For the Master Sword memory in TotK, I think it's implied that Link and Zelda returned the Master Sword to the Great Deku Tree's care after defeating the Calamity, allowing it to heal from the battle. It wasn't immediately needed while they were just preparing to restore Hyrule, so it made sense to let it recharge in safety rather than keep draining it on low-level threats. When Gloom started seeping out from beneath Hyrule Castle, and it was determined that Link and Zelda would be the team to investigate it, they retrieved the sword from the Korok Forest immediately before descending beneath the Castle.
For the memory, i thought he put it back after BOTW to let it heal properly or something and he got it again just before going to hyrule castle in the prologue
@@auraFireblood is that the dlc memory? That'd make more sense, but i can only think of the master sword trials, and you take the sword with you after those
Also explained by the fact that Link & Zelda return the master sword after the events of BotW, only to retrieve it once again at a later date. It was still damaged after all.
You missed the “new” room inside the Deku tree in tears that you can find by using ascend. It was an unused dev room in BOTW but since its now accessible due to links new powers it gained a npc in tears. Also My assumption was the Master sword was taken back to the Deku tree after the events of BOTW, and it was pulled back out closer to the events of tears. The Deku tree calls link “keeper of the master sword” so presumably the master sword is still owned by him. Obviously the cutscene was kept vague to accommodate players who never pulled the sword during a BOTW play-through, but i think the scene still works for players who did pull the sword.
@@TheZeldaEnthusiast Yea, it's how you were intended to reach the top of the Deku Tree in Tears. They want you to use and abuse ascend. That's why they have all those Zonai sky rocks along cliffs and such, so that exploration isn't so gated by having maxed out stamina. Which is ironic, considering how in the game you most needed to max stamina, the Master Sword quest needed hearts, while in the game where stamina isn't anywhere near as important, it's what you need to draw the Master Sword. Also, just a statement, you didn't comment on the Geoglyph korok even while talking about the geoglyph itself? Each geoglyph has a korok in Tears.
@michaelwatkins4155 there was nothing in botw where that geoglyph korok is in tears, and bc there are so many koroks, if they dont match up with something in the opposite game, i leave them out
The memory in Korok Forest is of Link and Zelda right before they head underground to investigate the gloom. Sometime after BOTW's ending they bring the sword back to the forest to let it rest. They come back for it a few years later in that memory. My headcanon is that putting the Master Sword back into its pedestal after the Calamity was defeated was the trigger for the disappearance of all the ancient Sheikah tech. We know the pedestal can be a trigger as we've seen it with the Trials. So I think it makes sense that the signal for the Sheikah tech to go away would the action that every hero does at the end of their adventure. The Sheikah tech didn't disappear recently, it would have to be right after BOTW.
15:02 He dropped it off at some point after defeating calamity ganon. Then, a little bit before the start of the game Zelda and Link go back to grab the sword again so it could fully heal and recharge and stuff. In this scene he’s wearing the same outfit as he did at very start of the game. So it’s assumed he got the sword then they went down to investigate the gloom.
The first one i found i automatically assumed they were hostile. Literally had to accidentally hit a bubble and not get hurt to realize theyre harmless, peaceful creatures
15:14 I have my own interpretation for that cutscene. In past games we see link put away the master sword after the final boss is defeated. Specifically skyward sword, but that’s kind of forced because Fi needs to go into the eternal sleep. But the sword does get put away. So I think link did pull the master sword to defeat calamity ganon in botw. But between the final cutscene and this memory, I think Link ended up putting the sword back. Since there was probably no monsters to fight. But when reports of the gloom infecting people began to rise, Zelda and Link went back to the Korok forest in case something was down there. Which is how memory 1 fits into all of this. But that’s JUST A THEORY (lol)
While completely pointless information to most, regarding charm sizes (excluding the wells, Hyrule Castle Chasm, Death Mountain, and Birida) the Great Plateau South Chasm is the smallest, while the Drenan Chasm is the largest of all the standard chasms as far as I can remember.
im so glad the darkness was lifted from thyphlo in totk, i wanted to explore it in botw so i had to find a video of someone who hacked the game to remove it instead, ofc until totk came out
These videos keep highlighting for me that the developers initially intended for the TotK map to be back in time. Down grading hinoxes, completely removing all Sheikah stuff.
@@TheZeldaEnthusiast I mean, maybe I'm crazy, but the lack of skull in the military training camp tower spot feels like too big of an oversight. Even caves and the depths opening up makes less sense than caves and the depths collapsing, imo. I'd have to rewatch all the comparisons, but I do wonder if when they first deleted all the Sheikah stuff from the map (save the one lone guardian at the tech lab) if the intention was an alternate or past timeline and not simply a few years later. Maybe the new Creating a Champion well offer some insights on that

I think there are fairies at the top of the Deku tree too, if you climb up there with less than three in your inventory.
Now that you mention it, I think you're right. I've been stocking up on fairies for the tours and so theyre not always spawning in

great video. the comparison was really well done please do more videos of this style when you have time.... i know it takes a lot of research etc

can you do a video comparing the texture on links armpits between games 🤔? itd mean a lot to me personally!
Hmm... im working on a script about why he wears green. How about that instead? Maybe itll come up when talking about the ancient tunic in totk 😉

Hestu does change places from BOTW to Tok. He initially stands on a maraca but then is moved off it. No clue why they’d move him off it though.
We can go to Lake Saria in Totk , it’s a Little difficult but it’s possible, you gotta go from Ninjis shrine and follow the path of silent mushrooms.
