- Guernsey Liberation Day, celebrated on May 9th each year, marks the island's liberation from German occupation during World War II in 1945.
I didn't plan on making this a video and was intended to be a photoshoot so it's not a masterpiece of videography, but hope you enjoy anyway.
I brought my German helmets out to get some footage.
Buen video amigo 👌
Interesting video all the best 😊
Very interesting, thanks for sharing 👍👍
80 years ago this was a busy area.
Fascinating stuff, thanks for taking the time to walk us through it
I was very nervous watching this video, you are a braver man than me leaving your german helmets out of your sight!!....mine never leave my attic room😊. Cool wristwatch by the way......nice selection of german bunkers, saw similar stuff on jersey. As an aside, im a keen free diver/snorkeller/spear fishing person...learnt to do it when i lived in Australia. Ive carried on here in the uk, snorkelled in Wales , Scotland, and even north east England where i live....always with a wetsuit on i might add....i didn't do any when i was in jersey in 2005, but i have to say the water around Guernsey looks ideal for this activity, cheers m8 , great video😊😊😊😊😊
Haha, Guernsey is probably in the top safest places in the world to live.. you could literally leave your keys in a Ferrari here.
I have an Omega, two U-boats and this one, A Graham Overlord Chronofighter. The dial is inspired by D-Day and has France/England and RAF symbols - pretty cool!
Done some snorkelling a few years ago, waters are lovely in the summer!
@@LiamCWW2 thanks great stuff, cheers 🙂🙃🙂
Is this the island from the 1990 series : "The night of the Fox" with George Peppard?!
Not seen it, it’s located between France and the U.K. the only British territory tbst Germany conquered
