I just bought the super beetle with the ej22 turbo i thought it was producing 5lbs of boost but it was 13lbs of boost not sure what that will make the horsepower but hopefully around 250

Sounds like it should be wild! I would think 13lbs should put you closer to 300hp but I’m no specialist lol

I wanted to build something like you(german look w/STI engine), but I ended up starting a Locost build. I used to own, back in Europe a '68 1500. Very nice job you did there. You have a slipping belt there. I'm thinking about using the Superbeetle windshield for my Locost. Can I ask you a favor? Could you please measure the windshield width(straight line across it). I would appreciate it a lot.

Nice job, I know the feeling, can you share with me your tune msq so I can compare it to my tune. Mine idle and my acell enrichment are wanly, but the rest of my tune is good. If you want I can share mine with you as well

So, I'm really considering a Subi swap vs 2056cc T4. I'm building the car for autocross. Do you feel the extra weight of the engine?

I honestly do not notice extra weight but I never drove the car nearly as hard as I do now lol. I'd like to think with having at least 6x the power and adding a little extra weight in the front with radiator/coolant makes an added weight in the back negligible. I'm not sure that motor to motor there is even a significant weight difference since the Subaru is all aluminum (block/heads). Best of luck!

What do you think the horse power is with the turbo on it

That’s a great question. My guess would be around 250hp with about 8 psi. I’m hoping to get up to 18 psi and around 350hp but will need more suspension and tire before I get to that much boost.

Thank you for that information im looking at a ej22 turbo with 5lbs of boost im hoping that motor will be at least 200hp

That seems very reasonable to me. NA these motors make somewhere between 140-160 so I think an extra 50hp with turbo should be no problem.
