  • This video is an in-depth review of the LCD Panel Kit for the ThermalTake Tower 500 PC case. This upgrade is a direct replacement for the front or side panels.
    Despite a lack of some in-depth customizeable options for some of the features, this panel is Awesome. Looks good and is very simple to get started. It looks great with your new or existing Tower 500 case, check it out.

      Thanks minecraftmike5193!!! Incredibly, Thermaltake hasn't offered to pay me a dime, it's sad! haha. The fact that you found it helpful though makes it worth doing. It's fun times! Thanks for the support and for watching!!!

    Great video :) Oh i would love it: Started building yesterday in this AWESOME 500 Tower. A little info: This will include welding and soldering and some extra metals, sanding, primers and paints, as well as some creative artwork. It will be my most extensive and time consuming build ever and I have built quite a few over the years. However, the downside is that i have not been able to afford now hardware to mount in the case, so I still have the old Aorus Motherboard X470 and a few slightly older parts, older fans etc. but the money is not there to buy new unfortunately. But i will do my best to make an EPIC tribute to this AMAZING Thermaltake case, that's a promise - All the best from Denmark

      Hi DANE! That sounds like an Awesome Build! This has been probably my favorite case....and Older hardware is ok as long as it does what you need it to do. I have those same problems....:). I haven't modded this obviously, but I do have ideas on a Halloween PC that this case would be perfect for. I'd love to see or hear about how this turns out if there is somewhere we can see it, or send a pic to andrew@hardwareartisan.com
      Good luck and remember to have lots of Fun, love it!!! Thanks for watching!!

    Thanks man. So the USB goes in the display and the other end on your motherboard? And the software, does it remember what you have on display? Does it remember when you close the software? Or do you need the software always running and set it up again and again when starting up your computer?

    I love the idea of this tech, but I agree that the software needs some major improvements. I also wish there was a way to use working tablets as a way to reuse tablets.

    The CPU Load stats on my system are off as well on the TT LCD Panel. It is consistently 2x (double) the actual CPU Load, therefore I am inclined to think there is an error in the software code line that calculates the CPU Load.

    Quick question: have you figured out how to completely turn off the panel without disabling fast boot + usb pd in S5 state?

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  Год назад

      Hi cube, the only thing i've done is turn the "light" option off in TT RGB PLUS, this does leave the backlight on unless you turn the brightness all the way down. Doing that makes it at least 'appear' that it's off. Although it's not truly off.
      I'll have to mess around with it though, that's a great question!! Thanks for watching!!!

    Is it possible to remove the LCD panel and put it in a different case as a stand alone item?

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  Год назад +1

      Hi Horse Man Sam, Yes, the LCD panel itself is removable, just a couple of screws hold it to the case panel. You might have to get creative in how to mount it, but it would totally work. I can see many places I could put that panel. You might check and see if thermaltake sells that as a standalone panel, i'm not sure off the top of my head. Great question, good luck and have fun!! Thanks for watching!!!

    I can't shake the feeling that this case was a 3d printer that someone repurposed into a PC case 🤣

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  Год назад +1

      LOL, you might be correct in that feeling! I do like a good 3d printer as well, perhaps we should make a 3d printer PC hybrid out of this case ..might be cool and ridiculous... haha. Thanks for watching!!

      Are the mesh dust filters removable like they are in the case?
      Also I don't know why this case isn't getting more coverage, I have it and it's phenomenal.

    anyone know if this is compatible with the tower 900, my google-fu is failing me :(

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi thelusiv1, Although I've not sat this panel next to a tower900, the dimensions of the tower 900 is larger in width, so it won't fit directly. The factory opening on the tower 900 that is there is for a 5.25 inch device which wouldn't directly fit this LCD panel either.
      However, all that said, the LCD panel itself is just a USB powered and controlled panel and is easy to remove from the metal panel, so it could certainly be used on a Tower 900, you would just have to modify a place for it to mount. I haven't done it, but the panel itself technically would work on any PC, just not a direct fit. Thanks for watching!!!

    I would definitely NOT buy it at the $100 asking price, this thing is not worth more than $10. Resolution of the screen is so low and the quality of the software is really bad.

      I am with you. You can add a 5” to 7” HDMI display to your rig for about the same price, and not be tied to the Thermal Lake Software.
