- A motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene after what appears to be at least a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night in the San Fernando Valley. Sky5's Gil Leyvas reports for ktla.com.

SUV made left turn into path of the bike; footage of it shown on another channel. There was two people on the bike; He was going way too fast and stopping distance while braking for two.
I ride so I'm interested in reading about the causes of crashes, almost 90% of the time it's going too fast for the conditions.

@@stylo8845 well it's pretty obvious to anyone who has had a license for a while. Half of the time when you see a biker on the road, they're going too fast and swerving around like they're invincible.
Don't be that guy, and stay alive.
Be very cautious when riding a motorcycle, especially when you’re near other vehicles. Try to ride at or below the speed limit when you feel like something could happen.
Unfortunately that's a instinct most people don't have
@@stylo8845 I’ve gotten in many minor and one major motorcycle accidents. They all happen when you try to do something different or with many variables that can’t easily be calculated or are unforeseeable. Best anyone can do is try to put as many of the variables in your favor and you’re likely to die less.
But if you’re already going down or can’t escape try to do damage control (I literally tucked my arms in and rolled until I came to a stop about 20ft away)
This part of L.A. seems to have an especially high number of bad accidents.

Motorcycle riders, for the most part, cause their own problems. Speeding, splitting lanes, general unsafe riding. It is difficult to be in a car's blindspot on a bike if you never ride in one.

People are riding motorcycles because the city doesn't want to do anything to control the traffic. Rather than improve the traffic lighting to help traffic move, they would rather close a lane on both sides to allow a bus to go through a few times each hour. People ride because they don't want to deal with all the traffic.

Surveillance video of the crash obtained by KTLA shows the driver of the SUV making a left-hand turn in front of the motorcyclist and their passenger when they collided with the vehicle.
Considering the damage to the SUV I'd say the bike wasn't even visible when they began their turn. Bike was probably going WAAAAAAAAY too fast.

I mean I'm going 80 that's way too fast but people will tail gait so you feel like you have to speed up it's insane I hate it .. I'm 40 and I've been driving since I was 16 I've never seen such madness on the roads in all my life are there not speed limits anymore?? Geez
The suv is flipped onto on coming traffic most likely suv did a stupid turn and either bike dude was going to fast or had no time to react
the bike was going too fast, SUV was already mid turn when the bike would've been visible to them.
Dam R.I.P to the motorcycle rider i love them sm and i also lost a family member in 2022 been almost 2 yrs now i miss him he hit the pier under a bridge and he was alive for some time then died less then 20 mins miss him 🕊🕊❤❤

just looking at it first off the condition of the SUV looks like the bike was traveling at subsonic speed and either the SUV turned in front of it , but as always KTLA5 SUCKS .. their stories are always incomplete or just Wrong... there were 2 PEOPLE ON THE BIKE.. MAN AND A WOMAN... they were speeding.. the SUV was making a left hand turn.... ONE person on the bike was killed the passengers condition is unknown ATM..
I see a lot of comments about how it looks like the SUV might have made a U-Turn: yeah I see that a lot in LA. Some brainless driver will swing a U turn from the far right, cut through 2 lanes just to flip around.. So dangerous

@@lissyalcala7729I just saw a video of the accident and the SUV was making a left. The motorcycle had no time at all. SUV didn't seem in the wrong, except for the fact that they didn't see a vehicle coming right towards them from in front. Sad
@@Trapped_in_the_Dunya Bike was going waaay too fast. If the bike had been going a reasonable speed they would have been able to stop before they hit the SUV.
So many oblivious bikers in this comment section trying to defend the people who were clearly at fault.
@@JonasC22 idk about the speed here. Judging by the video I would say there was probably 50 or so feet between the first view of the cycle and SUV, and maybe .75 seconds before impact. Mathematically speaking, that could mean the MC was doing around 45mph. That's typical speed limit in the area and the SUV would have had plenty of time to see them coming

I've been on the 105 freeway at night and seen motorcyclists doing all kinds of stunts and acrobatics at 80 mph. Not saying that was the case here but Cycle riders in LA as a whole drive like maniacs. RIP to this poor person and the prayers to the injured in the silver vehicle.

Probably, most motorcycle videos I've seen over the years are of the drivers speeding and thinking they own the road and breaking mirrors and such as they speed by.
