Thanks for this : very clear, complete, easy to understand. I hope we see this capability in Zf firmware sooner rather than later. Hopefully Nikon are not delaying intentionally and turning this into a Z6III exclusivity.... Would also be nice on the current 45 MP bodies (Z7II included): avoid fiddly Lightroom raw conversion sessions altogether before handing over highlights of a shoot to your clients with your own signature colour gradings on the spot and straight out of camera.
Unfortunately, I now believe that Nikon only enables the flexible color picture profile for the Z6III and subsequent cameras. Nikon had a good idea, but unfortunately Nikon still didn't understand the implementation of how to win customers from Fujifilm. Apart from a mention in a few videos, nothing has happened so far. It has now been over 3 months since the Z6III was introduced. When you ask Nikon several questions, you get answers that are so meaningless that a deaf and mute person is a miracle of communication. It's just like so often. A good idea (probably by chance), but no insight into the possibilities of doing something with it. Nikon could do a lot more if they were smarter. I'm still a fan of this brand because they already have good cameras and lenses. But it's still a shame when you see what else could be possible.
One error/mistake/missed point. If you use NX Studio as your RAW converter then the recipes are applied to the RAW images prior to modifying and/or exporting. Yes, to tiff or jpeg but a good starting point.
Yes but most users are too lazy to use all the posiblities of a camera system. FUJI users are a great example. They think the film simulation presets are everything to make outstanding images but in the end they are presets like Instagram filters.
Thanks so much for this very awesome video, you’re definitely best in class!!! Please please make a video for setting up the Z6iii as the follow up to your initial one for autofocus settings for stills and videos which you programmed to U1-U2-U3 for simplicity.
@@kylemeshna Others like me I'm sure are anxious to plug-in those settings to our cameras...could you link them within your initial video where you suggested autofocus settings for stills and video???
Interesting video about the new imaging cloud. I think the workflow could be expanded in the future to synchronize all the picture profiles, camera settings and editing from NX Studio without the need to exchange any memory card on the camera because it's all done over the cloud. And if you have multiple cameras also synchronize between them.
@@davidcrighton3431 It would be even more comfortable if it would be a "one click solution" within the own Software of Nikon. For example like "Send to Imaging Cloud" or a Sync option. Everything what has to do with a user profile or custom options could be managed from the cloud.
Well done mate! As a Nikon user since 1999, I'm disappointed with the company, because it is way complex work to get it working comparing to Fuji one. Nowadays technology by itself is like a design for beauty, they must be functional or they not worthy, witch is the case. Again kudos for your brilliant video.
I got your custom recipes and I love them, only problem is that NP3 files don’t seem to work on my ZF, only on my z6iii. Any chance you could release them in the NCP file format as well?
This is not compatible with Zf yet. It should come soon as firmware update hopefully. But you can use these in NX Studio to export jpegs from your Zf RAWs. That's what I do with my film sims for the moment
Canon has custom defined style for ages and it is not even well known. All brands are going this way only for color grading, they never pay attention on other effect like film grain, blooming (not sharpness clarity), vignette, etc, which is Fuji is doing very well. Not sure whenever they realize those effect is a must feature SooC image quality like Fuji did.
Are we actually sure loading picture controls is only possible on the Z6iii? My Z6ii does it as well. The Imaging Cloud seems to be Z6iii only but loading picture controls isn’t.
Kinda clickbaity. This would be more relatable if this process was to make the Nikon a bit like a Fuji XT series camera. The x100 is a totally different experience altogether especially because of its fixed lens form factor. The recipes are pretty fun but not the x100’s sole identity.

Soooooooooooooooo glad someone came up with this. Zf user.
Are you able to do this for the Nikon at?
Does this feature work on the ZF?
Thanks! can't be explained in a better way! Gonna try that NOIR asap...
Love it!
Picture profile was previously also available to upload in camera via sd card

Wow that is awesome , that it only works for Z6III?

I’ll get to work on that!

@@kylemeshna Hi Kyle, are you able to post those settings this week because I have 2 trips planned in the coming days/weeks? Cheers
I’m on a trip myself at the moment so it’ll take some time unfortunately
@@kylemeshna hi Kyle are you still hoping to make that follow up video as we discussed?
Nice video! I hope they bring the image cloud and recipes to more Nikon Z bodies. Got a z6ii and z30 I'd love to experiment with this.
Interesting stuff! Will this work the same on a Nikon ZF?

Agreed that would be great
You can. Simply upload them to Nikon Imaging on your laptop/PC. That’s how I do it as my stupid cards are read only. Probably my fault. 😉

They need to build this out lumix lab style
That 77 tabs is diabolical
You should see the chrome tabs on my MacBook 😂
@@kylemeshna try ARC, that sorts your TABS for you. lovely feature :D
This is awesome.
Have we not been able to do this with Nikon picture control since the D300s,
Color grading abilities are new with what's currently available at NX Studio / Imaging Cloud.
Just curious if Nikon is preparing firmware updates for other current Z-mount cameras to make them compatible with the Imaging Cloud.
I reached out to Nikon to ask. Haven’t heard back
@@kylemeshnaheard back yet? I have to imagine they would for the newer cameras
I’m guessing this is only for the Nikon Z6iii and not cameras like Nikon Zf?
Plzzz anyone tell me, can i buy fuji x100vi for vlogging.
If they could add these as options for NLog View Assist that would be an absolute game changer!
Now how do I add films to my A6700

Shoulda watched to the end
