I tried “white knuckling” being off the drink for two years, eventually I thought I could drink in moderation, I mean hey I gave up for two years I don’t have a problem. Needless to say my friends gave me a choice, carry on drinking and they walk away or get help and they’ll be by my side through the journey. After 4 years of being sober I still have them next to me and have their support. Thank you Bubbie for showing me that I wasn’t alone on this journey.

Bubbie, I have lost multiple friends and family members to drinking and drugs over the years. One of my childhood best friends is a stranger to me now because of his struggle with alcholism, so for you to actually listen to your friend in that moment and take charge of your life is seriously tremendous. I have tried and tried to do the same with my homie, but he just isn't ready to put it down yet. Your positivity is something that everyone can draw from through, myself included! So thank you for sharing these things.
