As I have had family pass away, friends that dies, neighbors commit suicide, children in our family go into the foster care system, lost romantic partners, and two of my own babies died. It hits so hard now. One of my ex's when I was in junior high school, his sister died in a house fire. She looked just like Amy Lee, the singer. They played this song at her funeral and it was his sister's favorite band. It was the perfect song.

This is one of their more mellow songs. They're usually more metal. Evanescence is the name of the band, and Amy Lee is the primary member and only original member left. She formed the band in the '90s when she was just a teenager. I would encourage you to check out a heavier song like "Call Me When You're Sober" or "Sweet Sacrifice." They know how to rock as well.
My Mom passed away, and this song hits me every time when she gets to the part: So much that time cannot erase, when you cried I'd wipe away all your tears/ Because she was so sick. I cannot listen to this without crying
I was able to see her at Edge-Fest in Dallas about 7 years ago. About 20 feet from her. Beautiful voice, but she totally rocks out too! She's not like the divas, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Mylie Cyress, or Jaylo. She doesn't have to change costumes every song or have a dance troop to support her. She wears the same outfit throughout the concert and rocks out with her band. Evanescence is a rock band. I'm glad you reacted to this, but please take the other commenters suggestions. They played this song at her funeral and it was his sister's favorite band. It was the perfect song.
her voice is hauntingly beautiful. one of a kind
Amy has an astounding voice iv loved evanescence for years ! I remember seeing a documentary about her and they said she has a voice range that not many people can achieve the way she does , check out the vehicle safety video to this song if this didn’t break you it will !
Such a simple song but the haunting way she sings the lyrics hits your soul like a hammer, a big damn hammer!
Amy Lee is a rock legend ... welcome to the world of amazing music!
This song truly is a masterpiece, she's one ofa kind....I don't know if we'll ever see another amy lee in our lifetime
My Mom passed away, and this song hits me every time when she gets to the part: So much that time cannot erase, when you cried I'd wipe away all your tears/ Because she was so sick. I cannot listen to this without crying
She's a trained opera singer which is why her voice so freaking rich and smooth and beautiful
Evanescence sings,"Call me when you're sober". Incredible song
Besides this one, Bring Me to Life, Lithium, and Going Under are my favorites.
You're doing great dude!
“It’s written like a poem”. What a great description!
Your mate needs to come sing for us. He sounds angelic.
