This is why I opt to go 2-3 hours after the store opening. This allows staff members of the meat/produce/bakery department some time to mark down their products. At some point, those items would be gone by lunch hour. The same could be said for the 2nd markdown which happens hours before closing, especially on pre-prep-food/food-to-go. But do be mindful of "dinner rush" hours as well.

Mary - Next time you're shopping for chocolate at Aldi, don't miss the Moser-Roth brand. The bars are over 4 ounces for only $2 (5 individually wrapped smaller bars inside each package). Perfect portion control and we love all the varieties, especially the dark sea salt caramel and the 85% dark (not bitter at all). Highly recommend.

This has been a good year for cherries. Walmart and Kroger has had cherries for $1.99 a lb for a couple of weeks now. They are in excellent shape and really flavorful. They really help with gout for those who suffer from it.

It was probably the brutal heatwave across Texas this year that killed a lot of the corn. My freezer is stocked to the gills with fresh corn right now. At the end of July I took a little mini-vacation to see family back in Iowa. The corn was ready and almost every farmer was selling sweet corn at rock bottom prices (about 2 ears for $1). I also hit several Amish and Mennonite stores and farm stands, buying all kinds of healthy home-grown goodies and produce. But the craziest thing I saw was an "Amish ALDI store" in the middle of rural Iowa. Apparently, the owner of this Amish store goes probably to Des Moines, buys ALDI products, and resells them to his Amish neighbors. --Even the Amish admit defeat!! ALDI is able to produce great products at cheap prices that even the Amish cannot beat them. 😅 😊

ALDI was one of my mother’s favorite stores. Being a German origin store made it extra special for her. During holidays they would stock things she knew as a child. She simply loved it.

I had an Aldi's cashier tell me the same thing. Come first thing in the mornings. Cashier also stated, that items are often marked down in the mornings without any notification until the item is rang out. For example I had a $26 pan rang up for $2.47. Everyone in line left and purchased the pans. Bottom line shop first thing in the morning.

Hi Mary. Love your videos. Here in the UK, Aldi sell Peanut Butter made in the USA. Its pure peanuts, nothing addded. I am seriously addicted to the crunchy peanut butter in the big plastic tub £3.99. A fresh stick of celery crunched and dipped many times into the peanut butter is so so good.

I love the Aldi organic whole bean coffee you mention, and the Honduras beans are low acid, which is important to me. Aldi cheese is always a fantastic deal, I love the sharp Vermont cheddar too. Their white chocolate is another favorite, and the half and half is $1 per quart cheaper than anywhere else near me. I will experiment making my own with the organic milk and heavy cream as you suggested, though, that sounds great. I saw a great price on BBQ seasonings pack this week. Be careful with the avocados as sometimes they have too many overripe ones in the bags. Organic bananas are only two cents per pound more than the regular banana prices at my local grocers. I'm glad to see you doing these Aldi shopping hauls, I am a huge fan.

Hi Mary! Thanks for taking us on a field trip today😊 We LOVE shopping at Aldi's. So many items are much cheaper than local grocery store. I'm with you, I can't leave Aldi without checking the chocolate...lol My granddaughter is 5 and just a tad spoiled by me. She loves the chocolate from Aldi, and so do I. In my personal opinion, the chocolates from Germany and Switzerland are more creamy and not as waxy as American chocolate. Thanks for all the great tips. I'll have to pop over to my Aldi's this week and stock up on a few things.

Regarding the ground beef-it depends what dish you are making which percent of fat you want. For example, when making lasagna or spaghetti, I prefer less fat, or 93%lean. When I make meatloaf, I prefer the 85% lean, because the higher fat content will be a moist meatloaf.
Thank you for this video, and all the hard work you do for your subscribers

Hi sweet Mary. As and FYI for you, I wanted to share that, sadly, Aldi’s prices are not the same throughout the United States. I live in Southern California and rushed to Aldi’s the moment I saw your video yesterday (8/26). Each of the 10 items and the 3 bonus items were anywhere from $2 to $4 more per lb. or per item at sale prices, compared to the prices you showed us. The mini avocados came 4 in a bag on sale for $4.79. Right now, I can get 4 large Haas Avocados at Sprouts on sale for $4.50. In each case, Costco has better pricing for a similar version of each product. By the way, it looks like Costco does have same pricing throughout the USA, because their prices were the same as in your Costco video. Thank you for all your wonderful teachings sweet Mary. Margie

    Hi Mary,
I like your information! You just showed the 🌽, I drive out in the country in Michigan for work and the farmers have produce stands out, $3.00 for a dozen. I’ve bought zucchini, cucumbers 🥒 and tomatoes 🍅 and sometimes they just ask for a donation. Also yellow squash, green beans and watermelon. Hope that helps the viewers too! ❤❤❤

Mary, I love these videos you do at Aldi's and Costco. I live an hour away from Aldi, but made it there yesterday. The ground beef was not on sale. There was 1 left of the 85%; no other ground beef. I got the last one and then asked the man stocking if they had more; tomorrow was the answer. I told him it was $2.99 in Texas. He said that was a good deal. I paid $4.69. But I did grab some of those good coffee beans. No cherries here. I live in the east coast.

Went to Aldi for the first time. Thank goodness for your tips. Here in north NJ, we only have a few nice grocery stores. Most are not impressive. So the disorganized store near me did not derail me. I got the meat and butter and cheese and found a few more healthy bargains. If I had not seen P
people like you shopping there I would have walked out. My store is not well stocked or organized. Very strange vibe but there are good bargains.

I buy most of the products you mentioned Mary but I was surprised you didn’t stress organic corn and cherries since especially corn is GMO, genetically modified and or treated with round up! Cherries are very good for your blood but I go organic with those as well and sometimes these days it is better to get things from other countries where GMO’s are actually prohibited. The US allows way too many companies to mess with our food and make us sick 🤢

I LOVE Aldi..there are a couple of things that I don't like and I buy elsewhere. I prob buy 95% of my groceries at Aldi including toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent and dish detergent. I love their produce and their sprouted grain organic bread and the sour dough bread. Their cranberry white cheddar cheese (it's in a round and it's $3 for 8 ounces) is addictive...my husband and I can't stop eating it. I'm lactose intolerant and a half gallon of lactose free milk is $3.19...and the organic 100% grass fed ground beef tastes like hamb. used to taste when I was a kid...AND the price...reg price is $5.49 a pound but it's been on sale for several weeks now for $3.99 a pound and I stocked up...their premium ground breakfast sausage in the best and it's $2.19 a pound...it compares to name brands, but it's better. I could go on and on but I'll end with this: don't turn your nose up like a friend of mine did b/c she didn't recognize any of the brands and had to put a quarter in the lock to get a cart and had to bring your own bags or pay for your bags at 5 cents a bag...she's on a tight budget and missing out. Keep some quarters in your car and don't use them for anything else; same for bags..keep them in the trunk of the car.

We don’t have Aldi here in Norway, but I still find the information useful, and I do get ideas as you share your thoughts as you go through things. Seeing your cheerful smile is also brightening up my day ☺ You are a lovely person, and making learning new things a pleasure.
I got your book in the mail this Thursday, and was really excited about that. 😉 So happy when I found it for sale in the online book store, and ordered it the day after, to make sure it would come about the same time I returned home from a family event (My younger brother’s wedding)☺
Touching the title, I could feel it emphasized with the extra little detail there. Things like that does not go unnoticed, and I appreciate attention to little details like that. I also love that the book is a «how to» manual, and not just a cookbook. The info is easy to scroll up too, when I need to review something I need to freshen up. One of the best investments I’ve made in a while for sure. Knowlegde is gold. Thank you for sharing 🥰
