All four girls have solo songs posted and you see how amazing they are individually. But there is no denying that together they are truly powerful. I think the bond they have between them as sisters makes them incredible. They share that spotlight equally and are truly a team. They remind us of how family is supposed to be.
I'm with you on that. I spent years wondering how anyone could get emotional over a song. Then these girls came along and turned on the waterworks in my eyes. They are definitely special.
The xfactor days were something special. How quickly we all got caught up in the emotion. When they first walked on stage they seemed almost choked up with excitement and I wondered how they could sing when they could hardly talk. But when the music started it was all business. I think many of us fell in love with them from that first audition. We not only saw the talent when they practically rewrote Bang Bang and owned it, but we got a chance to see them as people. And oh how they have grown since then. Celina stands out in how she went from being good to now she's a powerhouse. You can't even attempt to have a favorite between them. You just love them all dearly. I've never loved a group so much and doubt anyone will ever top them in my eyes.
What a good majority of listeners don't realize is that singing in a group (as opposed to solos) and making it work is more difficult in that you'll have to consider the right blending of voices / pitches plus at the same time you'll have to worry about timing / synchronicity as well. That's why I commend these girls for bringing their A1 game with every performance.
Mylene is definitely gifted with arrangements. It's fun how people keep thinking they know who the lead singer is and then the girls change. They are all able to sing lead yet they share equally. I love that bit where they harmonized with those soprano notes in there. It's so beautiful having that harmony. It is reminiscent of how they blend operatic notes in Disney songs like Be My Guest. It's one of my favorite elements in any arrangement. I love high notes in general, esp the clear, angelic type. It's so refreshing to see how in touch with your emotions you are, and that you're open about them. To be an artist or performer, you got to have some kind of emotion you're conveying, and as a vocal coach, it's so great. For me, it's Show Yourself that really gets me to cry each time I listen to it. It's so amazing.

Simon commented that he's heard it so many times and was actually dredding it but when they started to sing, everything changed. This past Christmas they did a fresh cover of Oh Holy Night. I felt like Simon. Every year the Christmas music gets played half to death and eventually we get tired of it. It's now late February and I am still loving the song.
