Nice job putting the whole Skyline trail together. That consistent practice paid off. In regards to the dynamic riding, one of the best things I heard for making this idea resonate into my riding is keeping your torso just in front of the trail. What I mean by this is when the trail has a little raise in it, right before it, you come up slightly from neutral and when there is a dip or little decline, right before the dip, push your torso down. This has helped me move my body more when riding instead of being just high or low. Not sure how this translates to steeps or jumps but that is something I'm working on now. Thanks for the great episode as always!

Love that Mark. I might try experimenting with that technique. We appreciate your feedback and support as always. Sage

This sounds like a great technique for being more 'dynamic' on the bike. Instead of just saying, 'be dynamic!' I will definitely experiment with this approach! Thanks for the tip!! - Dan
PS I think I heard this called "Torso Tracking." I had just started playing with the technique on the pumptrack and it worked well!!

I think that modern bike geometry allows a more natural riding position when descending, as opposed to the old, more upright geo. Allows us to feel safer on the steeps, when moving the body forward. That's been my experience, anyway.

Excellent point Stan!!! I didn't think about it, but that old geo forced us to be more dynamic with our moments. With the newer bikes they are so much more capable and allow for safer riding and more confidence when moving around on the bike. Thanks for the feedback and comment. Sage

Very true! Modern geo feels like you're sitting 'in' the bike. Much safer than on TOP of the bike. Still feels weird every time I get on my old single speed for this reason! - Dan

It’s so funny how much progression we’ve been able to gain from Skyline at Mt Penn.

My thought why people get so far back on steeps- It's further away from the danger of going OTB, they get as far back as they can from the bars as a precaution, obviously, not good 😅. If there's a risky thing that I've gotten down to a science, I'll happily do them on my solo rides cause they just feel so good, but yeah if it's still pretty new to me, there's no reason to risk it solo. LOL some lighthearted crashes recently, love to see everyone's okay but Dan's slow-mo OTB has to be the funniest!

OMG I was holding back my laughter so hard on that one. The best part was the bike ending up on top of him at the end. Glad we all got away with just a few bruises and scratches. All a part of the game right?!?! Thanks for commenting as always! Sage

I'm continuing to practice getting forward on steep slabs. I thought I was good at slabs but there's lots of room for improvement, which is cool! And yes... that slo-mo fall was so annoying!!! But it's hilarious video. Right on brand! LOL! - Dan
