I don't used to leave comments on youtube but... man, I loved how you ended up this video. Keep playing with your kid, at the end we are all kids with bigger toys. One of the advantage as a kid is we are all creative with huge imagination. Great video Tom!
why is everyone's garage on youtube cleaner than mine
Same reason my house is always cleaner when I have a girl coming over. ;-)
Cos no one works in this one shown.
Because those are really shops that they rent just so they can do their video shooting
Because they don't actually work in them everyday.
TurboZED they clean it first, then shot lol
Wow what a dream garage. I do auto mechanical work on the side in my 1 and a half size garage, and for many many years I have made a lot of money. I love your garage. Thanks for sharing....Canada
Your boy is lucky to have such a great dad.
I like this for two reasons. One is the portability. It didn't look like he struggled at all with moving it. Second, unlike others the center is open so you could do a transmission if need be.
I am all in favor of an advertisement video. Tom busts his butt making these cool videos, he deserves to be rewarded... Great vid Tom !
MetalTeamster Thank you for saying that, I just like doing these from time to time. I mentioned this below, but I've done five of these review type videos out of the 51 turbo garage videos that I've posted, so once in awhile they're fun.
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Caspian Ayaan Instablaster :)
Just bought the heavier 7000 pound version. Here in Canada winter/summer tire changeovers are a must. And nowadays wheel storage charges are outrageous. I do 4 family vehicles so this thing pays for itself in one year.
At the beginning he said he hated but then
Still be working on the cold, hard garage floor.
you right about that..
Please stop running over those hoses!
@@ronaldburgess2884 I know right. It gives me an uneasy feeling when I see that.
Luv the ending brotha, reminds me of something I would do with my baby boy... 👍
Oh man...that guitar ramping up and fading out was totally awesome!
I noticed that the cylinders have a small tank?? connected to the other end from the end you're hooking up to the pump.. It looks like it's got a valve stem on it. If it's what I think it is, that's brilliant. Other end doesn't have fluid, it has air and as you lift car or whatever, that air is forced into the small tank, pressurizing it, then that air helps lower the jack so you don't have to stand on it or anything to make it go all the way down. When you first get it, just put a bit of air, like 10psi to "prime" it to lock it in the "down" position. Pretty cool.
I love how you include your kids! I'd bet as grow they'll share your love of cars and build great memories with you.
Thank you sir, yes they make the car hobby lots of fun!
I love that mitsubishi gallant, one of the best cars in its class and easily above.
Nice
Bitsamissin
Oh nice, I wanted to get a lift for my cars but my garage height is like 10 feet, so a full-fledged lift would not be feasible, this looks like a great alternative, thanks for bringing to light, Tom!
ikutoisahobo You're welcome man, glad I could help!
In all your years of RUclips, did you ever think this would be your most popular video? Don't take this the wrong way, but I think it's kind of funny.
Anyway, love the channel Tom. Hope you're doing well bud.
Oh, man, you are a very good car mechanic and very good father
Thank you for saying that!
My dad picked up one of these. Just did a brake job on his aston martin. Great bit of kit. I really hope it lasts.
I have a 5000 pounder. The contactor that controls the switch failed after the tenth or eleventh lift. It is cheap in build and design. The hoses covering isn't very durable and some of the engineering for the power unit leaves alot to be desired. It is easy to use though if you overlook its foibles.
I agree having a lift is a lifesaver for your body and back.
Came for the lift review, stayed for the adorable father/son content.
The bit with ur kid was cute. I'd totally get one of those jacks if i had my own place and could store my tools. maybe i'll convice my dad to get one at his place.
Thanks for the video it is sure nice to have one but I can't afford it especially for my truck, that one sells for $2k. I am happy with my floor jack but I can dream about it at least. That was pretty cool with your little UPS man I am sure he loved it too! Thanks again!
Ha, ha - I was wondering why there was so much time left on the counter when the QuickJack review was visibly ending.... I was about to go to another video and then just happened to be reading the comments below when I saw something about the great "father/son" bit and I said, "What??!"
I watched the last couple of minutes and thought they were great (I actually thought the beginning of that bit was someone banging on a bathroom door or something). Cute bit -- but what will be the best legacy is when Tom's son grows up and looks back and realizes just how much his dad loved him to put the time and effort into including him in this video in a great little bit. (Didn't know you would get a UPS uniform in such a small size, ha ha....)
But in the beginning you said you were tired of being sore from the floor and you went back to it? Seems cool tho nonetheless
Josue Valadez .
its an ad... so he was caught in a lie
Josue Valadez lol
He mentioned the main reason for these was for portability so for quick work at the track or on the go when needed because your lift is stuck in your garage
That finish was epic.awwww cute little ups guy lol adorable .thumbs-up
diego villanueva Haha, thank you Diego! :-D
Wow, putting this on every gift list possible.
lol "very important minivan maintenance" I'll need to remember that one!
Haha!
This is an incredible piece of equipment! I hope I can get one someday! Thanks!
Love the video at the end. Made me laugh, and my 6 and 7 year old grandson's ! Love the jack too, need to get me one.
Also, those quick connects, I'd switch them so you have male/female on each end of the pairs so they cannot be hooked up backwards or cross the flows. They make quick connects with stops on both male and female connectors so they don't drain and only lose 2 or 3 drops of fluid when disconnecting. Makes it much easier to keep the connectors clean, just hook them into themselves, no way dirt or anything getting into them if you do that.
I admire a creative idea like yours. I especially like the end part of the video with your little UPS boy. Your a great video maker...
Jack and Stands best thing ever!!!!!
Looks useful, and the UPS guy scene funny too.
First...just ordered mine. As auto repair is both my profession and hobby, this make sense. Its strong and safe, and I can store it easily. Second, should you be driving over the hydraulic hoses like that? Wouldn't it, for the sake of longevity, be better to set up the lift after you set the vehicle in place? Just a thought. Great video btw.
Dear turbo tom santa, I want one for Christmas! I have been extra good this year so there is no need to check that list of yours!
rambow70 Have you been naughty or nice?!
I would have never knew about this unless I went to the track and luckily seen it!! Thanks Tom! hope to see more videos like always :D...
DShizDawg You're welcome man and I'm glad you found it informative. Got lots of cool stuff coming soon!
Well, now I know what's going on my wishlist. I hate getting my vehicles up on stands with a floor jack, this is the way to go.
getting one in the spring.
Good deal Andy, have fun with it!
at $1500, I'll stick to jack stands...besides its only my fiancé and my car that I work on lol
+James Valenti and for not a hell of a lot more than that you can get a used proper car lift.
If you have the garage/floor to support it
Why would you want a regular lift dominating your garage 24/7 when you only need it occasionally? I only have a two car garage, and a standard lift would take up half of it whether there was a car on that side or not. That sucks!
Some people just don't get the idea. This is for small garages. Perfect for people who like to work on cars at home. Not everyone has a huge garage capable of supporting an immense jack stand.
And it's portable.
I have fallen asleep under my fiance's car, too. When I work on her brake lines, I find it soothing and pleasant...almost hypnotic. I love tinkering with them even though she and her dad have both warned me to stay away from them.
glad to see the mpv again!
jowowetan Haha, thanks man! I love the heck out of it!
That garage is bad ass.
Wow, this thing is pretty handy and portable...Great vid
RACIN DE Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Man I wish I had a garage like yours! That is sweet!
Thank you Jesse.
Would this work with a chevy silverado 1500 regular cab long bed? or is the truck just too long for something like this?
Buy 2 kits, modify them so it can go higher up and boom ! Nice vid.
Great idea
Thats cool product. Love the little UPS guy. u must be a petty cool dad.
ok, that Quickjack looks way cool. And thanks for the after show! That was cute.
Great idea, but by the time you unload it at worksites, you could be more ahead in work by using floor jack and support stands
Hi I noticed that you drove over the hydraulic pipes . I would think that this would not be a good idea long term . The unit I did like very much . 👍🏻😎👍🏻🇬🇧
Yes, had he read the manual, you never drive over the hoses.
Looking at the design of the lift. It looks like you would place them together (side by side) so you won't be driving over the hoses. Then drive over the lifts and the with the handles on the lifts are use to pull them towards you to be put under the rails of the vehicle. This would avoid from the lines being driven over.
I think so too
Agreed. Or don't connect the hoses until you have parked the car. They are quick disconnect.
thank you for taking your time to review something like this!!!
+Jacky L. he is paid to do this review...
well done nice and easy can be fix any where grage or out side like it but how much 'll cost tho
That was a great video! Love the pinky out while drinking the coffee 3 stooges style lol your also a great dad! This is a great product definitely going to consider
I LOVE IT!!! I am building anew garage and this is so coooooool!!!! PS.....Nice jeep.....and I want that UPS driver to deliver my packages!!!
Great video and great acting from the UPS guy
I wouldn't drive over the hydraulic lines, but nice video otherwise!
Quick disconnects are your friend
Even the kid didn't run over the hoses. LOL
You've got a Mitsubishi VR4? Damn that's freaking awesome
Too cute! But better yet. Where did you get that Jeep? Sits high and sounds like a powerful engine.
It's been a while nice to hear from you again tom
imdowncow011 Thanks man! I did post a Miata video recently in case you didn't see that.
I liked the tiny UPS guy. Best part
With the safety locks engaged and jack stands.as a back up you should be fine. This could be a good lift for brakes especially since you can remove the wheels where ramps the tires are resting on the ramp.
what keeps them from swaying to the left or right ?
that is my concern because i do not have a professionally leveled concrete floor.
i have the ground .
looks awesome tho.
very cute with the u.p.s.'s jeep help . good thing you knew how to fix it . lol
My favorite part was when you "spent a few relaxing moments with the instructions"!!! LOL
Oh wait a minute, I didn't watch the video until the end before writing my last comment. The repair on the Tiny UPS man's car took the cake. :)
I think I'll stick with my 6 ton Mohawk lift. Trying to work on some of the lifted trucks I play with the Quick jack just wouldn't reach. Love the UPS skit!
Thought this was a great idea until I saw the price...You have got to be nuts!! The 3500lb unit on Amazon was $1000. Sorry but I need a kiss before being f*cked like that.
what did you expect it being like $200 for this?
Yeahhhh I´m quite sure you don´t know how much does that tiny little motor and hydro pump costs... Half of the cost of this thing is probably going there. Granted is not 1K but not 350-450 that does not even cover the whole hydro setup.
Go and build it cheaper if you think it can be done. Otherwise shut your piehole, stupid.
Oh, I'm sorry I stole your precious time that you could have used to insult other people. Mea culpa. And come up with a better insult then sending me to my lawnmower which I do not own. It was kinda funny the first time but got old real quick.
How about you fucking learn to repair your car ?
I bet you can't even change a tire.....
Thanks for reviewing these. I did not know there was an option like this. Even though I can get a decent lift about the same price, I would have to change my garage door rails and other stuff just to install it. I do wish it could go a little higher though. It would be great if I could get my engine out from below as the engine/trans combo is quite heavy for my car.
cms-gt4 You're welcome sir! I agree that it would be nice if it went higher, but it would likely have to be much beefier with larger components all around. I wouldn't be surprised if Ranger expanded this product line eventually.
Tom's Turbo Garage Can you suggest any quality competitors?
cms-gt4 There are likely other products out there that I'm not aware of, but a few companies make mid-rise lifts that work in low ceiling garages and offer a (mostly) clear floor. Northern Tool is one site that has a few different vendors: www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_automotive+automotive-lifts
Great video Tom!!!....I think I might have to treat myself!!
Joe Caraluzzo Thanks Joe, I appreciate that and hope you find one lifting up your Christmas tree this year. :-D
i like your mod on the power wheel. the rear tire rubbers. haha. sweet
Thanks man, they are bicycle tires screwed to the plastic wheel. It works great.
A lighthearted DIY, I want one!
with 125 views, should have had 125 thumbs up--great video, informative & funny !
rhpicayune Haha, thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great product and great video!
You are truly a great mechanic!
Galant super saloon My dream car back in 1989 up to the early 90s!
Great video. However I was wondering if it's a good practice to drive over the hydraulic hoses.
No it's not. And had he actually read the manual, he would have known better.
The plastic Jeep is the only vehicle I’d trust these jacks with
Awesome channel 👍🏻
You have 2 nice DSM's ! You don't see many VR-4's these days!
Finally a new video! awesuuuuum
timo vähäkuopus Thanks a ton Timo! Just in case you didn't see it I uploaded a new Miata video recently too.
Oh, i might have missed it
Here's my question:
Can the jacks be disconnected from the pump and hold their pressure?
It looks like the lines would get in the way of a creeper rolling around under there.
I'm not sure but the locks do hold the lift in the up position. Give bendpak a call, they could answer that question in a second.
It should. This quick connector model work like a check valve when disconnected. Some quick connectors are designed ''open end'' so the circuit remains open when disconnected. A good example of this one is air hoses used in tyres shop used to inflate tyres.
Yes, but you need to push the down button o cell in the lock position to empty the lines
No, but when locked in place with the locking arms, you can disconnect the hoses.
@@enterBJ40 well if it should or not, the manual says you can't use it like that. It says only rely on the locking arms and only then can you disconnect the hoses when under load.
im in the UK ive not seen these for sale over here and would like to see them over here these are a very salable itm over in the UK i would like to see how they lift a range rover and if they do well. the 4x4 clubs i go to would buy them a much needed item for us off road people thanks for the filming on my wish list
Have you used this set up on your ISF? I have an ISF too and always have a very fun time trying to lift it up with standard conventional stands. The ISF has weird lifting points due to the tub under the car..
Nice video like the small UPS man ha ha
Awesome, that's the same minivan I have, same color , rims and everything.
That's the same Jeep I have, same color, rims, and everything. I also had the same problem with the engine!
"Theres a dog in your engine"
"Whaaaaaaat!?"
Cutest ever! Great vid Tom! This is something I need to get soon
Ernest Amar Haha! Thank you Ernest, glad you enjoyed it!
Get a scissor lift for the same price. Lifts up to 60in
Awesome tiny UPS man!!!
Jeff Campbell Haha, thanks Jeff!
In the segment with the minivan, the QuickJack's rear lift point is well inside Mazda's recommended location for the MPV - just this side of the rear wheel. And the wheelbase of the MPV would seem to be outside the 50.5" range of the BL-5000. Lastly, the weight ratio of the MPV is well balanced and the jack location as shown would likely put it ahead of the van's center of gravity. All that said, I really want this jack but it seems to be targeted at smaller cars.
I wonder if this would also be good for servicing the zero turn mower with their odd wheelbase? Cleaning the deck, sharpening blades, ect. Might be worth it if it can also do that, might eliminate the need for the stand up mower jack
so after the tiny UPS man showed up, i HAD to go and get my wife and explain how important is to have a lift like this one at home. Awesome job!
Hey Tom, great lift jack, I went on your website but I don't seem to see exactly this product listed on it. The website is not that clear to spot products. Maybe you gotta tell your web developers to do some edit.
Oh, Tom...thanks for adding one more thing over $1K to my wish list. Sure does look awesome though, great alternative to a two-post setup. Can't wait to see what you do with your new Mazdaspeed Miata, I too am building up a turbo miata, mines a '94.
William Rengel Thank you William and sorry about that! :-D Good luck on your Turbo Miata build, they make fantastic, fun cars! My best advice is to just take your time and do it right.
I would be worried about sideways stability, especially if you had to try to use this on an uneven, or softer surface, like asphalt. Needs outriggers for stability. Btw.... that was the most efficient UPS man that I have ever seen!!!
This is the Business! ! 👌
maybe you could use the quickjack at the track when the galant gets some track time? btw Kool jeep.
Tim McNeil That would be great Tim! Thanks!
The real ups guy won’t be thrilled about delivering these lifts lol
You have to be a little carful with these things, had my car fall off once. Get them straight. In addition if you need parts they are the only game in town even if all you need is an O-ring you have to buy the whole fitting. Still a good product.
Very Cool. I think I saw quick disconnects. Do you need to bleed the lines after uncoupling/recoupling ? Will teflon sealing tape work with ATF?
Great video, now that it's a couple of years later, do you have any pros/cons updates to this? I'm seriously considering one of these for myself. I was looking at the Atlas Kwik Bay, but it seems like storage would be an issue for me. This seems like a perfect and more portable solution.
Should we drive over the jack hoses or no? I saw you drove over them.
Great job
OH HELL YA! THAT IS WHAT I NEED THANKS TOM!
