This video is very quickly selling this amp to me, that bit of Norwegian wood in the middle was a nice surprise! Jay your guitar playing is insane! Teach me how! As soon as I can get a black cat on order I will be
Thanks for another great review,Jay-sounds like a fine amp!Your playing is stellar as always-this amp sounds like a keeper…..☮️❤️👊🏽 Oh ya-it was nice to meet you and your wee helper last week -hope you found some nice warm gloves for you both-all the best,eh☮️
@@JayLeonardJ question for you. I have a T-style with a very dark personality. It's swamp ash/maple/maple. Can you recommend a jmod bridge pup that pops, has some funk & doesn't mind being a little dirty sometimes while staying away from the ice-pick/make your eyes bleed thing ? Definitely want tele sounds, not bucker sounds. Thanks :-)
Jay, based on your in person experience, do you think a pair of alnico blues with this amp would be a suitable match, or maybe TOO much chime lol? Thanks!
Alnicos would be a great experiment! I really love the low end of this amp (probably due to all that iron), so I really like the response of that tighter ceramic they have in there though :)
I believe this amp is a revamp of their first amp, which was based on the Matchless DC30 (an evolution/clone of the AC30). IMO, a pair of Blues would certainly get you in the '63 AC30' territory, or an alternative could be to pair the V30 with a Greenback, which would lean more towards the DC30 - FWIW Hank Marvin uses the V30/Greenback combination with his Matchless - he's an old British guy who the AC30 was actually invented for. :)
3:55 the lick
3:35 That MJ took me back. That was cool.
Thanks!
Love how much it cleans up when you roll off the volume. So jazzy
Yeah, one of my favorite parts of playing with good tube amps is all the colors you can coax out of it just by twiddling with your guitar knobs.
Had to immediately learn human nature. Awesome as always, you rock
I not only love your review style. I also love to listen to your playing. Thanks
Thanks!
Love your energy dude! Rock on!
Rock on!

You're An Awesome Guitarist !!!
Killer grind.
Thanks!
Just came across your channel. Great reviews and amazing technique, love your playing. Love that Revstar!
Awesome, thank you!
I wish I had somewhere to turn up a tube amp, my pedals are fun but I miss raw tube grit and grind.
I agree. Loud tube driven guitar is always the best kind of guitar, haha
get you an attenuator. got me the weber minimass 50w to use with a marshall sv20--a 20w plexi!
Nice sounds .!. Also like that little guitar you started off with, pretty cool. Thx for the post 👍
Yeah, that Revstar has been a real pal over the years!

Yeah, just the perfect amount of chime and sparkle :)
This amp sounds amazing. I am not familiar with Blackcat, but it sounds expensive. 😅
This combo is about 2K brand new from what Google says.
Do you prefer this to the REVV D25
great playing, man.
Thanks :)
I like that guitar also Jay
Thanks :)

Which did you prefer, the Black Cat or the Hot Cat?
I gig with the Black Cat mainly but the Hot Cat is probably my fav :)
