- 1:56 - The guys are clearly having a blast here and so am I, as they create a playful arrangement of pop favorites, and set them to their own Country twang.

Funny Original song “Champagne Tastes on a Beer Budget” or cover “All About that Bass”. Or more serious original “Dive Bar Saints” or cover “Blue Ain’t Your Color”. Wonderful collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys in their famous song “Elvira”, too. Take your pick
All of those are on my list except a couple which I fully plan on doing on my own in the near future. Elvira I feel is going to be topping the list soon.
The rooster is in many of their early videos. It's on the bar in "All About That Bass".
Before I discovered Home Free, I loved all of this music with the instruments. Now, when I hear one on the car radio, they just don't do it for me because I miss the 'vocal' instrumentals of Adam and the other vocal combinations with him. Crazy good!! The chicken was a Chris thing, it went with him. We always had fun trying to figure out where that thing would be hiding in a video!! Thanks for the reactions! You are an official Home Fry, welcome to the rabbit hole! How Great Thou Art is absolutely beautiful.
That happens a lot, I find. Some songs when done just right, a cappella, can sound more complex, and impressive than the originals that you know. And nothing wrong that. Gotta give credit when it is due.
A few more good time songs are Hillbilly Bone, All About That Bass, and an original called Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget! It's no joke, Home Free has a song for pretty much any mood or genre. They may be called the only country all vocal band, but they're so much more. They are silly, serious, funky, socially aware, and above all, humble and helpful. Your reactions are fantastic, keep it up! ❤
If you want a good laugh you should see the hone free guilty pleasure from their concerts.
Since there are several this is the one to watch. Always good when you need a pick me up!
ruclips.net/video/tQl_g10Dw-8/видео.html
It's already been done. its sitting in my uploads, waiting for it's scheduled drop. I had a good time with it. Won't spoil the reaction though.
@@debrabusch1090 and this is the one I reacted to!
Other fun videos:
*Hillbilly Bone
*Good Ol' Boy Good Time
*Summer In The Country
*Meet In The Middle
*9 to 5 (both the original video and a live recording, please (they give a little bonus there))
*California Country
9 to 5 I promise is coming very soon. It should have been done by now, but my recording schedule got a little mixed up. The others will be added to my little (Its big) spreadsheet. And yeah, that sounds like a plan to do both original and live.
I think I've seen some people requesting "Mayday". Since you're new to the Home Free rabbit hole (and in case you haven't reacted to it already), I'd recommend you to wait and listen to more of their other songs first, so that you can fully appreciate what they did there.
Oh and btw, "Quarantine" is very fun to watch and listen to!
You have to watch 9 to 5 live. I dropped my jaw when I saw it the first time. (It has to be a live recording, it has to do with beatboxing. I do not say any more)
I 2nd this.
And me ...
The little things that are added, like when Austin is doing "I came in like a wrecking ball" and the rest are "I will wait for you" while Tim & Chris look at their watches. lol
Love your reactions - new subscriber.
This is a fun one but The Butts Medley is even better.
He reacted to that one already.
@@bethcoussou And messed it up. Some day, I'll go back and revisit some of the ones that I've made mistakes on, and do a review of it to see if it still holds up.
Nah
Chance leads & directed "I Can't Outrun You" a Trace Atkins song.
One of my favourite Home Free videos is "This is how we roll". The video is very entertaining, especially if you like "The Big Lebowski". I think that song/video is kind of underrated. There are hardly any reaction videos to that song. I'd so love to see you react to it!
Yes!! That one is under-rated, but really funny, in a different way, and clever homage to the movie!!
I watch Big Lebowski about two or three times a year. Probably in my top 5 comedies of all time. And not many reactions? That definitely gets me wanting to do it even more.
@@DanFromHali It was funny the first time I saw their video, but I had never seen the movie prior to that. Years later I saw it on TV and watched it. I loved the movie! Then the Home Free video made more sense, especially the short part after the actual song was over, the guys had a little chat part at the end. I saw something that didn’t make sense the first time and after I saw the movie I watched the video. Then the lightbulb went on! ☺️ I hope you react to it! It’s really good!
@@DanFromHali The movie is awesome, that's why "This is how we roll" made me love Home Free even more. I love their sense of humor!
@@bethcoussou I've watched the movie many times, so I instantly understood the reference in the chat part after the song and I couldn't stop laughing because the idea was just so awesome. Lol
Home Free is the dynamic quintet that can sing 🎶 all genre of music. They are the best. Their secret weapon Adam Rupp does not shy away from any musical instrument. Though famous for the harmonica. Home Free fans are never tired of watching 👀 there videos. Austin has quite a bit of solos on his RUclips channel and Tim has an album titled The Best I Can Do. The kept us the fans entertained all through the quarantine.
I want to see you do a reaction to Moonshine. It’s been a favorite of mine recently and I think you’d enjoy it.
Moonshine has been requested a few times, I will definitely be getting to it.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see it.
Austin not only hit that note, he also put together this arrangement!
I can believe that, it definitely has Austin written all over it, now that I'm getting to know his style more.
So the chicken has a vital part in most videos from All About That Bass until shortly before Chris left. He bought it as a prop for All About That Bass and decided to hide it in future videos. The Home Fries would spend hours re-watching the videos over and over again to find in. It's in almost all of the videos during that era, but not all. In some videos it's easy to find it, in others it's more difficult. It was a fun game that had the Fries interact with each other while getting the video views up, and it has a big post in the early friendships formed within the community. In this video they did it as a joke. 😁 Thanks for another great reaction!
This is a good one. Yes, Adam and Tim killed it. But I loved Austin, Rob and Chris too. They’re the entire package aren’t they? Yeah the chicken thing is something Chris started way back and it’s in a lot of the videos when he was with the group. It came out of Tim’s pocket. There’s usually a chicken somewhere. Hahaha. Something to look for. Good reaction!
Yay we got to watch it together twice! Loved your reaction and I enjoyed laughing with you on this one. Moonshine, Helplessly Hoping, Mayday, Everybody Walkin' This Land, Can't Stop The Feeling, are some of my favorites.
Thank you Angie. I needed the good laugh. I already did Helplessly Hoping. Was a great listen. Unfortunately, my video didn't turn out great. I forgot the volume was lowered from listening to a previous video. I did listen a second time, and caught the goof.
The rest of your requests are noted. Several of those will be coming soon. Mayday is a different case. I decided that once I hit 1000 subs, I'm going to do a live request/reaction video, and do a few of the reactions live for anybody that cares to join. And in that, that is when I will do Mayday, as well as take requests for others!
Take care, everyone just needs to be there for each other! Through the pandemic our Gov kept saying, we're all in this together and that has really resonated with me! Love this song, one of my favs they do. Austin actually arranged this crazy great mashup. He loves doing that. Couldn't have been easy! They all were super fun/funny as they always are! A really old funny one they do with Austin doing the lead and craziest guy of all is This is How We Roll. Give it a look. So many great ones by these guys!
I'll have to check that out. And yeah. It's tough. My home in Nova Scotia for the most part had been a safe haven. We had a bit of a spike in cases about a month ago, and everybody went to do their part and get tested... now we're locked down, and labs are backed up with tests.
When this whole thing started, I hated it. Lost my job, like many. Went shack whacky... but I think it's funny the point that we're at now. I think even some (SOME) of the people that think its a hoax, and don't believe in any of it... are at the point where they acknowledge that we're all on the same side and just want this to go away.
We do all have to stick together. We'll get through it all.
Could you please react to Thinking out loud/ Let's get it on . Home Free's mashup of 2 great songs
I like a good mash-up, and I feel like this has been getting requested a bit. I dare say it will get done soon!
It's such a good mashup!
So, while Chris was with the group, they had a chicken or rooster in their videos as an Easter egg. The ending was the "hidden" chicken/rooster in this song .
As for the duo of Adam and Tim, I think you are 110% correct. Adam is amazing solo and Tim is otherworldly alone but together they become heavenly. What I love about Home Free is that the effect would not be as strong without the whole package. I like each of them solo but find them together hitting another level.
I've heard other beatboxers that might have more sounds (only the best out there) then Adam, but the way he sits within the song and plays for the group makes him special. While Adam has an amazing solo you can find on YT, there might be other beatboxers I'd be more inclined to pay for a solo performance from but I do not believe any of them would slip into Adams role for Home Free and I would prefer to pay for any group with Adam as the vocal percussion over any of those other beatboxers.
I think they all have solo songs out there (not sure about Adam, but know Chris left to do solo work, Tim has solo work, Chance has solo work, and Austin has solo work... now that I think about it, I haven't seen any Rob solo work... not to say he doesn't have it as I'm relatively new to HF). For me it's the chemistry and blending that make them so special.
Rob does podcasts. Think that is his thing.
Rob's done a couple of collabs with other groups - Can You Feel The Love Tonight with the Hound and the Fox, and an AcaTop10 Movie themes with VoicePlay, but most of his spare time goes to his Avid Indoorsmen film podcast.
I love how they have three songs running at once at one point and the way the others look while Chris is singing his I kissed a girl 😆
Tipity typing Heaven and What we ain't got!Tipity typing complete
Yeah it was great. I watched it a third time and still caught new stuff. Thank you for the tipity typing!
Would love to hear your reaction to Home Free featuring Austin Brown on Les Misérables "Bring Him Home" Rochester, MN 12-02-2015
Wow another request for this. I can't see me not doing this, as I love musical theater, and particularly Les Mis. So yeah, I'd look for that in the next week or so.
Thank u looking forward to hearing it
The work between Mr. Rupp and Mr. Faust was not lost on the judges in the Sing-Off competition. I highly recommend you consider reacting to the competition videos, complete with intros and judge comments. They are very informative regarding Home Free’s history and to see how they have evolved since 2013.
It's just a matter of time. It won't be this coming week, but maybe the following, I'll try to do them all through the week. I do want to.
Oh yes please! I love seeing people discover them the way I did, on “The Sing Off “!
Love your reactions. Glad to see your smile back today. 😊 a really fun one to sprinkle in between the deeper ones is Hillbilly Bone. That one will get you up and dancing!!!!
Well I did, and I lost it. I did a couple videos that made me tear up a bit. A Song For Jim, from a different band, and Home Free's Mom, both are coming shortly... but I had to do some more fun videos to get me back in the game, for sure. That last one kind of killed me a bit.
@@DanFromHali this the best part of Home Free, they touch your soul or your funny bone and everything in between. I have been a follower from your first moment and really enjoy seeing the laughs, the wonder, the emotions this groups music journey takes you on. I felt all those same things when I discovered them just a few short weeks ago. Now I'm 100% a Home Fry. Even got tickets to a virtual concert Tim and Austin are having this week.
I would love to see your reaction to Lonely Girl's Night. It's an original song that was written by Austin.
I LOVE that you do reactions twice!😎😎😎😎
Not always. If a song is longer, and I'm aware of it's length, I probably won't do it twice. I think for me though, it's something where if the song catches me, and entertains me, or the music enthralls me, I will listen to it again... Or if I think its a great song that I've cut up a lot with my reacting, I might play it back to listen to.
WORKIN FOR A LIVIN BY HOME FREE LOTS OF FUN
Stank face at 5:56! Love it!
The Rooster was a running gag with Adam Rupp.
I’ve never listened to them before subscribing to your channel. I think I am liking them. And you. 🌺
Well I am glad you found them. More will be coming! They have a variety of different types of music. I didn't they were my cup of tea at all until I took a chance!
you may not like the song/singer, but, watch "All Bout That Bass" cover You will get a chuckle out of it!
Especially if you have seen the original Meghan Trainor video.
Meghan Trainor? I actually have seen her live. I don't love her, but I think the song is okay. I will end up checking it out.
@@DanFromHali the Home Free cover is worth it.
Great reaction! I love this video so much, and I don't even know all these songs :) My kids raised me on Metallica, Alice in Chains and Nirvana. Pop has passed me by, but I'm ok with that! If you're into fun video transitions check out Meet in the Middle!
My brother had me listening to Metallica, Korn, Alice in Chains myself. Growing up I was more in to that, Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt, a Canadian band called Our Lady Peace. My mom was country all the time... so I rebelled. But this stuff is fun.
@@DanFromHali Our Lady Peace rang a bell - I remember Superman is Dead! I forgot about working nights with radio on the headphones for 8 hours! First thing I thought of was No Tengo Dinero. Doesn't get much more pop than that I guess, and I loved it! No Doubt too.
@@krisholliday5150 Yup that's them. I have no joke seen them 15+ times in concert over the years, and would gladly see them again. 90s were a fun time for music!
Thank you Dan 🙋🏼♀️🎶
LOL the Chicken/Rooster Chris Rupp used to hide it some where in their early video's
Welcome to the Home Fries community. May day, All About the Bass, Blue Aint your Color and End of the Road are great. Everything they do is great😊
Thank you so much, Rxgirl. I have already done one of these. End of the Road is one of my favorites so far!
The chicken disappears & then reappears several times during the video. I had not noticed it until recently. Apparently it was something Chris did - several of their videos feature a chicken making a cameo.
So much talent!!❤❤❤❤❤
Liking your reactions a lot! Keep them coming
That Chicken has been in several videos, it all began on a farm.
Great Reaction!! You know we love our Homefree!😊
I'd love to see your reaction HF Flowers on the wall, Gambler and Do you hear what I hear.
I wouldn't hold my breath on Do You Hear What I Hear. I will react to it, but I'd also like to have some Holiday stuff for Holiday time. The other two are coming soonish.
@@DanFromHali I can wait😊
Yes, you definitely do want to do "Do You Hear What I Hear" once Christmastime rolls around. Adam Rupp arranged it and it is incredible. When he first brought it to them, they all thought it was too complex to actually do, then decided to record it, but thought it was too difficult to attempt live in concert. They now do it in concerts. When you do react to it, be sure to read his introduction to it in the video description. He had specific reasons for the musical choices he made in the arrangement -- a message he wanted to convey. Every time I listen to it, I find something new and my respect for him just increases.
I guess he's done a number of arrangements, but most of them have just been too hard for them to pull off. The only other one I know he did that they recorded was "Honey I'm Good". I can't remember if you've watched that one, but I love the Groundhogs Day feel to it.
@@DanFromHali NO! I can not wait that long for your reaction video for DO YOU HEAR EHAT I HEAR! P L E A S E? I listen to this all year long. They have tons of holiday video's. This was arranged by Adam and is so intricate that apparently they never perform this live.
@@lrfcowper Glad to hear they perform it in concerts now. Sucks that i'll never get to see them live.
Thank you for reacting to this song. It just gets me every time and I watch for the Rooster to appear and disappear. Not sure if you reacted to... Feelin It...that is one that half way through will show Chris singing. There are some others, but that what came to mind. Just a thought. When you think about it. It is fun. Thanks again and God Bless.
If you wander if Tim is doing som background "humming" or other freaky sound and he's in picture, look at his hand, he do some stuff, I call it "air-piano" (don't know if its the right term.) It's like a orchestra leader (?) that shows you how to sing.
My Church and Ring of Fire are great to listen to.
The chicken is an ongoing joke. It’s in the background of a few videos. 🤣
OK....watch it again & check out Tim’s pocket.....LOLOL....you’ll see the chicken peeking out🙃‼️🙃
Fun fact, Chris was employed as a computer game created.
That note from Austin was somewhat Mitchesque!
I absolutely love this video. They did a great reaction
Yeah it was a blast to do!
Thank you for bring the audio up on the video, much appreciated.
I think most of my newer ones are at a decent level, yeah? I turned my mic down just a little bit lower than the video, as well as turning the output from the song up a few days ago, and tested it around with different things, and I think I got it to a point where I'm happy with it. Hopefully you, and the rest are too!
I heard that Austin arranged this
My wishlist for humorous/relaxing
Down To The Honky Tonk
Meet In The Middle
Hillbilly Bone
Nine To Five (video and live with beatboxing breakdown)
Adam Rupp beatboxing Solo
My wishlist for beautiful
Do You Hear What I Hear
Bring Him Home (live)
How Great Thou Art
California Country
Cover Me Up
Thanks for doing it twice 😊😎😎😎😎
No problem, I really enjoyed the whole thing.
Early videos ALL had ‘a’ chicken - or ‘the’ chicken. This one descended from above. I don’t know the details but just write it off as part of their charming whackiness.
You might want to try the Butt's Medley from Home Free
This has always been a favorite for me, yes the beatboxing is amazing! Another one I really love that has a bit of humor in it at the end is Their cover of Avicii - Wake Me Up. It's an early video, basic, but really good and you can see some of what Adam the beatboxer is doing. Austin Leads.
Home Free did a Garth Brooks cover of “Mom” years ago when Chris was still with. the group. It would be very fitting, even though I should have suggested it sooner since you’ve already recorded your videos for the weekend. It’s a sweet video and if you do react to it even late, stay tuned at the end when the guys show up in the video, too. They also show their love for their moms, too. I loved your reaction. It’s funny because I only recently realized the editing mistake with the chicken in his pocket in the first part of the video. I’ve seen it bunches of times years ago and never even noticed. ☺️
Your request has been completed! I forgot I already told somebody I would do it. So after my other recordings, I added a little bit of branding to my videos. So Mom has a new look, and the other videos for today, and monday will have the old look. Is what it is. !
Everyone Walking This Land.
The rooster at the end use to be in all there video's. Great reaction.
Thank you Sharon. And that's too funny!
One I love but don't ever see recommended is Meant to Be.
Its actually been mentioned a couple times, and I think it will be coming either this week or the next.
The Rooster used to be the group's mascot. They used to have a rooster/chicken hidden in their videos. They don't do it anymore.
That was due to a fan giving Chris some toy roosters. When he left they stopped using it. It is like an easter egg in the videos.
Watch their hands and you'll know if they're doing something.
If you doth like finding continuity errors, as well as humor I suggest Home Free’s cover of I Swear
I have seen the rooster in a few videos. It was last seen in Austin’s bookcase.
Aha thats pretty funny.
Can't wait for you to reach 1k subs to react to Mayday :)
Misty Mountain
I think I replied on another one of your comments, I've already done that one.
When Chris was there they tried to use the D
Rooster
😆👍🏻❤️
Love this but you need to hear the butt medley for a real pick me up
Do sold or thank hod I’m a country boy
Do yourself a favor and get yourself a timer or a clock and stop hitting the pause button every 10 seconds, especially if you are going to stop a song and make a bland statement like "This is a good mashup". Take at least 30 seconds between pauses, unless you have something important to say about the song or artist. Imagine that your viewer is like you and is seeing the video for the first time. Constant pausing breaks up the continuity of the song or video and makes it less pleasing for the viewer.
Hey Jesse, I don't think I'm going to take your advice on that. There are plenty of reactors that do this, and I don't understand why you would want all reactors to do the same thing. I'm not hitting the pause button out of some sense of needing to stop the video every so often. I'm pressing the pause button to give my reaction, because, uh I'm reacting to it. I'm sorry that I'm not saying the same things as everybody else, but I'm giving my genuine thoughts of what I think of the song.
Much like you want me to imagine something from my viewers perspective (which is wrong, and I'll tell you why), imagine recording this from a reactors perspective. Sometimes you can't just hold on to your thoughts until the end.
As for why your wrong. No, I will not imagine my viewer is watching the video for the first time, because that's stupid. Nobody is going to watch a reaction video before they watch the original. You've already watched it. You know what's there. You know what's coming. If you want to watch somebody on cam, just chill and nod their head while watching the video... don't look for an actual reaction video. I have something to say, I'm going to say it... simple as that. If you don't like it do yourself a favor, and just go elsewhere instead of telling someone how they are supposed to react.
