    Sorry for the camera angling! I made this quickly for someone on reddit and just posted it for them. I will be making another review video with it packed out following some recent trips!

    Thanks for the review. Solgaard Endeavor still wins imo. Lighter, much bigger when expanded, better looking...I guess I'm keeping mine. I only wish it had a shoe compartment.

      this is exactly my dilemma, i really like the kangaroo pouch on the hive, but i actually really like the endeavors overall function and expandable space. but i believe nicholas here said that when the endeavor is expanded it sags a bit? is the sag really bad? because that is a turn off for me.

    Could you do a video with the backpack full filled and you show all the things you can put in ?

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  2 года назад +2

      Yes absolutely, I plan on doing a full review and another comparison video later. I'm out of town for work for these and just moved to a new house so it's been too hectic. I may do a review with them in the hotel with actual use and packed out on a real work trip.

    I was wondering if the laptop compartment in the front of the bag caused any problems for you? That's the one thing that I think the Shell does better with laptop in the back instead of the front.

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  Год назад +1

      Yeah it definitely should be in the back but I think the reason they didn't was because the zipper to expand the depth had to be in the back. The solgaard, however, put both zippers in the back so it's definitely possible. It hasn't caused problems but I have a super heavy clunky work laptop for cad work and it can be a slight annoyance when it's only half unzipped. With my normal laptop/lapdock or tablet it's fine.

      @@Nickfv12 Thanks, that's good to know. I was debating between the Shell and the Hive but I wasn't sure about the Hive because of the placement of the laptop. I know that was a big issue for the old Osprey Farpoint.

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  Год назад +1

      @@nathanielng1621 yeah I'd get the hive if it was a decision between the two or between the hive and the farpoint. I am about to get the shell just to have both and give a good comprehensive review of both.

    Good in-depth video! Have you used the bag without the kangaroo pouch under an airplane seat? If so how does it fit? How do you feel about the laptop sleeve being in the front of the bag after some use, do you find the weight distribution to be an issue?

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  2 года назад +3

      Weight distribution is surprisingly not an issue at all, especially when it's fully packed out anyway. Without the kangaroo pouch it fit underneath enough that flight attendants didn't bother me. Did cramp my leg room a tad bit but not too much to be uncomfortable.

      @@Nickfv12 Glad to hear that! Which airline did you fly with? I'm torn between the Hive and the Nest from Tropicfeel mainly due to size concerns, I frequently travel with Ryanair who have some of the lowest bag dimension requirements. Also, did you end up getting one of the pouches that magnetically clip to the front?

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  2 года назад

      @@TheAlfie2001 I flew delta. I always fly delta pretty much bc I fly out of Atlanta. Either way, it's technically "too big" on the spec sheet for it's dimensions to be cleared as a personal item or carry-on when it's packed out according to tsa guidelines. So regardless of the airline, it's technically too big, but airlines have never given me grief about it before. The Solgaard backpack in the video is even bigger and much bigger when it's packed out, and they didn't even bother me about that. And I've flown several airlines with that one.

      @@Nickfv12 Thanks for that, I'm leaning towards the Hive now... Overall would you say you're happy with it and it's worth the money?

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  2 года назад +2

      @@TheAlfie2001 definitely, but it took me a long time to justify buying from them bc of their prices. Then the hive came out so I was able to get one before all the eventual price increases that happened to the shell. The thing that tipped the scales was that they accept PayPal and PayPal does the pay in 4. While I could pay the full price up front, it's easier to justify the price of the add-ons when it's split up into 4 payments every 2 weeks.

    Hey, great Video,
    Does it fit under an airplane front seat?

    • @Nickfv12
      @Nickfv12  Год назад

      I take mine on my flights with me to and from site and have been since I got it. I fly all the time nearly on a weekly basis. It's my personal item even when fully loaded and then I have a very small rollerboard suitcase for some toiletries and site stuff that I use as my carry on. And it goes under the seat. But I fly delta always so idk if some smaller airlines would be the same.

      @Nickfv12  2 года назад +1

      The price of the bag alone was about that much, but not with the wardrobe and 12L packing cube. I got it at that price on an earlier batch. It goes up in price at each batch.
