THIS is an INSANE guide for the most annoying material to get by far. Im a returning player after 3 years break and just finished with all but colonias engis ...got 2billion of the hip22640 cg and fully grinded the vette out +all internal modules g5 engineered, but those were my last raw materials. This gives me a lifetime stockpile basically. THX
1. HIP 36601 C 1 a - Polonium (-28,6300, 129,3300) You may take a look around a bit. There is a higher "mountain" and in between a small diameter but deep crater. Recall of the ship resulted right beside the crater. Pay attention! So. Site- deep crater - lil' mountain.
Actually, this is slow and old school. The way to do it now is equip your ship with remote flack cannons, find the spires or whatever geological feature, back off to just where you can see them populate (500m). Blast them with remote flack, back up 100-200m so that the features depopulate, then release collector limpets. No need to leave the ship. I got 120 selenium in about 15 minutes on one planet, never left my ship.
this video was super helpful. i was on one of these moons just today trying to farm. thought I would be there all week trying to get what I was after. found this video went to the coordinates you had in the description and less then an hour later I had 2 of the raw materials full. literally saved me a crazy amount of time that even the discord group I'm in wasn't going to save me.
There's an even easier way to farm these minerals.. In a word: Collector Limpets and a Remote -Flechette- FLAK Launcher! No need to even touch the ground anymore!! Drop down to 500-200m, fire your -flechettes- (FLAK) at the trees, send in your limpets to scoop up the goodies, it's that simple. Only takes one or two shots and you've cleaned house in that area.
@@thatguynk8044 If those crystals are on a stalk, or in a tree, or sticking out/off of something, I can't see why it wouldn't work. Try it and let us know!
100%. I got 120 (I had 30 already) selenium in 10-15 min on one planet. It’s so easy, you end up mat trading down to fill up all the elements slots then go back to top off the rarest. Now you can make tons of ammo, life support recharges, FSD boosts, whatever. . The trick is to fire the flack, then back off 1-200meters so the features depopulate (but the mats are still there) so the limpets don’t crash. The best farming exploit ever.
I don't understand how detailed you're DSS view is of the planets. Mine is pixelated like crazy but yours is so much smoother and easier to see. I really don't understand how you have you're so clean looking.
36601 has four planet's in which one can gather 4 of the best grade 4's. However, it only works really really REALLY well in Horizon. Though they are still available in Odyssey, they are far and fewer to find.
There are 3 systems that have planets offering grade 5 raw mats. 2 systems that have 1 planet each, the 3rd system has 4 planets. Each planet gives one specific grade 5 raw mat. Scan/map the planets and then head for any of the BIOLOGICAL signal sources on the planets surface. Most are pretty easy to land even an Anaconda. Having plenty of room and relatively level. I recommend using an Asp-X or DB-X instead. As it's just easier using a smaller ship. You'll need an SRV bay of course. Sadly, you can't collect the mats from your ship. It is possible to get your SRV stuck. DO NOT SELF DESTRUCT your SRV. To get it unstuck, just log out to desktop. Then log back in via original ED (not Horizons). Original ED does not have planetary landings as an option so it will ask to verify and tell you it will place you in orbit. Accept. Then log out to desktop again. And log back in to Horizons. I do not know if they have this farming method working in Odyssey yet. Once you're backj into Horizons, your SRV will be right back in it's bay where it belongs on your ship and you can fly back to find a fresh landing spot and go back to farming.
