Three under appreciated Wolverines:
1. Jaylen Harrell following Penix into the tunnel to wish him well (instead of celebrating) was total class and sportsmanship.
2. Sainristil INT was superdeluxe at the end. So happy for him. Loved how he did not hesitate to switch to DB (from WR) when asked to make the change. Team player.
3. Edwards getting those 2 TDs after being in the shadows for so long. Unselfish team player. WOW!

THE MAIN REASON FOR MICH SUCCESS WAS THAT THEY WERE A TOTAL TEAM, NOT A FEW STARS LIKE OTHER TEAMS
That’s how Michigan has had so much success discipline,commitment and unselfishness and obviously outstanding coaching they may not have as many 4 and 5 stars as some other teams but they got about everything else which is why there national champions props to them 💯

Win Win Big Ten all day in my eyes!! Its kinda cool that it was essentially an All Big Ten final!!
As sweet as this National Championship was, I gotta say, I still got more excited beating Ohio. I love that rivalry and the Game more than anything else in college football. This was just the cherry on top for me.

Shout out to the offensive line of Michigan. They bulldozed the Washington defensive line! Pancaked them. The Wolverines had over 300 yards rushing!! Congrats to Michigan on their well-earned national championship and to Coach Harbaugh for finally getting to the top of the mountain!! I bet you the view is sweet!!

In all those years I've seen too many seasons start with a national title in our sights, only to be stopped one way or another.
This season was built on the solid foundation of the previous two, and I knew we had all the ingredients this year. I'm literally floating on Michigan pride!

Up in the Big Ten, D sells tickets. Biggest stadiums in college football filled by the top defenses in the country. There was even the worst offense in the entire country, but one of the best defenses, going to Penn State in bad weather and they packed that stadium with 110k in attendance. This was an eye opener for the rest of the football world and those eyes will get real wide over the next few years as the expanded playoffs allows the top defenses to finally and consistently start getting into the mix in games that matter and aren't being phoned in.
What Harbaugh ment was u accused me twice and suspended me 6 games cause you hate me and my great team and not only did u take our 3 hardest games to suspend me but we still took this great moment!! At the end "You can't break us homie"!!! #1

People are crediting Michigans D line and rightfully so but its actually the secondary that should get at least as much credit. As a Washington fan I was very impressed with how easily Michigan was able to take away our deep passes. That Will Johnson kid is a stud especially for a sophomore.

The Big ten had four of the top 5 defenses and the Wolverines and the Wolverines were the top of the four and played the other three, Iowa, Penn State, and Ohio State. Their lowest offensive score all year against was 24 and that was Penn State. Average offense 36-10 average defense

A dominant defense will always shut down a high-flying offense. I said all along that the media was vastly overrating Washington's chances. This team was a 1.5 point underdog to Oregon State in Corvallis. There's no way any legitimate top 4 team is an underdog to the Oregon State Beavers no matter where on Earth that game is played.
Over the years, we've seen plenty of supposedly unstoppable offenses stopped. Look at what the Huskers did to Danny Wuerffel in the '96 Fiesta Bowl, Bob Stoops against FSU, Miami against Eric Crouch, Ohio State against Marcus Mariota, etc etc etc. Michigan was dominant all year long on defense. The real #1 vs. #2 championship game would have been Michigan vs. Georgia. It's unfortunate that the SEC Championship Game prevented that from happening, and we ended up with a Cinderella team at #2 instead.

Penix was exposed multiple times in the Pac-12 against much weaker teams than Michigan. Penix looked good against Texas because the Texas secondary was awful (which is why Dillon Gabriel did whatever he wanted against Texas), and it was a Steve Sarkisian coached team, and Sarkisian has never won a big game in his life.
No shame...Penix is a great talent. Throws such a pretty ball. It would be ideal if he got picked lower by a good team. He could have success right away.

Penix is a great quarterback but you could see this coming. No disrespect to Washington fans, but hearing, on repeat, that Washington played a tougher schedule and that Washington had been tested... well, let's just say it was heard a lot by some people who were just waiting for that reality hammer to drop. Playing other great offenses is not a tough schedule and having half a playbook missing doesn't exactly make a great offense. Facing defenses worse than half of the Big Ten is not being tested. There was some great talent on the Huskies and they could do well elsewhere, but the Big Ten is a different world where it isn't just a race to see who throws the ball furthest the fastest.
Washington had no defense, at least nothing like Michigan was used to, and Michigan had been putting up a 36 ppg average for the season. Them being in that ballpark was easy to predict.
Washington had a great offense in Penix and his receivers, but Michigan was purpose built to stop CJ Stroud and those Buckeye receivers, definitely a high level of offensive talent. The Michigan defense may not have seen a Washington level of offense this season, but they had seen that level over the last couple years.
The stats coming into this did not lie. It was clearly going to be Michigan's to lose. Washington was missing all the stats that mattered against Michigan and Michigan had all the stats that mattered against Washington.
Welcome to the Big Ten, Huskies. The rivalry has started. You have a lot of work to do but it seems like the folks at the helm will be able to run a solid program going forward once they have adjusted their difficulty sliders to match up with life in the Big Ten. Washington is going to get tough now that they will be living in the Big Ten and be a force down the line that won't blink anymore at strong defenses.
Texas ran the ball all over Washington & lost bc the RBs fumbled twice. Michigan ran the ball great and had corners that could cover that was the difference.
