      Hi Steve, we went mid September and got home early October ..we might have left it a bit late in the season although it was nice and quiet and we did get lucky with the weather ….eventually😁

    This video brought back brilliant memories of my ride to Nordkapp on 13 June 2008. The scenery brought it all back to me! Your lucky, believe me. We hit a snow storm, lasting over an hour. I honestly thought we would never get to Nordkapp. Then suddenly, dry roads but incredibly cold. The windchill I will never forget at the globe. Great video guys, well done. 👌👏

    • @SeanandEmily
      @SeanandEmily  Год назад

      Hi Ewen, Glad the video brought back memories! The weather is so unpredictable and yeah i think we were lucky with the weather -especially for this leg of the journey. To be caught in a snow storm up there must not have been fun! Glad it cleared up for you though, it was cold on the night ride up (i think it dropped to about 6 degree).
      Really glad you enjoyed the series so far and hope to hear from you again.
      Next episode is out Wednesday.

    There was not any tunnel when I went to the Nordkapp the first time... that was in 1988, coming from the 5th Intl. Conference on Permafrost held in Trondheim... as a young researcher... tempus fugit! Watching your footage my appetite gets stimulated to return one more time....

    • @SeanandEmily
      @SeanandEmily  Год назад

      Hi, I bet the journey was a little more challenging in 1988, the infrastructure of these road routes is amazing now, the bridges, the tunnels and road conditions are great!
      That sounds like you had an awesome time and fantastic that you combined it with a Conference (the permafrost info didn't put you off heading more north then 😊. It would be awesome if you made the journey again -let us know if you do 😊.
      Thanks for sharing your experience and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series, on Wednesday night we post the actual Nordkapp episode.

      Hi Paul, What a super destination with a camper van! (there were times when it was pouring down with rain that those camper vans looked like a very good idea!)
      I would say it's definitely worth the drive if you have the time, we decided to spend less time in the south as we can get back here again in the future and to maximize the time in the North. Our route is available on our website and we will write the travel blog soon:

    😍 Congratulations both of you for your Nordkapp Trip and the video you posted and shared with us. I saw two videos , enjoyed both very much. I have a question, which time of the year did you travel ?? My collegue and I will leave on May 25 this year towards Nordkapp, finally after 3 years preparing the adventure and waiting for the right moment to leave. We are very Excited about this trip 🏍🏍🤩🤩 , in total will travel about 30 days. Norway going up and Finnland coming back , leaving from Spain , about 12.500 km. 👍

      @SeanandEmily  9 месяцев назад

      Hi Dani! Thanks very much, a journey to the Nordkapp is a special one indeed so we are sure you will enjoy your trip as much as we did 😊. We travelled at the end of the season so September. Weather was okay, rained a lot but wasn’t too cold. Regardless of the weather dies it’s awesome 😊. We left from Switzerland and ended up doing 10,000 Km (Norway killed the tires so be sure to have new ones before you leave or get some on the way)
      Here’s the full playlist but it sounds like you have it well planned already, there’s links in the descriptions to all the routes.
      Have an awesome trip!!!! 😎🙌🏻

      I make sure about the tires, thanks for the reminder, the bike is going to the service in 2 weeks time , before we leave.
      One last thing, I live in Spain but i am Swiss, born in Basel and grew up in Lugano , where I travel often during the year because my family lives there.
      Just wanted to let you know.

      Hi David. It's been one of the best trips we have done so totally recommend it. We went September and got home the first week in October. I think we were lucky (on the whole) with the weather but i think we would probably try to go mid August next time.

    The strech between Alta and Skaidi (Sennalandet) is consider to be the straightest road in Norway ;)
    And the part from Olderfjord to North Cape is the windiest, but looks like you guys where lucky with both the wind and weather.
    And for the sami people, to get a white reindeer calf means luck..
    Awesom drone footage.

    • @SeanandEmily
      @SeanandEmily  Год назад

      Hi Halvard, we were thinking that there can't be any straighter roads than this so thanks for confirming that! The scenery was unexpectedly beautiful especially with the weather being so calm and dry.
      Also the last leg to the Nordkapp was really special, sun setting and the light on the water made for a magical ride.
      Oh really, we actually saw a few white reindeer -they are easy to spot that the others too =)

    How the hell do you two always be 2 hours out from your destination

    • @SeanandEmily
      @SeanandEmily  Год назад +1

      Usually not but in Norway we seem to be stopping a lot more to take in the scenery, as we have a lot of Km to cover this means big days. If we get to the '2' hours away point then this is usually the time to knuckle down and get going as we can do this without stopping.
