Moving a mirror to catch a fast moving object has been around a hot minute... I watched a film of a tank shell being filmed at a close up angle and wondered how it was possible to move a camera that accurately and while it might should have been obvious I am not a camera/film man but a mirror makes sense.
I live in Japan, they barely have internet banking and every office still uses fax machines. They might manufacure a lot of new technology but they're hesitant to actually use it themselves.
@MrWalker1000 no, he isn't lol. This is actually true. I have lived in Japan myself and while they do invent new technologies japan doesnt like change and fax machines are still a thing at many offices in japan.
japan is the most peaceful country i ever seen.also japanese people are very friendly honest and modernization .they always used new technologies everyday .even old people also like change their technology
You actually have to condition your mind to play VR. I used to get sick with it but pushing through, each time I got used to it. Now, I can play VR for a full day and not get sick.
lmao that translator is funny. because my phone already does this. and it's quite a bit faster at doing it than this device is. I went on a date with a Mexican who does not speak English a while ago. and we used this feature. it actually went pretty well too.
VR could really take off more than it has to date, If only, they would lower the price for an headset and I mainly talking about Vive here and not Rift.
Alien they have to lower the price right now you have to have a gaming pc or certain types of phone. But oculus go may change this a stand alone headset . A headset you can pay and play nothing else needed. You can give them away a gifts.
Windows mixed reality headsets are only around $200 right now and work with steamVR. Think I might grab one with my tax return in the next few weeks. And there's the added bonus of inside tracking, so no setting up cameras.
VR headsets use optics that are still pretty expensive to manufacture at the moment, that's what's keeping the prices up unfortunately. As a long-time Vive user I think VR is definitely well worth the price of admission already though, whichever headset you go for. (I'd wait for the PIMAX 8K).
Somehow the real reality we live in isn't good enough and sitting in front of our phones all day long isn't bad either, we created another world. The world in the next 20 years ppl are going to be so isolated i believe.
Simulating movment in racing games should not be that hard imo. just use gravity and tilt the seat back for acceleration ectr. sure it can't get other 1G at the 90° tilt but still an easy way. would be a bit harder to track the head right thought, so the perspective dosnt tilt to
Doesn't need to be more than 1G I don't think. All you're doing is convincing your brain that it's not stationary and it will fill in the rest with the speed, acceleration etc. About 25 years ago I went on this carnival ride where you sat in a small cinema and it screened someone looking over the edge of a skyscraper in a 1st person perspective, as if you were the person looking over. You could hear the wind and they had a small and quiet fan gently moving air around that you could actually feel on your face. Then the movie showed you peeking over the edge of the building, and as it did that, the seats tilted ever so slightly, and gently, just by about 5-10 degrees. That was scary enough! Then the person who's eyes you are looking through, takes a few steps back and runs and jumps off the building! The seats jolted with each step the person took in their run up to the jump, then went still as he jumped, then they tilted about 15 to 20 degrees as the person fell. I was terrified! And I knew it was just a ride too! Air was blasting out of vents in the floor so it felt like wind was rushing past as you feel, and some people were screaming! Sooo much fun! So, the point of this story is, the brain will do some of the work for you in VR, so it doesn't need to be 100% perfect. My second point is, don't vote for Trump again you Americans! Time to get the normal people out to vote on the next election
Get the quote right; its not 'crystals' or 'unicorn' you dork. The words are: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." Just sayin. RIP Rutger Hauer.

BBC is my favourite. Specially the tech section.
With Japan's technology, creativity, and craziness, the metaverse should be designed in Japan and not by Facebook (Meta) 😁😁
Awesome! This stuff shows how far we've come and opens up so many possibilities its so inspiring!

why is that?
In general they're reluctant to change established ways, it runs through most facets of society.
Maybe it's because they are aware of the downsides.

1. Less fruity electronic music
2. More full frontal nudity
3. A robot that accosts annoying BBC tech hosts
