Just for the record: "Sesamstraat" is the dutch (netherlands) version of Sesame Street and "Sesamstraße" is the german series (which has quite a large and active fanbase here ;) In the german dub, his twin Bart is called Bernd and the nephew Brad is called Gerd) Have a great day!
That was quite interesting. I had thought about doing a series regarding a full series of family members in each franchise. But I would imagine it would be hard to do that for Sesame Street given how long the show had been running.
Do we know for sure that Brad is Bart's offspring and not the sister's? Also Brad is on display at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Georgia. Visiting Brad is like a trip to Mecca.
Okay, a correction, you may think I'm being pedantic but I'm absolutely serious.... When I found out about Foley and Friends I immediately stopped the video and searched for it. And I found it! Then I opened my podcatcher and looked for it, but couldn't find it. Huh! Weird! it turns out that Foley and Friends is Audible exclusive. This is the thing I'm complaining about, in my authority of Long Time Internet User: _if it doesn't have a feed that can be sent to a podcatcher client, it is not a podcast!_ It's an episodic audio show, it's an Audible exclusive program, it could be one of any number of things, but it is _not a podcast_. no matter what they call themselves, even if that they is Sesame Street. Language evolves over time yes, but I'm drawing the line here frogdammit. You have a great show, I love ever episode, but I feel like I have to take a stand for this one Internet Thing. I find it kind of funny that of all the random family members ever mentioned for Bert, his father does not appear to be one of them. Maybe there's secret behind the scenes lore about that? Could be interesting to speculate on.
Maybe Bert DOESN'T have a sister, and he's saying that even a sister that he doesn't actually have can draw better than Ernie. That Bart's first word scene reminds me of a scene from The Simpsons, where Lisa's first word was Bart.

In his first appearance, Bert says it's his brother's kid and that he's watching over him while Bart is away.
