In 1984 I wore my WASP shirt proud and took verbal and some physical abuse from jocks, preps and punks. The truth is that mainman Blackie Lawless has always wanted to offer more than sex, drugs and exploding codpieces, but despite making his intentions plain on the unsung gems like Dying For The World and Unholy Terror, his band remain most loved for their early works; a frustrating situation for an eccentric artist who has nearly always aimed for cerebral depth over lascivious dirt. A logical continuation of the blistering hard rock sprawl of 2009's Babylon, Golgotha is full of muscular riffing, soaring melodies and moment of Who-like bombast, with very little of the snot'n'spite that informed Blind In Texas and I Wanna Be Somebody, but Blackie's determination to defy the past works in his favour throughout. Pulsating with energy and concentrated fury, songs like Last Runaway and Fallen Under are the equal of anything in the W.A.S.P. catalogue, but lifted to an even higher level via the organic oomph of arrangements that are as timeless as they are timely. It´s hard to pick one band as favorite especially with bands like Slayer, Dio, Napalm death, etc. but WASP has always been beyond all comparisons. Thay have their place in the Rock Olympus since the very beginning and for all eternity
I heard a couple of years ago that Blackie Lawless had become Christian, just like Alice Cooper did years before him. I think it is great that he has courage to make his own decisions. As a child I used to enjoy the album "The Last Command", as well as the first album a couple years later. Last weekend I listened to the albums "The Headless Children" and "The Crimson Idol" for the very first time. I have to say that after listening those two albums you cannot say that all the W.A.S.P. albums sound exactly the same. The first two albums are very much "In Your Face" style metal, THC and TCI have many songs with a deeper meaning. I don't know how I have managed to avoid those two albums until know because they are as good as the first WASP albums. This song doesn't sound anything like those albums I have heard from W.A.S.P. I haven't still listened any of their songs since The Idol but you may know better. Oh well...OK now I remember I have heard also Still Not Black Enough but I really didn't like it on those days. Christianity is very good. If all the men and women were Christians we would already live in Heaven.
I don't care if people think it sounds like this or that. Maybe it reminds them of many things W.A.S.P. has done before - So F**king what. The same applies to any true musician who has found their(his(hers sound... - but look at all the electronicas out there - they're stealing things from the 50s and 60s these dys - JUST to make through on their own creativity.... CRAP! I love THIS band for their honesty - and NEVER to give in to THAT - They've got THEIR sound! FINITO! - This is TRUE MUSIC - same with KISS - never really gave up their thing , neither did IRON MAIDEN (And they have several "similar-looking" songs to their name...but Who the hell cares... THey are AWESOME!)...I could on...but right now, I'm enjoying the sounds of this particular W.A.S.P.-tune yet again or f**k off people :)

Or if you want to drink your favourite beer, you'll go and get it, you know what the taste will be like, you'll buy it, you'll drink it, you'll love it. I got this feeling when I listen to ACDC, WASP and Motörhead. The bands might die, the music will live on forever.
Been a fan since I was 6 years old. Dad played Headless Children in the basement all the time during the early 90s during work outs. This song makes me tear up in remembrance of him.
WASP always makes great songs but I feel through alot of their career they picked bad singles for songs that didn't show what the bad could really do. This is the best song from Golgotha and the video is pretty cool too! I hope WASP never quits their cds are too fucking good! While this song is a lazy copy of Crazy (and some inserts from Seas Of Fire), this video actually improved the song for me o.o One of the best lyrical videos I've seen so far! Love the "still not black enough" ravens and "crimson idol"-ish crosses. The video just "screams" WASP, so to speak ;)
Like the track, does sound like a cross between Crazy from Babylon & Teacher from Dominator. A little too clean sounding for me, but once I pop the CD into my truck, I'm sure I'll grab onto it more. Can't wait to hear the whole album.
+boomboomsniffsniff I never heard Crazy and listened to parts of it, and then parts of this. And after switching back and forth a few times, I couldn't keep track of which song was playing.
I agree, but the new songs sound so 'clean' kind of, and more 'white light', than 'dark and moody', like earlier recordings. Whether that is good or not, is too early to say. The new stuff is taking time to grow on me. Normally Blackie's songs, usually grab me in an instant. What I can hear without any shadow of a doubt though us that Blackie's voice never let's him down. And that is his crowning glory. He is a great guy, and I feel a lot less moody than he was 10/15 years ago. I think he is finding more happiness in his life these days. Good old Blackie. :-)
This is one of the best songs I've heard in quite a while. And the reason is quite simple - it's a simple, straight forward, rock/ metal song which is catchy and memorable. That's what drew me to metal & rock 35 years ago. There was an energy about it that other kinds of music didn't have. Last time I really listened to WASP was around the time they had just released 'The Crimson Idol', yep, quite a long time ago. Around that time I had gotten myself into bother with drink and drugs and slowly lost my own sense of identity. It's like losing yourself and forgetting who you are or were. Anyway, nearly 15 years have gone by since I quit all that but I'm still piecing the bits of my life back together. And this song has helped me remember why I loved this kind of music. I'm going to have to delve further into WASP's back catalogue and see what other hidden gems I missed out on. And of course other bands with a similar style.
Best part of the song starts around 02:55, this is why I fell in love with Blackie's songwriting back in the day. Even though this reminds me a lot of "Crazy" it's still a solid song, not perfect but alright.
the greatest band of all time 🎸 still producing great albums & still keeping the original sound from the classic albums like w.a.s.p, last command, inside the electric circus & crimson idol.
This is heavy metal at its finest....and up to date in my opinion their best ever album .like aged whiskey they get better and better album after album. From helldorado onwards i call it wasp.2. Without forgetting the first part pf their career pure cracking metal anthems.
Blackie Lawless is doing christian music now it seems(THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A CHRISTIAN SONG)..Not my thing but still got great respect for him as an artist..
+Chris Nichols I wouldn't really call it christian music, as little as I would call i.e. "Sleipnir" by Manowar nordic music. It's just based on their mythology, not "spreading the word of the gospel".
In my opinion, Blackie Lawless is the greatest songwriter in Heavy Metal. How long has he been at it? Since the mid-70's? He may not get the exposure as others, but his quality is unmatched in my book.

Like the track, does sound like a cross between Crazy from Babylon & Teacher from Dominator. A little too clean sounding for me, but once I pop the CD into my truck, I'm sure I'll grab onto it more. Can't wait to hear the whole album.
Blackie legend of Rock
🎸😎
Blackie sounds great, but this song is pretty much "Crazy" off their last album, both musically and lyrically.
+boomboomsniffsniff My thoughts exactly! It doesn't even try to hide it.
+boomboomsniffsniff Yea... nice but not innovative at all
+boomboomsniffsniff I never heard Crazy and listened to parts of it, and then parts of this. And after switching back and forth a few times, I couldn't keep track of which song was playing.
+Jamie Laszlo Same thing here dude! :D :D :D
To me it's christian music..........Anyways he is a born again christian .Whatever the hell that means nowadays..............
+Chris Nichols unfortunatelly you right,it's christian.but WASP is my favourite band and I'll respect them anyway
Of course.I grew up on them.Fist full of diamonds was my anthem song when i was a kid.Still love that tune..
what?! what makes you say that???!!!
In my opinion, Blackie Lawless is the greatest songwriter in Heavy Metal. How long has he been at it? Since the mid-70's? He may not get the exposure as others, but his quality is unmatched in my book.
Been a fan since 1984. 40yrs later, W.A.S.P. still amazes me with each album.
So what are the chances of this album actually releasing in the US? Am I going to have to get it international? I will, I just want to know.

He still sings like that. Amazing
I'm no believer in God but I do pray at the alter of rock and roll and this song is divine!
There is one true God , Jesus Christ , Blackie knows that , I'm a proud Christian and follower of Jesus Christ , I don't force my faith on anyone but I encourage you to try praying to accept Jesus as your savior , what can it hurt? I pray you do . Have a blessed weekend .
Recently, Blackie has started sounding a lot like classic Meatloaf from the Bat Out Of Hell days. Blackie sounds amazing, powerful and terrific!!! Keep rockin' and rollin, Blackie!!!
Wasp is so underrated. I've been a fan since 1992, the pure mix of glam, metal and rocknroll
