In 1962 was my first visit to Horizon City! population 0. It was on a Sunday midday, my uncle took our two families out for a drive. The weather was cold, cloudy and windy, so I ask my cousin, where is Horizon City? All I see is desert, sand hills and sage brush? My cousin replied, were here! Good video Mr. John Pena. Horizon Corporation mapped out the entire Horizon City on the entire desert landscape! You can see it on Google Earth. At close up range. Back then, according to Horizon City Corp. Horizon City was suppose to be bigger than the city of El Paso. In the late sixties and seventies, Horizon city had a population of about 450 people, and the city had or still has a nice golf course. And what's missing today is that Horizon City had a big lake????? next to the golf course. Horizon City looks really good! They are growing and soon will become El Paso County's second largest city ahead of the city of Socorro.
Many new homes have gone up very quickly in the area off of Darrington just past Ricardo Estrada Middle school. There were empty lots less than a year ago. It's like overnight homes have popped up.
One more thing! at the start of your video the drone camera pictured Ciudad Juarez's downtown and behind the Juarez bullring! They are building Torre Centinela! A BEAUTY! A twenty story tower "SPY TOWER" that fight's crime among other things.
Why is the El Paso housing market doing so poorly? I’m in Tierra Este area, home appraisals went up, but my Zestimate just dropped $4600 in May! (yes, I realize the two are not totally related and I take Z with a grain of salt). The real estate season should be picking up for summer but instead it seems to be in a slump. Besides the “interest rates” what is going on?!
@@LivingInElPasoTexas Just wondering, what are some good ROI upgrades, (SPECIFIC TO EL PASO)to help raise value without breaking the bank. I always hear about kitchen & bath, but those are expensive. Looking for cheaper/easier ideas. Thanks!
If those ghost lots were such an issue why does the city keep selling acres and acres worth all over Zillow and the Internet with legit realtors?@@LivingInElPasoTexas
I've been following you guys since 2020, when I used to live in Santa Cruz, CA. Crazy to think in August it will be three years living in El Paso now.
I’m up in Santa Rosa California. Looking to buy a place in El Paso

What construction companies are doing the building??
Alex, I'd love to see a video about how to get safely to and from the Juarez airport.
John made a video about this a year or two ago.

Interest rates are having a big affect on buyers, so many sitting on the sidelines now.

Remember zestimate isn’t a real thing. It’s bs. The high rates and delusional sellers overpricing their homes are affecting the market.
Yall are missing the most important thing. Its impossible to get in and out of the city.
This!! I live in the far east and it’s a nightmare getting in and out of my neighborhood
Why for?@@bigd2256
