Exactly like Jonathan mentioned below. My Hoover was ever so slightly different from this candy with just a few tiny differences but this video gave me the confidence to swap the capacitor. Great example of what RUclips is made for

Thank you so much. The capacitor had died in our tumble dryer and thanks to this video I could accurately disassemble the tumble dryer. Replace the faulty capacitor with a new one and reassemble the tumble dryer myself. This saved me having to call out a professional and saved me a fair amount of money.
Very well made, very informative, excellently talked through point by point. Will definitely use your videos again.
    Thanks again, Chris

Just replaced the capacitor on our newer model Candy tumble dryer. This video was very informative, despite the slight difference between models (ridged drum to guide the belt), we replaced it and reinstalled the drum with the belt still in place.
A lot of swearing was used.
But we got there in only three hours! So thank you for the video it was very helpful.

Brilliant, step by step video. Thank you. I had a gunked up float switch issue - would never have found it without this video! Shame the manufacturer doesn't build an inspection plate onto machine for easier access to components. or maybe there just isn't room? Ah well, why do things the easy way when you can do them the hard way!

Awesome video! Capacitor had gone in mine. it was reading 1.3uF instead of 7uF. I managed to change it without removing the drum, although I did remove the fan. A bit fiddly getting two arms in there to deal with the capacitor, but a lot less hassle than removing and re-fitting the drum. I found it helped a lot to put the machine up on a table and tilt it backwards so I could get both arms in there.

Thanks to you, I have now just fixed my tumble dryer. had to remove the front and the drum, etc to get to the sump for the water tray - it contained so much muck it was tripping the 'container full' solenoid switch. It's working fine now. Nice one.

To the person that asked. I managed to replace the capacitor without removing the drum. It was extremely fiddly. Just used the capacitor of an old servis machine. It was rated at 8 uf but did the job.. ( should have been 7uf)

Thanks to this video I was confident enough to check and service the front bearings. Turns out they only had some residue/swalf/bits from I think the drum belt as it's starting to perish.

Informative video. Few points that I did differently. Didn't unplug any wiring except the bottom sensor. Didn't pull out the drum all the way out, but just enough to access the capacitor and undo the nut and plugs. What a horrible maintenance design, obviously deliberately so. Hardest part was to screw the drum back into the chassis. Really need a 2nd pair of hands for the alignment. The back chassis didn't have the bearing hole you see in your video. Thank you though I got it all working again! Saves on a brand new dryer!

Excellent video, just like to add that you can change the capacitor without taking the drum out by accessing it from the front right hand air duct, it is tricky though but you can do it without stripping down the whole machine. Please remember to unplug the machine and discharge the capacitor before getting your hands in as the capacitor can retain a charge

This video is absolutely awesome. It gave me the confidence to strip down my tumble dryer (Hoover VHC391T 9KG Load Condenser Tumble Dryer) so that I could replace the motor capacitor -- shame I had to disassemble the dryer into what seemed to be parts everywhere -- just to get access to the capacitor. The good thing about the strip down was I was able to clean my dryer of all the dust and fluff that had gotten into parts never seen. One question though -- I ordered a new 7.5uF capacitor but cannot remember which wires connect to which terminal. There are 2 wires, one a red wire, the other a blue wire. Does it matter which color goes on which terminal?

Fitted it and it works, new thermostat changed over. I’ve put it all back together and on first test there is a little burning smell. Is that common when cleaning all out etc, could it be the heater getting used to new thermostat or is it the capacitor??? Ideas thank you

I have a Candy condenser dryer that has been making a thumping sound when drying.
It's been making the sound from new and i thought it would eventually go away but it hasn't.
Two years later I've decided to see if I can repair it so I took the lid off.
What I saw was a dent in the front of the drum on the rim where it sits on the rollers.
This was obviously done while in transport or at the factory.
So this has totally put me off Candy, so beware if your brand new dryer makes a thumping sound while drying
You may have a serious problem.

Quick question... Should the tensioner wheels themselves spin freely when not under load like the drum wheels at the front do?

Thanks for this very useful video, if you ever need to dismantle your machine to replace a part or give it clean. One question, concerning testing the NCS sensors if you have an E14 error, can this be done where the sensor leads come into the control panel? thus avoiding the removal of the drum. If the sensors are tested ok when an E14 error is showing I assume it will be the control circuit that has the problem, so removing the drum would have been a lot of effort for nothing, particularly if the model is a heat pump one where the refrigerant pipes are very tight against the drum and could easily get damaged.

Thanks for a very helpful and informative video. Well presented and clearly explained and worth the time you took. I have a Hoover VHC680C that is squeaking badly when running. Do you think it's likely to be the drum bearing, motor or tension wheels? Is there anyway to diagnose where the squeak is coming from?

I replaced the pressure switch on my Hoover DMC D1013B-80 tumble dryer as the unit was stopping with the water reservoir full light on, while the reservoir was empty. Having done so, the tumble dryer now runs, but no water reaches the door reservoir. I'm assuming the drain pump must also have failed, but very useful as this video is, it doesn't show where the pump is located or how to change it. Can you help at all? Thanks

There is no pump in this machine, the water tank is fitted below the condenser, and is gravity fed, The only machines that require a pump, are those with their water tanks fitted at the top of the machine.

This is a long shot, especially after a year, but I'm having the same issue as Mark regarding the water not being distributed into the door water holder. Was there ever a solution found mate?
I've stripped it down completely using this video hoping that there was a blockage somewhere, but there's not.
This is a replacement model as the first suffered the same issue and Candy/Hoover replaced it, and now 8 months later this one has the same issue. Candy Grand Vita models, but still roughly the same design as the one shown here, so thank you for the video!

If my memory recalls correctly, the water container is in the bottom of the machine and access to the pump system is underneath the drum. This means that you've gotta take the drum out not 100% sure but I'm pretty confident
