You guys got the name of your podcast wrong. It should be Laugh & Ride! I enjoy your content keep it up!
Lol, thanks Barrett. We are glad you are enjoying it. Sage
Yooooo that shout out!!!! Love ya guys!
Miss you Chris! Thanks for the love and support. Sage
I ride mine year round. 2015 Specialized Carbon Comp Fatboy. Carbon Renthal bar, 28lbs with Jumbo Jims on alloy rims. Better Bolts hardware. Rev Grips Stem and Grips. 9-46 11 SPD Ethirteen cassette with Box Shifter and Derailleur. Oxbow Headlight.
That sounds like a killer setup!!! Thank you for watching and commenting. Sage
just put on the Dillinger studded tires.....time for snow!
Sessioning climbs sounds like what a judge would make me do if I didn’t have enough money to play my speeding ticket lol
lol!!! It's an acquired taste for sure. But you never know Dennis, we are not the riders we think we are ;) Thanks for the support and feedback as always. Sage
Better than making you butler! (Seinfeld reference :) Hilarious comment though! But there is a joy in going UP technical trails that I actually think you'd enjoy! Anything is possible! Appreciate the comment as always! - Dan
I always love the park jump content. I dont do much of that riding but am starting to do more
Love to hear that Erin. Progression is the name of the game. Let's get it! Sage
Thanks Erin!! Jumping is KINDA addictive! LOL! Appreciate you as always! - Dan
Check out Dakotah Norton from any of his UCI DH World Cup runs this year. Those are some high bars
Yes!!! Great call Mark! Sage
Oh yeah! And I saw his DJ on Instagram.... very high handlebars there too! #BrianKnows (Or maybe, "What Would Brian Do?") LOL! Thanks Mark!! - Dan
Awesome seeing some of those trails out west, they look pretty gnarly. Technical climbs are still my weakest skill, along with slow tech crawls. Going slow is harder than going fast!
I don't know Zane, I've been on a few rides with you and you are pretty awesome on the tech. Sage
You're a natural and intuitive rider! I'm sure you'd be awesome at the slow tech if you focus on it. But do whatever is most fun! (and if you visit the SW and want to session some climbs, that'd be dope!) - Dan
@TheRideAbides yeah definitely gotta focus more on them. Recently it's been all air time, all the time😂
Also i have 3 1/2 inch risers on my dj.. and I love those bars on the smaller bike
Thank you for the insight Steve! Sage
I trust you and Brian! Just installed 89mm rise handlebars on the DJ! - Dan
I've taken my dj to mountain creek. Rode all dominion, salvation, hit all the wood features.. down crap Chute. I sessioned lower dominion. It was a blast. Even after that I struggle with my local bmx dirt jumps... also the smaller bike parks I always find the bigger jumps to be easier. When the lips is smaller then the bikes wheel base, they become more technical to jump
Ok, so I'm not crazy for wanting to bring my DJ to Skyline, lol. I just got some aggressive 26 in tires to help with grip so I'm hoping to try that soon. Thank you for the feedback Steve. Sage
That's so cool Steve!! Legit jump trails at Creek!! Was it more fun on the DJ or the MTB? Was it harder on the DJ? Appreciate you listening and commenting as always! - Dan
Hey Dan! If you're open to unsolicited advice, my suggestion would be to stick with the small line where you have to be more precise before you move up to the intermediate line. Learn those skills on the small stuff before moving up. Here's why - in the video, you are clearing those jumps with speed and speed alone. You're actually extending early and then with that body extension, absorbing the jumps. That's a potential recipe to get bucked. Slow down, and clear those little tables with technique rather than speed. Find your arc and those short landings won't be an issue. Your ramp will be tremendous for progression. All the best.
Thanks, Josh!! Awesome feedback and advice!! I'm going to keep working on this. Per your jumping videos, "Be a small jump hero." Appreciate you! - Dan
Awesome feedback and insights as usual! I think I need to work on a few of those things myself. Thank you so much for all the support and comments over the past year. Sage
I don't have a gopro so i couldn't film my local trails but a search of Pitmedden Fife gave me this! one off my local trails. At 60 I spin a 32 x 21, when mid summer hits and I have a bunch of miles in I will go down to a 19th cog on a 29x3" tire. Thanks for making single speed podcasts
Love that setup Jim! Thank you for watching and commenting. Sage
my comment on over shoes was an attempt on humor. I do think they make a low cost big difference. I don't know how many sets i have gone through. I live in a area where the highest hill is about 600 feet (from sea levels 1300 feet) so a big part of my challenge is to do my whole run without putting my feet down. I do understand where you are coming from when it comes to them getting destroyed.
Lol right on John. I gave up on them a long time ago myself. These days a good pair of wool socks and winter shoes does the job for me. Hope you had an amazing weekend of riding. Sage
Sounds like nothing a good pair of wellies can't fix! :-) BTW, my wife watched the episode and commented, "Oh, I love wellies!" - Dan
I do have to take off my bottle cage but i only have to do it twice a year (putting it on then taking it off) I have made 3 holes in it, two are for the bottle cage and one is for the cable coming from my light down to the battery in the bottle cage. I will try to send a photo. ps Over shoes only get worn out if you can't mountain bike and have to keep putting your feet down 🤔
Oh sweet. I can't wait to see it. As for the over shoes, we do a lot of sessioning of big rocky features, which means a lot of getting off and walking, needless to say they get torn up pretty quick, lol. Sage
I love your passion and commitment to mtbing!! Rigging your bike for winter riding with lights... so cool! You're unlimited!! - Dan
I'm not that keen on cushcore but that doesn't mean i am against the idea. I have one wheel set up with cushcore and i haven't had any problems with it, but i have worked on other bikes that kept loosing air and i believe it was the cushcore rubbing against the side wall causing it to become porous. At the time i didn't know that you had to get the correct size for the rim and the guy i was fixing the bike for had bought the wrong size. His tire would go from running true on one ride then look as if the tire wasn't on the bead the next ride. to be fair on the guy cushcore don't make it that easy to work out what size you need. What I prefer to do is run a tire and tube inside my tire. I found that a 700x35 works realy well with a continental 29x2 roadish tire. The inner tire i run at 40psi and the outer tire I run between 11 and 15psi. There is almost no tread on the tire but it is amazing how well it works in mud, tree roots and rocks. I use two methods to put air into the tires, one is I drill a second hole for a valve so i can go tubeless and tubed. The second way is to use the valve hole for the tube and i use a needle from a syringe and stick it through the tire and then rely on the sealant to do its job. I'm sure you would think 11psi on an ebike with 29x2 tires would be a little low but when you have a 700x35 tire at 40psi on the inside it acts like a volume spacer and it supports the tire on high g corners and heavy hits. There is a weight penalty but i think it is worth it. This is the same bike I turn the power off and run as a heavy analogue.
OMG there is so much to unpack here John. Interesting insights too! Please send us pics or videos of this tube/tire setup if you get a chance (rideandlaugh1@gmail.com). I'm dying to know how this looks and works. Sage
John, you are a mountain bike wizard!! This sounds like a really cool setup but for us 'muggles' we're probably better off paying for an insert than figuring out the double tube method! LOL! Regardless, it sounds like you're getting all the benefits you want. Very cool!!! - Dan
I really don’t think the bike matters as much as we would like to think. Meaning, if you watch Ryan jump, he really applies the “just stand up” pop off the lip. Whereas most others are just surviving the lip of the jump. You put Ryan on any bike he’ll jump just the same. It’s technique most of all.
Excellent point Fred! I think what I was trying to say was, not having the rear shock to rely on helped me to work on the boost. I'm hoping to continue to improve on that technique with the DJ and take that over to the MTB. Thanks for the comment and feedback. Sage
Spot on Fred! If we can learn that 'proper' DJ jumping technique... that will unlock more comfort, steeze and confidence on mtb's!! Easier said than done! Thanks for listening and commenting!! - Dan
I was hooked on Cushcore pro’s after i had JBs Bike Shop over in Shillington put a set in my new Orbea Wild Mteam. Next thing I know I am having JB’s putting a set in my Megatower. I couldnt feel the weight. I cant hear them in the tire like others claims. I now enjoy running much lower TP at places like the bird and mt. Penn. I have noticed much less hand and wrist fatigue on longer rides. From a risk management standpoint they just make sense in Pennsyrocktuckey. That Industry Nine I9 Grade 300 wheelset with Hydra hubs BF deal is calling my name and I’d still put cushcores in those with DD maxxis maxx terras for all the reasons above. Now that would be bomb proof. Nice job fellas! Keep it Steezy 👍👍🇺🇸🤘😎🤘🇺🇸
Now that sounds like a proper setup. Shout out to JBs too! I ride Mt Penn often, hopefully we will see each other on the trails someday. Thanks for the feedback and insights. Sage
Starting cushcore on an e-bike makes a TON of sense and is what I'm leaning towards as well. Very interesting that you're sold on the tire inserts for your analog bikes as well. Did you get the upgraded wheels? Sounds like a killer upgrade!! - Dan
I use Tannus with tubes on my trail bike. Pretty heavy, but I just don't care because it's absolutely maintenance free, and I really like the vibration damping ride characteristics. I may go back to tubeless again one of these days, for a little weight saving, but I'll be keeping the liners. They protect the rims, prevent pinch flats, reduce vibration and repel thorns. I haven't had a flat in four years. In goathead country, with tubes. I can also run sub 20 pressures, if I want, even in the rocks. Love 'em.
Interesting Stan, I might have to look into the Tannus if the Cushcore doesn't work out. Thank you so much for the feedback and insights. Sage
That's a great endorsement for Tannus! I have a Tannus insert in the rear tire on my aggressive hardtail. It's very lightweight though I haven't noticed any benefit other than rim protection (which is very significant! I tend to huck that hardtail way too much! LOL!) - Dan
I’ve recently worked out a deal for a full suspension bike. A Rocky Mountain slayer, which is a free ride bike. I’ve only ever ridden a bmx bike and a dj. I’m excited to take the journey in the opposite direction. I’m excited to see how my DJ experience will transfer to a full sus. I’m going to build it going forward as a bike park/big jump shred piece. Convert to single speed (soon). So sage, you might need to give me a few tips now.
Yo!!!!! That's awesome Ryan! Congrats on the new whip. Let's take it up to Mt Penn and run some sessions on Skyline. I can't wait to see what you can do on that thing. Sage
YES!!! This is so cool!! Can't wait to hear about your shred adventures on a MTB!! More fun on bikes!! - Dan
You guys have convinced me to get a dj. I feel that from learning to mtb on an ebike I skipped a lot of the basic skills needed to be a well rounded mtb rider. Not only will a dj help teach me how to jump properly. It will also be a good tool to bring to a pump track to learn proper pumping/ berm technique.
Love that Rob!!! If you want to borrow mine to see what it feels like before you pull the trigger LMK. Sage
@@RideLaughPodcastthanks sage. Wife gave OK so I had to move fast. Dirtlove ST arrives in mid January at a great deal. Whole family wants to hit the philly pump track next spring
@@robertc2918 Yes!!!! I love that!
Stoked to hear about your DJ progression and adventures!! Really curious what skills you'll learn on the DJ. And def the right tool for pumptracks! E-bikes and DJ's... what an interesting path!! Love it! - Dan
This conversation has me leaning towards a DJ over an ebike as well. While I would enjoy using the ebike to practice downhilling as an Enduro style rider the DJ would be used more. My kids are just starting to ride pavement style areas and it would be easier to ride a DJ with them there. I frequent PHXBP in the summer months and I also have a small backyard trail system which I ride most mornings. I would love to have Sean from Sticks and Stones help me put a jump or two in there to get even more practice. Dan, I'd like to hear more about your experience with Sean and having a professionally built track in your yard.
I love that Mark, it makes total sense. In the meantime, I created a video on Dan's pump track that might answer some of your questions. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/fIanVFip_sY/видео.html Sage
Riding a DJ is so interesting... it's tough but may unlock some really cool skills! I can't recommend Sean at Sticks & Stones enough. Sean is a wizard with dirt and a great dude. You can have him over for a quote. Backyard pumptrack plus DJ may be around the same price as a high-end e-bike!! And I'd go backyard pumptrack every time... especially if the kids can enjoy it too! Let me know if you want Sean's phone number. I can text him an introduction if that helps too. - Dan
30:49 That's fantastic! Hahaha!
lol Thx Jeff! Sage
Inspired by your jumping journey, Sage! Nice!

@@TheRideAbides Ha!
Great story about your daughter! Sounds like the situation was handled perfectly!
Right?! I was thinking the same thing Jeff. Sage
Thanks Jeff! Trusting intuition! - Dan
The original purpose of Cushcore is to allow lower tire pressures and increased traction without the "squirmy" feel of low psi. The insert's design supports the tire mid sidewall. Cushcore is not really that heavy and should be used front and rear. The insert acts as a volume spacer for your tire the same way volume spacers work in suspension. As the load increases, the tire becomes more "progressive". The secondary benefit is rim protection.
"Volume spacer for your tire" Love how you put that Jeff. I have not noticed much difference in ride quality on the SS, but I can def feel the weight. But then again that is a super light bike so every once counts, lol. I'm still experimenting with the fat bike insert so I'll let you know if I notice anything there. Thanks for the feedback and comment. Sage
@@RideLaughPodcast Sounds good, Sage! I would recommend experimenting with lower PSI. I typically run 22 front, 26 rear in AZ with all the gnarly rocks here. Surprisingly, I've never had a flat out on the trail (knock on wellies 😜). You might not notice much other than protection on your fat bike.
@@jeffjacksonmtb Thanks jeff! On my SS I'm running 20 in the rear with the Cushcore, and 22 on the front. I'm still experimenting on the fat bike, but on my last ride at Mt Penn I was able to run 10 in the rear (hoping to get down to 8). Sage
@@jeffjacksonmtb I'm very curious about Cushcore and may need to experiment! I run 25-26 in the back and 22 front... which seems to work well for Arizona. Maybe 27 psi at South Mtn. Wonder what psi I would run with Cushcore... but could be an interesting upgrade and definitely a fun experiment! Appreciate your comments and support as always Jeff!! - Dan
my favorite name for a tire insert" Huck Norris". Funny you should mention the bell. I had one on my bike back in the day and no one did it because it wasnt cool. now it is cool. Bells work great on the trail with other people on the trail because bikes are very quite and they dont hear you coming up behind them
OMG I love that name too... so funny. As for the bell, we agree completely. Thanks for commenting as always Erin! Sage
I always loved the "Huck Norris" name too!! And I was a huge Chuck Norris fan as a kid! :) Glad you appreciate the bell. I've always gotten such pleasant responses vs. yelling! Thanks as always Erin! - Dan
Buzzing your arse on the tire is a clear indication of losing good form. I forgot where I heard it from, but when you get that far back on the bike, it’s because your body is naturally reacting to the fear of whatever you’re doing. Your body has a natural instinctive to get itself away from danger. As far as Cush core, I added it to my enduro bike and it’s made a load of difference. As you both know, I ride Creek almost once a week and tech trails heavily. I destroyed a pair of e-thirteen rims and had no confidence in corners because of the higher PSI I was forced to run. Now I’ve dropped the psi down for more confidence without worrying bout going through a pair of rims once a season. Don’t feel too much difference pedaling it to be honest, but it’s not my primary pedal bike anymore. Thanks for keeping me company on the way to work, with the best pod in the game!
Yeah, I totally agree. After reviewing the footage of Danny on that feature he was def too far back... good call. Also, I feel the same way about the Cushcore, I feel so much more confident knowing my rims are gonna explode, lol. Thanks for the love Dennis. Sage
I'm sure you're right about the butt buzz = bad form! It's something I continue to work on. Appreciate the feedback! And I'm getting pretty tempted to try cushcore... not ready to pull the trigger yet but anything that can add confidence; probably worth it! Thanks for the feedback Dennis! - Dan
awesome Pod guys! I'm not into jumping but you energy and positivity makes all the topics interesting and educational. Speaking about ebiking during winter, in my case (I'm a car free guy) is super important how to choose the winter clothes etc cuz I have to commute to the park, get a nonstop ride and come back home. 1 winter done and not issues with the battery performance (east coast philly rider), good base layer, windbreaker. Warmers, goggles, snow gloves, heated socks & balaclava (for the coldest harder days) All the tips that you gave in the pods works perfect and also I carry backpack because sometimes I have to put some stuff in there. Great advice at the end of this pod, thanks Sage and Dan! cheers and happy trails
That's awesome Pepe! We appreciate the support even when the topics we cover may not be relevant to what your interests are. Also great feedback on the eMTB and winter gear! I hope we get to hook up on the trails someday. Sage
Thanks Pepe!! We're hoping that people enjoy each show just b/c we're talking bikes and having fun! Living the car-free lifestyle sounds cool! Less gas and more money for bikes!! :) Really appreciate you listening and commenting! - Dan
I really do think learning jump technique and J-hop technique comes from hardtails/dirtjumpers. Full squish MTBs make it very easy to create kind of a "fake pop" from the rear suspension versus rowing the bike off the lip to get some more height. I learned how to pop from my hardtail days and as soon as I got on a full squish the pop only got bigger! I can't say I've buzzed my butt anymore since having a 27.5" rear wheel but I've definitely lost some cheek tissue by getting sucked into a fast step up🤣
You had me at "Cheek Tissue" lol. Good stuff on the jumping Zane. I'm doing this backwards and wished that I had started jumping on a hardtail because bad habits are hard to break. Sage
Not surprised to hear that you learned jumping on a hardtail b/c you like very natural and comfortable in the air! Mtn biking gives us so many challenges to work on, unlock and overcome! What a great sport!! - Dan
Great pod guys! I'm 5'9" riding a full 29er and my booty only buzzes when I've clearly done something wrong and I'm lucky that my rump is all that took impact. Have I used my cheeks to brake like calipers? On rare occasions yes, but only when I've abandoned the handlebars. Happy Thanksgiving.
Using your cheeks like brake calipers, LOL! I love it. Good stuff Josh. Thank you for the hilarious and insightful feedback. Sage
Thanks Josh!! Appreciate you watching and commenting! I'm def too far back when the butt gets buzzed. I'm actively working on it. The only think worse than caliper brakes is caliper butt cheek brakes. LOL!! - Dan
The story about your daughter's crash really hit home, when my wife crashes or stalls(or both), I leave it completely up to here about what is next on the ride while gently encouraging her to try it again. Sometimes she will, sometimes she won't, but she definitely realizes ending your day on a mistake ruins your mental state until you get back out there and have a clean ride.
Right on Pat. I imagine there an another element when it's your spouse too. You both know each other well, so knowing when to coach and when to step back is probably key. Thanks for the comment. Sage
Always appreciate your comments Pat! It's such a fine line sometimes... encouraging someone to keep riding and having fun but respecting their intuition too! Mrs. Chain is lucky to have you! :) - Dan
I get asked all the time " should I get a dj". I always say a dirt jumper is everything a bmx bike is but it's a better bike for an adult. Get 1 and never look back
Bam! I completely agree Steve. Thanks for the feedback brotha. Sage
Bent Spokes Wisdom! Always good stuff!! Steve knows!! - Dan
I just got an E and plan on keeping the analog cuz I do like the “Fitness” part even though I’ve never been fit. But I’m an old man and I just wanna get out and have fun. More fun less suck I like to say. In another note, love, LOVE these pods!! You two are the best!!! You kids crack me up!
Congrats on the new eMTB Johnny, you are worthy!!! If anyone knows how to have fun on, and off the bike, it's you brotha. Glad you are enjoying the pod, we are having a blast making them. So now that you have an eMTB can we expect to see you in PA for some shreddy goodness? Sage
The deluge of e-evil ped propaganda and manufactures influencing $.$$ funds is corrupting otherwise believable influencers.
I'm not sure I follow Ellery. Did we say something that rubbed you the wrong way? Sage
I recently bought a Trek Farley 9.6 & put a Bluto fork on it just to take the edge off, I’m lucky enough to have four high-end mountain bikes, I have to admit the fat bike is the most “fun”out of all of them, I ride my fat bike and plus bike exclusively for the next four or five months
Heck ya Jim. The fat bike is so much fun! We have to hook up for a ride at Smed soon, on the fat bikes of course ;) Sage
Thanks for the compliments and shout out Dan! Riding with you guys was fun, you and Antoine were both super nice. Also never seen a follow cam of myself before so that was awesome to watch. We should ride again some time for sure! Liked seeing this podcast not being able to ride for the next 2 weeks. Keeps me sane to think about bikes. -Sean
Right on Sean! I'm glad you enjoyed the pod. Sage
You're an awesome rider!! Those climbs are NO JOKE!! So impressive. We should def ride again soon. Let me know when you're available and we'll make it happen! - Dan
Loved the "everything happens for me, not to me" that's some seriously insightful stuff. Depends on the kind of jumps for the kind of bike I'd prefer to be honest! Downhill and enduro bikes rip park jumps so well but I'll take a modern trail bike for pretty much anything else!
I forgot about the DH bike, add that to my list, lol. You would absolutely rip on a DJ Zane. Would your shop let you borrow one? Sage
@RideLaughPodcast more than likely yeah, i could probably get on a specialized P2 as that would be their main carried one!
Bike park jumps feel so different to some of the DJ and BMX jumps out there. I'm really curious how the DJ jump skills may translate to the bike park next spring! Your area has some good DJ/BMX jumps spots, right? Are you close to Germantown bike park? Would be VERY curious to hear what you think of jumping a DJ! Could be a good Sploosh vid too!? - Dan
@TheRideAbides I'm fairly close to that one but even closer to Rockburn which has even better dirt jumps! I should get that going😂
Thanks for the shout out Dan! Had a blast on our ride and look forward to riding with you again soon!
Right on AJ, thank for checking out the pod. Sage
When Dan says he’s unlimited, I always just assumed it was about how handsome he was. Thanks for the love guys.
There is no limit to how handsome we can all be, lol. Thanks for the love Dennis. Sage
I like Dennis more and more! Smart dude!! LOL! Your content is getting better & better Dennis!! Unlimited progression, stoke, joy, passion and success!! (and handsomeness) - Dan
@ appreciate you buddy
@@RideLaughPodcast I need this as a shirt @trailsage
@@DennyJannettyMTB lol! Yes!!
Love this podcast❤ cool set up intro at the start! I’m a new subscriber 🎉Thanks for crashing for me 😂. I like dirt jumpers, but for pump tracks only and even race masters level (slowly)
Right on Marty! Thanks for the support and love. So what Dirt Jumper are you currently riding? Sage
Thank you for watching, commenting and sending us your positive vibes!! And you're welcome for us crashing so you don't need to! LOL!! I was dirt jumper on pump track only for a long time... now I'm trying to get that little bike in the air. Scary but that's progression for you!! - Dan
Love the dynamic torso idea Pump track racing is pushing up and down fast 💨. I can’t do it well but my kids can 😂
Right on Marty. Kids seem to adapt so much faster, and their ability to quickly learn a skill and apply it is something I wish I still had. But we got this brotha! Just takes a little more time and practice right?!?! Sage
Hey, that's my friend Rob. Way to go. Next stop Mt. Creek! Keep up the good work coaching Sage!
Thanks Fred!!! Mt Creek with you boys sounds like a good time. Let's do it! Sage
I can't wait to see everyone shredding bike parks next spring after all this jump progression!! Thanks for watching & commenting Fred!! - Dan
I really appreciate all of the help you gave me that day Sage! I have watched countless jump videos telling me how to jump, but it just never clicked. I guess sometimes it just takes a friend at the park to break it down and force you into make the needed adjustments. Jumping feels so much more natural now. Must keep practicing!!
It was so awesome to see you confidently hitting those jumps with that beautiful arch Rob. Glad I was able to help. Now we need to take that to Mt Penn and get you over #3. It's happening!!! Sage
Progression is SO much fun! And jumping is SO much fun! A very addictive duo!! LOL! So stoked Sage was able to help you unlock your jumping skills. You totally got this Rob!! - Dan
Sage, you mentioned that you were favoring a dirt jumper over an Ebike for your next bike. I am also in the market for either a dirt jumper or an Ebike. I am torn as to which one to pick. I see the obvious pros and cons to each. What are your main reasons for leaning dirt jumper over an ebike?
Hey Mark. The biggest reason is, I think the DJ will take my confidence in the air (and technique) to the next level. I still want an ebike, but given the cost difference, I think I can get more from the DJ at this point. Plus I'm pretty fit so sessioning on an analog is not terrible. Sage
@@RideLaughPodcast Good points. I do want to get better at downhilling so an Ebike might be better for me but I think I would put more hours on a dj. Lots to weigh here. I guess I just have to buy both
@@povtrails1219 N+2! LOL! We discuss this a lot in the next pod... b/c I was surprised when Sage started saying he'd want a DJ before an e-bike. They both can really level you up. It's a good conversation! Let us know which you get 1st & how it goes!! - Dan
I always appreciate you using clips of me when you talk about jumping techniques. Sage I know you and I have spent time turning laps at the bike park I have seen you progress to take on things you didn't think you could do. Especially when we both were gapping the wooden drop into the first jump. I'm always down to help anyone, and there is great community overall at PXV bike park. Looked like you guys had a big turn out this passed weekend, sad I missed the session!
Ryan you have been a tremendous help and inspiration to me. Thank you for taking an old head like me under your wing. I just acquired a used DJ from a buddy so I will be looking to you for some more advice next time. Sage
@RideLaughPodcast let’s get after it! I’ll be in the park this weekend, we’ll turn your boost up!
Gapping the drop into the 1st jump!!?! I haven't heard about this yet!! So cool!! Ryan, you're jumps skills are only matched by your positive vibes!! Mtb'ers are awesome!! Miss you boys at PHXBP but I'll be back soon enough. I'll work on my DJ skills in the meantime! - Dan
Hi guys 🤗tip for Dan: play games with your girls to build bike skills. Follow the leader, bike soccer, bike limbo, circle of death (I’m sure someone has a better name for that one) and don’t let them know it’s a skills session. NICA and Little Bella’s are great at this but you can do it yourself - gimme a call for details. Kids are sponges but they don’t usually want skills sessions so you have to sneak em in 🤫
Fantastic advice as usual Shelly. Now we just need to fly you out to Arizona ;) Sage
@@RideLaughPodcast yes let’s gooooo!
Fantastic tips Shelly! I'll have to do some research. We just bought a portable mtb jump to practice on in the neighborhood! I'm excited to see what happens!! - Dan
@@shellygeorgopulos675 You're welcome anytime!! Lots of cool stuff to show off around here!
the jump tips were great. thanks for the awesome podcast
Right on Erin! We appreciate the feedback brotha! Sage
Thanks Erin!! Appreciate you brother! - Dan
For the dirt jumpers, Ari is releasing two models soon! One is a traditional dirt jumper with 26" wheels and the other is a pump track bike with 27.5" wheels. The 27.5" is single speed, but can also be setup with a cassette.
Oh a 27.5 DJ sounds very interesting. If you get your hands on one please let me know how it rides. Sage
Oh that's really interesting. Specialized has a 27.5" DJ as well. I feel like the 26" wheels are better for lippy jumps... but maybe the 27.5" would feel more and more like a MTB, which could be helpful. Def curious about that! And gears would be nice in some places... the pedal to the top of Desert Trails Bike Park is a decent little climb... gears would save the legs! - Dan
Great episode! We all had a blast riding with you, Dan! The Hawes Enduro race was amazing and we are all still riding a high from how fun it was to prepare and race in it. Thanks for sharing!
Oh man I can't wait to see and hear all about it Jeff!!! Sage
Thanks again for the invite Jeff! Let's do it again sometime! So glad the race was fun!! Looking forward to hearing about it! - Dan
I like Rampage and seeing what others can do on a bike but I agree with Sage, it’s unreliable. But so fun to watch. I was so happy to see the women kill it!!
Hell ya Johnnie! I know you recently interviewed MTB academy and he said he knew Chelsea. That would be a cool interview if you could make that happen. Hope you are well brotha! Sage
