I've participated in one deposition. I had the opposing attorney out of his mind. I knew I was doing well. If the opposing attorney is happy, you're playing into his/her hands.

The ONLY time you should add extra into an answer is when the defense ask you a question in an area that might hurt your case and you need to change the subject.

    Hello Vincent
I am aware of an injured employee that is very suspicious of their employment attorney wanting to add the wrongful termination to the workers comp case.
The employment attorney has justified combining adding the wrongful termination to the WC case by stating “You don’t want to go to court twice do you?”
I suspect this is some kind of trick.
    Thank you Vince.

Question: This the deposition be a test to feel you out on how you may act on the stand? Can the defense make you angry, or confuse you, or make you lie? If they can here, it might seem they are as likely or more so in a stressful situation as a court room. If I understand correctly, you can ask the defense to restate a question differently, if you find the question confusing?

I contacted a employment lawyer I'm waiting for them to call back. It's been 3 or 4 days. I'm patient tho.

I think sometimes plaintiff employees tend to focus on the things their employer did that hurt them the most, even though legally it may be unimportant.

Pro se hearing answering Def council questions yah they got pissed. I asked her to restate when asking two or more questions and I objected irrelevant before answering others.

I made a detailed timeline of events, and this was for my attorney, but also more me. Can I use my written timeline of events during this process? If they are asking what happened, but it happened a year ago, I am not sure I will fully and accurately recall. It would help having my notes in front me me. Is that possible?

I have another question if you have time. It's about check stubs we only get personal checks. We have to request our check stubs. It takes awhile sometimes.

You can go online with your bank and download copies of the deposits that you made to your checking or savings account. If you don’t have access online, you can call your bank and ask them to print copies of your checks that you deposited.

Is it possible to hire an attorney just to defend a deposition? How would one go about that?
