Great topic - taking a slow approach, recycling what you have. More thoughtful than a quick gut job!
Determination and a tiny budget taught me this. The cabinets were saved with sanding and white paint, taking the doors off and spraying them was the key. A few months later I tiled the countertops. Not ideal but the tile was $1 sq ft and I found some tiles to use as accents that matched my Fiestaware. The cost was pennies to the dollar and I enjoyed my house so much more.

Always hated renovation shows that took such glee in taking a sledge hammer and smashing up perfectly good cabinets (honestly some were of much better quality than the new cabinets they'd replace them with). It was so wasteful. So many people would have loved to take those 'old' cabinets and put them in their kitchen. So glad to see some of the shows have been more careful in removing the cabinets so they can be donated instead of dumped in the trash.
We may not like « Chantilly Lace », but sometimes we have to face the faces that it is the best choice! I know I might have to do maybe 1-2 more coats, but after over a douzen tests of different whites (not for lack of trying😅), this is the color that looks the prettiest in my home. Nice reminder renovation can be a long process and it’s ok! 🙃
There's a gap between the cabinet doors on two of the cabinets. That would drive me crazy.
Nope, Dont like the white with THAT FLOOR! I DO love the dark cabinetry, it goes with the floor, and its more timeless than that white...BUT as usual thats MY taste, a nice honey oak color would have worked with ALL of it if ppl dont like the beautiful dark woods!
Good video. Thank you. One slight negative, however. The “clip art” insertions are distracting. Having your guest show us what she’s talking about, rather than “illustrating” with generic clips. Our attention span is not as short as you seem to think.
