I have a c230 and I recently replaced my alternator and after That I turned my car on and my headlights automatically turns on without even switching “on” and also my tail lights/dash lights don’t turn on either when turning the lights “on” 😤 my headlights are basically always on when the car is turned on and when turn i off the car the headlights are finally off.. somebody pls explain 😔

Considering the problem was intermittent it would be really difficult to leave the car apart just to sit around and wait. If it didn't fix it I'd take it back apart.
I totally agree about checking system for work before installing parts. Plus, wouldn't you hand screw the bolts/nuts before you start power tooling it in to avoid cross-threading the threads.

I have an 05 SLK55 AMG, the alarm module is under the hood, under the battery cover, next to the battery on the right hand side of the vehicle. Thanks for your video it lead me in the right direction to solve the flashing fog and rear light issue. If your small alarm module batteries go dead your lights will flash continually when you lock the car and kill your main battery possibly leaving you stranded somewhere, ONLY MERCEDES!! LOL A set of torx with a hole to remove the locking screw can be obtained at Harbor Freight, Lowes or any auto parts store. Just FYI Bosch makes many parts for European car makers and private labels them.
My taillights lights up then goes off then the extra backuplight comes on and this happens to both taillight so just because 1 of them is not working both of them stop working , and when I unplug then plug back in it works sometime not I’ve changed all the light but nothing helps the wires are ok is it maybe this thing I need to do ?

For my 2007 c 280, the alarm just isn't working, along with the little locking chirp that happens when you lock the car. If I purchase this new unit, will it still make the same chirping noise it did previosouly

I have a 06 s500 w220 and the fog lights and interior lights and tail lights are flashing even when the car is off but I checked my wheel wells and I don't have a unit like that in any wheel well. Is my car have the siren in a different place
@@deandrewatson1608 no I didn't drive it for about 3 weeks cause I have a 01 s430 AMG package so I drove that since I couldn't figure out what to do with the lights on the 500 and the whole 3 weeks I had the battery disconnected and then I got in to drive it and it didn't do it anymore and it's been about 2 months and it's still running perfectly I don't know what happened so I'm not much help but I know how these cars are they do weird things, I keep waiting for it to start back up with the lights but I've done a lot of stuff with the car and it hasn't started back yet. Hope you get yours fixed. If you do figure out what it is I'd still like to know so I'm still doing research trying to figure it out and I'll let you know if I do and if you figure it out please let me know as well.
If you use LED lights anywhere on a newer Mercedes you must parallel a resistor with the bulb or you'll get burnt out bulb errors. Resistors are typically 4 to 6 Ohm 50 to 100 Watt aluminum cased and mounted to a metal surface to dissipate the heat because they get VERY HOT in operation.
I installed LED fog lights on my 2001 C230. I had to install two load resistors so that I did not get an error on the dash. Now for some reason the left fog light is flashing when I go to unlock the car. Possibly the resistor is blown but I believe it could be the alarm siren module. Great video guys!
2CarPros - I have the 08 SLK55 AMG and my fog lights cycle when the car is on (no alarm sound): left only on, both on, right only on, both on, repeat. I had been getting error codes but my dealer replaced the left headlight bulb. Now no codes, no alarm sound, but this cycling which seems to coincide with if I am in drive, reverse, park. Is this issue related to the alarm siren? Any other thoughts?

The Ceiling Lamps of my W211 E200 Kompressor 2004 model car are parked, the doors, windows are closed and locked, after a while when the sunshade is closed, the ones under the mirror also light up. There is no error log on the computer. Also, in this case, the front fog lamps flash about 5-6 times a minute. Why is that? Help please.

Hey, so I have the problem where unfortunately one fog light on my 2001 c240 will come on about 30 seconds AFTER the car is locked. Or even if the car is just off and doors closed. Will stay on forever until you interact with the car again....or the battery dies. Goes off when you start the car again. No matter what light mode you’re in. Could this be the same problem?? I’ve had to jump my car everyday.
@@adrianarebeca7082 Hi, unfortunately not. I think mechanics said it was a possible wiring corrosion somewhere and it’d be a lot to figure out where exactly it was coming from. Also cold weather seemed to have something to do with it. Hope you have things figured out soon!
I never had a problem with the fog lights till I installed LED's. They look beautiful but they flash in increments of 5 Seconds or so. I'm so pissed because I was looking forward to them. Is there anyway to get around it without replacing that piece, because I know that wouldn't fix it. Can I put resistors in the wires or something? I have a 08 CLK350. Such an amazing clean car, but now I'm starting to see why people warned me about getting a Mercedes. Seems like everything is a pain in the ass to do on it. Can anybody help?
Jimmy King you need put a resistor on each side positive wire so a car computer can sense original light bulb!Becase led light bulb used less power ,what original light bulb used,or you can buy online canbus led foghlight bulb, on that case no need a resistor.l hope this help you!

Use the right tool for the right job. A panel puller works best for removing the clips securing the fender well liner.
Also, who works on a Mercedes without a decent Torx socket set?

@2CarPros Dude. Just buy the tools instead of using anything around. The Torx tools are not that expesive

You said remove the inner fender on the left side but you were clearly working on the right side of the vehicle right?

Get a relay harness Whith capacitors, that happens to the Jeep Grand Cherokee headlights too

yep, it should the chip comes from the alarm unit.

If this was a Volvo they use snap off bolts and it goes off if you unplug it.

just bought and installed resistors just for it to be the same issue. Not sure why but it did not change a single thing.
