Smash-and-grab bandits overwhelm California jewelry

This happened at PNG Jewelers in Sunnyvale, CA on 6/12/24 just before 1:30pm. I don't understand why this is happening so much lately. Crime is getting really bad and these people don't seem to learn that more than likely they will be caught. What are your thought on this?
