what COULD have happened if I took the leap. Best of luck with your shop's beginnings 😊
@@DoodlesnTea Thanks for your kind words :) I have a small fan base (3k) so I’m not that worried about publicity. I’m worried about my product not being reliable or high quality. I’m making boba tea charms (because of your follow the trend section). Any tips to make sure your products are reliable?
@@haley9449 If you're getting them manufactured, I'd read up on the reviews them have and looks for more than one manufacturer at first. If you're making them yourself, I'm not too sure about quality check on keychains 😅
I just message them about my shop and what we sell. Then I tell them what I'd offer to send to them along with sending a few posts of my stickers and shop link attached. After that you kind of just wait to see what their response is haha
The ads doesn't work for all sellers. It depends on what you sale. For example, I sell handmade wood jewelry and my favorites and traffic still remain minimal with the ads.
regarding the confusion on ad sales, im not 100% sure but it would be understandable if they only counted purchases from when that person first clicked on the ad? like if someone favorited it or found the non-advertised listing and went back after they saw the ad and purchased then, maybe those dont count. im not sure how to word that so hopefully it makes sense😂
I get you. Like someone favs FROM an ad but doesn't come back to purchase it through their fav tab instead in a couple of days. From what I've heard (and don't quote me 100% on this haha) Etsy keeps a record for a couple of days that you found a listing through an ad even if you fav-ed it. I don't remember exactly HOW many days though. The strange thing from my own experience is that I recognize people's names who fav and buy things. Some people probably fav-ed things THROUGH the ad but when they bought it, it didn't say it was purchased through an ad (there's a little sign that shows if it was purchased through an ad).
I’m interested in making and selling fan art stickers but is there a high possibility that I could get sued due to copyright laws? I see so many others do it but I’m still uneasy about it
Technically yes.. haha I don't think huge companies (eg. Nintendo) will come after small shops making like $5 from selling stickers from their games for example. However, I've had more issues with random companies who "claims they're representatives from bigger companies" take down my listings from Etsy for Studio Ghibli art.. 😅
Ooo that's a tough one (and I no longer actually make game inspired stickers either). I think it really depends on the company. I know certain bigger companies probably won't spend time to try and take down a small business so you're probably safe. However, there are some companies (eg. I believe the creators of Among Us) who at some point came out and asked for fans to stop selling fanart/fan made products. I think if the game is from a bigger company, the risk of getting caught is lower but I wouldn't recommend making art entirely based off games for the long run to avoid copyright issues when you grow bigger!
There's always going to be a risk of that. However you still see stores selling lots of fan merch everywhere 😅 Some companies are pickier than others. If a smaller company has stated not to sell fanart (I believe the creators of Among Us said so before) then I'd avoid it. I asked my aunt about this before because she works with trademarking and she says yes you're not supposed to but a huge billion dollar company isn't going to come after your small shop for selling one design because that's a lot of paperwork to be going after you. Not worth the time and effort on their end.
@@DoodlesnTea My mind is so blocked now by over thinking about everything 😂😅 + I'm going to move out too so I can't think right 🥲 But one thing I want to ask is, from your experience do you think it's ok to list different stationery supplies all at ones? Or should I wait?
I'm not sure if there's an exact number but I do know if more people purchase a specific listing, that listing will be bumped up in the search pages since Etsy sees it's more popular.
I'm still experimenting with Etsy Ads to this day and I stand by my thoughts in this video. It gives good exposure (depending on how much you pay for Etsy ads daily) BUT from my own personal experience, it doesn't drive as many sales as I would like.
I loved this video!! My shop just reached 2 sales but i'm really grateful for each one! Really looking forward to trying some of these tips out.
wootwoot! That's so exciting! Congratulations :D
Thanks for posting this series! In quarantine I’ve been thinking about starting an Etsy before my last year of college ;___; I’m happily a new sub❤️

I think that unless someone adds an item to their cart or buys a listing directly from the ad, it isn’t counted as a ad sale
I will try the ads for 7 days with $1 and see if anything happens
