    Learn how to become a nurse practitioner in no time! Becoming an NP is difficult but it is definitely worth it! When I started even thinking about becoming a nurse practitioner I could barely find any information out there. The internet has come a long way even in the last decade, but there is still a lack of NP-specific information. Hopefully, this can help!

    Thanks for this information! I’m interested in becoming a midwife but I have a bachelors degree in Information Systems. I’ve found accelerated programs for students interested in nursing with a non-nursing undergrad. The programs are 4-5 semesters. Do you think I’ll still need 1-5 years of nursing experience before embarking on my midwife journey? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

    If you have an MSN, then do need a post masters certificate in order you get your NP certificate?

    • @WillKellyNP
      @WillKellyNP  3 года назад +1

      What is your MSN in? Any Master's degree in nursing should be eligible to apply for postmaster's degree programs. However, if you are not already a practicing NP you will likely just have to take advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, and advanced health assessment in addition to the postmaster's program curriculum. Hope that helps!

      @brianawesomite1766 3 года назад

      Take AP Psych and AP English and get them out of the way, they are very annoying classes in college so its best just to get them out of the way early. Also, honors biology and chem wont count for college, they would need to be AP and you need to pass the tests with a 3 to have those credits taken in.

    Can I complete my RN program with low vision? Will phlebotomy be a must to finish ?

    • @WillKellyNP
      @WillKellyNP  2 года назад +1

      Low vision? While there are certainly job opportunities available to RNs who have impaired senses such as teaching, bedside nursing requires a significant portion of visual assessment and nursing skills. This will be difficult with poor vision that is not correctable, and could pose a safety risk to patients at the bedside setting.

    do Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners do the same as other works of a psychologist?

    • @WillKellyNP
      @WillKellyNP  2 года назад +1

      Psychiatric mental health NPs function similarly to Psychiatrists, no psychologists. Depending on the state and the practice location, PMHNPs will often be working in collaboration with psychiatrists. So they will be assessing mental health disorders and prescribing medications and therapy to help! Hope this helps clear some things up.
