      Adam Paganelli i have a 1998 gti i let it sit for almost a 7 months it had half a tank of gas but i added the seafoam in it knowing it was gonna sit during the winter i took it out to lake turns on fine took it for a spin was riding good then at full throttle it bog out you think it’s the carbs ?

    • @handyallaround5776
      @handyallaround5776 4 года назад

      @@josecollazos6 yes should have used stabil instead of seafoam, to stabilize the fuel to keep ethanol from breaking down fuel so quickly, it starts to break down in only 3 weeks with new gas!, so now you need complete carbs rebuilt

    Nicely done. I just bought a '96 XP for super cheap as a project. It's been sitting outside exposed to the weather for years, so I'll be restoring it much like you're doing now. Running condition is unknown and it came with no key or battery --- waiting on those to arrive to dig into this thing. I'll be looking for your future videos on your Seadoos. Thanks for sharing.

    You have to change those old fuel lines you have to change the selector valve you also have to set your pop off pressure on your needle and seat and always do a fuel pressure check on your fuel system a loose gas cap on a 2-stroke jet ski with fry a piston or you may have a bad air regulator valve on your gas tank all these things must be checked when doing a carb job

    Have same 96 gti they seem to start fine but surge or will run good wide open then they slow/bog down while throttle is still wide open. They will almost come to a stop then take off again. Also if you let off throttle then stab it again takes about 5 seconds to react/respond. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you for the video. I have a 96 XP that just started to bog down. It starts but doesn't go over 5 mph. it will get up and go then bog right down like there is something restricting it. I am assuming its the carb that needs cleaned and new fuel lines.

      did u change fuel filter and plugs? take off fuel line and spray gumont carb and wd 40 let it soak a few days. Try again fuel pumps are on the carb itself. so if has ole gray lines replace make sure u remove any ole fuel replace with ethanol free, never leave fuel in one for long time. bogging can be many things start with the basic. Bogging is usually one of the jets is stopped up

    Hey Adam, I need help. My 1999 Kaw Ultra has sat for 2 years. Started the Ski today for the 1st time in 2 years. Throttle is hard as hell. When it started the RPM shot to max redline. I turned it off after 4 seconds. Throttle cable does move up and down. Maybe dirty carbs from sitting? Thanks fella!

    The first thing you should check if your ski starts and dies, before u rebuild anything.. check inside your Gas tank and make sure the pick up line have not rotted from ethanol , That was my problem they were cracked all the way up and one had fallen off. didnt find untill i rebuilt entire fuel system after my carbs and all rebuilt i still had same problem replaced 2 lines fired right up amazing what happens when they get gas, hahaha

    • @shannonjohnson2345
      @shannonjohnson2345 Год назад

      I have the same problem I’m pretty sure sure it’s the filters in the carburetor and the fuel lines .
      There is also a filter in front of the ski on my 94 gtx . Just take out the storage box in front and the air vent slide up and out behind it is a screw on filter . I cleaned it and my ski ran great for two hrs then back to sluggish and hard starting. My ski sat for 8 yrs so I’m sure the carb and fuel lines are an issue.
      I’m hoping that the crank seals are still ok bc that’s got to do with carbs bringing in fuel dried bad crank seals means not enough crank case pressure to run the carbs . At least that’s the problem on my Kawasaki stand up ski.

    I was wondering why they didn’t have a inline filter like a pre filter that you could see the stuff in the gas. I have them on all my boats. You can also see water if it gets in the fuel. Maybe because the way the fuel pump works? Just a thought.

    • @nickopedia5669
      @nickopedia5669 5 лет назад

      they do have them I believe, just inside the tank where they double as a weight. Which doesn't help when it's the fuel lines that are creating the problem.

    • @shannonjohnson2345
      @shannonjohnson2345 Год назад

      My 94 gtx has an inline filter . If you remove the steerage box and air vent in front and look above the the fuel tank you see it there like a clear plastic jar . The fuel lines After that filter also deteriorate and that goes into the carb filters .
