Old timer plumber who brought me up in the trade told me. Never trust a plumber who wears shorts to work. Lol great video man. You are right about plumbing work. I turn away more work then i can do. Average age in florida for a pkumber is 53. When they cant work anymore in 10 years...my price gose way up. The service field is "fucked" People will be waiting for service even more then they are now.
try dealing with the garbage materials provided now days... parts missing, things broken new in sealed box, sold out and claim they have a dozen. it really sucks for the honest folk whom do small same day repairs from local box stores. either none of them have the products or what's there is all garbage or missing parts on factory sealed packaging. **even larger jobs having materials delivered you get forked over on, then it makes you look bad to customers, waiting days to week for more materials (even after you ordered 30% over!) it makes an honest guy not want to work at all, then they're spinning fudge left and right to top it all off. I have only done honest emergency repairs at small business/residential. A/C, appliance, computer/IT and water leaks. spending as minimal as possible, but I always do about that :)
I installed a church seat on my own "throne" here... and no it's not a slow close, it's called quit being a lazy sloppy forker and get more exercise by doing small chores as lifting/closing a lid ;)
I've got to say....totally disagree with your assessment. My slow-close Bemis seat never gave me a problem until after years and years of use it started to slam close. So based on your video I went a got the American Standard....and didn't like it. Even when tight it would still move on the toilet, and wasn't shaped as well as the Bemis. Thankfully HD allowed me to return it...and I got the Bemis 7M 1680SLST, which was the same thing I had previously. Bemis provides a part that slides into the toilet attachment holes, preventing the seat from moving around. And it gives you a small plastic wench which you used to tighten the elongated nuts....in which the outer part breaks off at the proper torque.
slow close until it isn't... SLAM. if they try to close themselves, I'd think the house/throne was real out of plumb, tank stupidly shaped or maybe the lid. but it could be it loosened and shifted backwards or was installed too far back to start with( most have those silly adjustable washers/slots) **other issues, tank pitched forward, from toilet flange roughed too close to wall and lid not fitting fully, or triple bolt tank uneven mounted. seen lots of that in the past, also dumb vinyl foam cushion seats on ancient thrones tend to be too "lid" puffy and love to close, lets not forget silly pets that love to barge in and try to jump into the whizz stream(cats mostly) more than once I have stopped flow while lurching hand down to stop fleabags from diving in :))

Live stream - bring it on Charles 😁👍
On it!
Live stream........just don’t live stream on the toilet seat. 😂🤣😆
What brand of toilets do you recommend?
Hello Chuck , I sure hope you weren't affected by the flooding in your state.
No thankfully....You?
Mid stream I m dieing LOL
oh real problem for sure. lol
Looks like the lid and the toilet seat are parallel to the tank (90 degrees). The seat needs to be mounted more towards the front.
On it.

Have you ever had to fix an American standard slow close that the seat closes too fast. The lid is fine.
Have not seen any posts lately. What’s up chuck
Super busy.
Chuck Barron same here man. Same here. Just did a 70ft pipe burst in cherry hill nj
One of main reason why you hire full time plumber, so your sons still can working while you in the firehouse.
Main reason is to get out the truck and build the empire. One block at a time.
